I'm reading that Rob Elliot went off with what looked like a bad injury in Ireland's game. And Krul is already out for the season. Rafacastle running out of goalkeepers.

Damaged knee ligaments is the early shout. It'll be Darlow who looked a bag of nerves earlier this season.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Good to see KDB and Nasri back in the fold today.

That's it for his season then. And,if worst comes to worst, possibly the Euros as well.

Hodgson names his Euro 2016 squad in just over 4 weeks time, Henderson will still be injured at that point with no guarantee he will come back on schedule or, even if he does, he'll be match fit in time. There is no chance will he be part of the England team this summer.

There's hope for this England team yet, just need Rooney to be dropped to the bench and we might not embarrass ourselves.

And then hopefully Roy Hodgson goes and therefore it becomes bearable to watch England again

Would only take another English coach though. I hate the thought of foreign coaches managing England.

Eddie Howe would be interesting. Think that's the only good English coach with a slight chance of getting the England job.

Whilst I'd hate to lose Howe to England, nothing would give me greater pride. However I don't think the FA would consider Howe until he's built a much greater track record in the PL. He's still in his late 30s, has decades yet to do whatever he wants to do, could probably pick his next job as and when he wishes to have another challenge, and England / international management in general tends to be an older managers' job.

I think we'll have another 2 years of Roy because there isn't really an obvious candidate.
Unless it goes totally tits up this summer, in which case the FA might shit the bed and throw cash at Jose, which he'd probably take for say a short 2 year stint.

Back onto the injuries front, Callum Wilson played 90 seconds on Saturday. :D

Henderson hasn't been great this season. He's had the opportunity to step up to the plate following the departure of Gerrard and hasn't taken it. I still think he gets far more flak that he deserves though. But even without the injury I'm unsure if I'd have taken him had I been Hodgson so perhaps it is for the best.

As for Rooney, it's long been established that he could play a full campaign without scoring a single goal and would still be taken to the World Cup or Euros. I'm not sure why this is. An avoidance of the issue by Hodgson perhaps? A few years back when England strikers of note were like unicorn shit I could understand it. But now? Unless Kane or Vardy are injured he shouldn't get a sniff but you know he'll be starting whenever he's able. I'm convinced that the sooner Rooney is no longer able to play due to age (or girth) the better for England it will be.

Sturridge is currently playing and got a few goals. That puts him in conention at least.
Bilic wants Carroll in.

if i had to take 1 it would be Sturridge, he knows the world will be watching and it will help his desperation for a move.

I'm a big Carroll fan, I'd definitely take him to the Euros. It's not going to happen with Kane, Vardy, Sturridge and Rooney being clearly ahead of him, but he would offer a completely different dimension. Plus whenever I've seen Carroll for England he's done really well. He wins something like 75% of aerial balls in the Premiership, but that grows close to 90% in international games, that's my impression anyway.

Actually, considering how poor England's wingers are, if I were Hodgson I'd put Sturridge out wide. If he doesn't like it, don't take him.
