When our new 3 storey beer dock opens before the start of next season in town we'll be the ale capital of League Two mark my words...

We are champions Fgr weren't. There's no comparison.

Fgr have struggled with one season with money, we will start our 16th with none. Plus we went to league one, made the playoffs and got to the auto windscreens regional final.

Come back in 2032 and then compare us.

Great to have Macc in the league again! How long have they been away?

Hopefully we get the away fixture on a Saturday rather than mid week.

Congrats to Macc on making it back up. Great achievement given their limited budget. Had very mixed results against them previously ranging from them thrashing us 4-1 at VP which ended Sinnotts reign to some good wins for Vale particularly at Moss Rose.

Real shame that Wrexham are probably going to miss out. Always guarantee a good atmosphere against them.

I would like to send my congratulations to Macc Town. Whether we will be here or not, most probably still here, I wish you luck next season and I will look forward to coming to Mac for the first time in my life.

It good to have Macc back as it's another local match and some good boozers,

It's bad to have Macc back as they always seem to beat us.

Congratulations to Macclesfield - I bet many football "experts" were tipping you to bottle it (is Alan the expert Alger still around??)

A good away trip I remember watching us draw with you 3-3 down there back in the Paul Ince era - great game!

Cheers, and well done to your lads too.. Flying the flag for skint clubs! I would say I'm disappointed not to be going to Stanley next season. But I'm not, we always got smashed there.

Morecambe's pies are even better than Holland's - so keep your fingers crossed that they survive.

Two games stand out in the FGR v Macclesfield fixtures:

2, Macclesfield ending FGR's historical 9 game winning run at start of 2015/16 season.
Wasn’t that the season you won the league in October?

Aye. I’m the same as you, to have Macclesfield, vale, Crewe, Morecambe, bury all within an hour (maybe a little more for Crewe) with the potential of Rochdale and/or Oldham then happy days.
How the fuck is it an hour to Morecambe, you using a tardis?

I get there in an hour and 10 aye.

Mind, even if you get the train we all meet in Lancaster first, which is bang on an hour from Piccadilly.

Don’t let some on here know you’ve said that (apparently I get accused of saying I live in manchester too much! Clearly not!).

But yeah, in relation to your original post, getting from Mansfield to Morecambe in an hour would be an impressive effort. Think it’s closer to 3.

Anyone else heard of this rumour of Macclesfield and Fleetwood Town merging clubs?
