Yes I've hear good things about Drugstore. :) Just had a look on RA and it seems like they have good regular nights. Unfortunately I've not been to Serbia but I know people who have and they loved it. My friends just come back from Bosnia too which he said was brilliant for it's history but it was a bit heavy due to how recent some of it was.

I've not long got back from Tblisi in Georgia which I can not recommend enough. We had some local friends and they took us up to a town near the caucasus mountains which was really cool. The two hour taxi ride there and back was a bit hairy though.

Tblisi itself is absolutely beautiful, and the people were generally friendly. We made the mistake of booking during August when it is 37c but it was still manageable. The clubs I wanted to check out were closed for August but they had a great cafe there called Gallery which had a funktion one sound system installed and they have regular nights too. Unfortunatly the night they had on was on the Friday when we were out of town. I did go into Bassiani on the Saturday but only the second room was open. It was still pretty cool though and I did a fair bit of expressive dance to some disco. You have to register with the clubs before hand as they are safe spaces for gay people and they have problems with homophobia/Nazis.

We'll definitely be going back anyway as there is plenty we didn't see in the city and outside.

Anyone been to Serbia or Montenegro?

Been to Montenegro, tiny place with fuck all there 1 night is more than enough , we unfortunately had 3 there. Only went for the football in podgorica so not exactly explored everywhere.

I'm getting the train from Belgrade to Bar in Montenegro, then spending 3 nights / 2 days in a village along the coast. I should hopefully be able to explore the coast, which looks pretty compact and quite stunning in places.

Right chaps...

I'm off to the Dominican next May on an all-inclusive break - 7 nights.

I'm not Rockafella, so dont be suggesting the Hard Rock Cafe at £1500pp each, but if anyone has been and has reccomendations then please feel free. My faves at the mo seem to the Grand Palladium Casino Resort & Spa and Dreams Punta Cana.

We're off skiing in the new year and I'm tempted to check out some brochures now because I'm really looking forward to it. Our daughter will be nearly 5, but hey, it's never too young to start. Knowing her, she'll go for it. The only things we'll have trouble with will be getting her to put a safety helmet on, and getting her off the snow once she's started..!!

Before I had the baby we used to ski every other winter but haven't been since she was born. We've been to Innsbruck, Courchevel, Val D'Isere, Arber and a few others. We'd love to do a Swiss resort but they're hideously expensive.

We liked Arber and as I recall it came across as being very family friendly. Good facilities for children and that'd be important with the little one.

I'd love to go back to Innsbruck when the Vierschanzentournee is in town. That would be truly awesome.

I'm a winter sport junkie and during the season our TV is seldom off Eurosport channel when there's something going on. My other half loves ice skating and we always get down to Eden Project rink when that's open. Daughter is too young for the juniors skating yet but there are supervised ice play sessions and she'll love that while mums have a skate.

Are there any other skiers or winter sport nuts on the forum..?

I wanna do this.....!!!! Woooooooo hooooo..!!

Going for 2 nights in Madrid and 4 in Barcelona in October. Anyone been to either and know what it's like? Never been to either and it's Champions League week so hoping to get a fixture in at one of those.

Just back from Sri Lanka. Got down to Galle and Kandy whilst we were there, superb holiday. Rain forecasted every day, didn't have a drop!

Went to Brno visit my friend for 10 days. Actually half of those 10 days were spent at a heavy/death/black metal festival in a place called Jaromer (central Czech Republic, halfway between Prague and Brno) which I actually enjoyed more than the rest of the trip. There was an English band from Sheffield called While She Sleeps that was very good. The weather was a bit shit in Jaromer though which made sleeping in a tent (1st time in my life) terrible.
Unfortunately, my friend could not take time off work while I was in Brno so I was on my own sightseeing. I don't mind. Nothing like walking in the sunshine reading your book. I also got to visit Bratislava. Well, sort of. It was a very hot day and the narrow streets weren't particularly appealing. I opted for a boat ride on the Danube that took me to the ruins of the Devin Castle (destroyed by Napoleon of course) which was great for time-killing. Bratislava really is small though. Apart from stag dos I don't think it's a great place to go to.

Not leaving the country until Russia now. I need a cheap destination for next August though. Possibly Albania. Georgia looks promising.

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Going to Athens next month for a week stay. If anyone has any tips I'd be all ears. Obviously want to do some of the history and main tourist trap stuff, the Acropolis, the Agoras, mount Lycabettus. I won't be able to drag my partner around ruins all week mind, so there's also some R&R planned as well. She's spotted a boat day trip to a nearby island off the coast so I think we'll do that assuming we can spare the euros. I've been a stressed grumpy bastard recently so it'll do us good.

Any decent areas to drink in Dublin where I won't get charged a fortune for a pint?

Was in Sri Lanka in December for honeymoon.

Loved the place.

Certainly hope to go back and see more.

I'm going for the cricket in October, heard it's good, hopefully a bit nicer than India and Bangladesh. Where did you go

Was down in the south in Tangalle, with it being honeymoon we didn’t really move around so would like to go back and travel around a little bit.

Drove through Galle during rush hour which was chaos. We did go into Matara which was good.

The people over there are superb. Cheap to eat and drink too.

I know you’re interested in the booze. Standard pricing was around 400 rupees for a 650ml bottle of Lion lager which is about 2 quid.

Was hoping to go over for the cricket but already got the green light to do the Windies in January so Sri Lanka was a no go.

Sounds good no dates/venues have been announced yet so will assess when they do, in doing new Zealand next month for the 5 odi matches, looking forward to that
