Not feeling overly hopeful of this one. We just havent had a good performance in us since Yeovil. Akinfenwa and the returning Mackail-Smith are bound to play blinders against our pretty shaky defence.

That seems a little over the top to say no decent performances since game one. Good battling draws at Lincoln and Mansfield. Easily beat Colchester and Port Vale with more in the tank. Yes we haven't flowed and are not firing on all cylinders, but its a lot of new players and we're doing OK and in touch still.

Always a tough game at Wycombe but we're in with a shout and I fancy we could pull off a win but any of the other two results could easily happen too.

Yeah perhaps a little harsh, the Colchester performance in particular was a good one I felt. The other matches I have seen have perhaps been slightly lacklustre but at least we got the job that needed doing done on Tuesday, if the performance was perhaps slightly off.

I think this one will be very tough, I cant see it being the return to the flowing passing style that I personally think we are capable of as Wycombe are simply not the type of side that will let that happen, especially away from home. We have had some decent battles with them since Ainsworth has been there and if we are to win I think we will need to grind it out. If we can then I think that bodes well for the rest of the season and our ability to get results at tricky spots, but im certainly not expecting a "performance" from us in the pretty sense!

If we are to get all 3 points then I think that relies on us getting Collins and Hylton in the game more than the last 2 games, where I dont think either has really had a sniff to be honest. Expecting Hylton in particular to have a job on his hands to escape the attentions of centre halves though, seem to remember he got some brutal treatment in this game last season and some of those chipped up balls we played to him on Tuesday will i expect once again get little change for him.

Never beaten Luton at Adams park so now is a good time to put this right. Good news for us on the injury front with The Beast,Nathan Tyson and Sam Saunders ready to play a part, we should start with Akinfenwa with the other 2 on the bench as out loan players Eze and Uberah played well on Tuesday in the 0-0 draw at Mansfield. The buses are operating from the train station and there will be a beer tent with a BBQ for away fans in the ground car park.

Haha. Wasn't just me then. I even looked through the last few Wycombe squads to see if you had a Hylton too.

Difficult game to call this one. The plus is that its a short trip with a large away following to cheer us on, however so was Barnet:sad:. Wycombe seem to have got off to a good start and will be full of confidence coming into this game. We are the other hand seem to be lacking self belief (NJs words) which means we aren't playing to our full potential. I think our backs will be bullied by Akinfenwa (again) and he could well get on the score sheet. We need to take the iniative and get on the front foot from the off. Hylton in particular need to put on his scoring boots. He seems to be struggling for form and Collins for me hasn't shown the form we expect from him on a consistant basis. Of course this could be down to the fact that we are losing the midfield which is why Wycombes physical style could cause us problems. If we can get our passing game together then who knows. I predicted a narrow win but a draw wouldn't be a bad result even if it means another two points dropped and yet another away game without a win.

blah blah blah.....what is it with luton fans....
we cant influence the result but we should be expecting and demanding nothing less than a win.....
the caliber and quality and cost of majority of the squad and team should mean that we shouldnt settle for anything less...we expect to win and expect to be entertained ...
if the team delivers and played to its potential and did its best and wycombe beat us then fair enough.....
otherwise i get to taunt NJ + smelly mpansy again....

The Hour Glass is only allowing away fans in which is a fooking disgrace, not sure if it's a managenent decision or Thames Valley old bill.

They put the sign up saying that for our visit but no one (including the law outside) bothered when it was ignored pre-match. The Bizzies then enforced it post match.

Just found out it's the landlord's decision which hasn't gone down well with Wycombe fans who drink in there every home game.

What are you going on about? I've never seen you write anything resembling a sensible footballing post or an opinion on a game. Just sensless drivel. This is a forum to voice your opinions about games, tactics, what has worked, what could be better etc. Up and down the country you'll find the same debates, doesn't matter what the team or how well their season has gone. No supporter has the right to expect a win no matter who you support. Thats the beauty of the game isn't it? I'm not actually convinced you are a Luton fan. You just seem to be on a constant wind up.

Hylts hasnt had a pre season so is going to be blowing a bit and rusty. Hes about 5 weeks behind. Collins also doesnt get the service he wants - balls to feet with one-twos and we dont play with wingers really. Hes going to have to adapt but he has showed his quality in patches.

Agree about akinfenwa.

Calm down Old Oak. Go on give us one of your cringeworthy poems! That will cheer everyone up! Maybe you might want to talk about the game later. Would be a first!

Nathan jones has infiltrated this site
chose the name maple hatter to sprout his shite.
in his view nobody's allowed to be critical or buck the be-patient trend
and must wait for nathan to come good in the end.
his petulant response to my original post
shows him up for the type of person that irritates the most.
unable to accept other people views and their opinions
he prefers to be trite and condescending in front of his minions.
so why don't you just sit down, wind yer neck in, cause if all else fails...
you know what you can do?? fuck off back to wales!!

Today I can see being a really frustrating and physical affair. It's been apparent so far that we've not coped very well against these sort of opponents. Perhaps it's just the teams we've played but there does seem to be an increase of this sort of football this season.

The Beast is back :bravo:Looks like a 4-4-2 with Mackail-Smith up front with him but most of our attacking players are on the bench Saunders,Tyson,Cowan-Hall,Eze amd Umerah with Bean and Bloomfield in midfield with O'Nien and Gape.

Same team as Tuesday then. Was sure we'd bring Cuthbert in for Shinnie and go 3-5-2. Can't see Rea or Sheehan coping physically with Akinfenwa, bit of a gamble so hopefully it pays off.

Not keen with Akinfenwa up against those 2 centre halves to be honest, maybe don't want to get caught up in a physical game as you'd know Cuthbert would give away some stupid free kicks and break up the game. Bet Mackail Smith manages to find his shooting boots today too...think a draw on the cards again today to be honest.

Another totally disjointed performance from us, we've played right into Wycombes hands, so narrow and have given a ludicrous amount of stupid free kicks. That has been a continual issue under Jones when things haven't gone our way in games.

Absolutely pathetic really, 2 of the best forwards in the league and we don't give them the service they need. Slow and narrow build up is so easy to defend against.

Seems I say this every week but again we come up against a determined and good looking side in Wycombe who have stopped us playing, chased and harried without the ball and but look good and dangerous with the ball. Stech looking a bit wobbly today and as ever The Beast causing problems and CMS looking dangerous too.

Worried if all your best attacking players are on the bench. Deserved halftime lead although Id like to get anther look at the Collins disallowed goal could have come from an onside position despite looking miles off when he scored.

Not enough from us. Gotta step it up

You say it every week because we are so easy to play against, bit of physicality and get the ball wide and in our box and that's pretty much it. Defensively just make sure you hold your shape and that will do for us.
