Mane would walk into your side (he's ten times the player Sissoko is thats for sure) as he would probably all the top six clubs, he is far from mediocre. It's also funny how you now deem yourself a top club when for so long of your 'history' (even Huddersfield have more leagues than you yet!) you have been a failure and living in the shadow of Arsenal and Chelsea. It wasn't that long ago you guys were bottom half mediocrity for years.

That's a huge nibble...
He hasn't posted since

Sterling withdrew from the England squad for their upcoming friendlies against Germany and Brazil because of a back issue.
The severity of Sterling's injury is unclear, but given that England are only playing friendlies and not World Cup qualifiers, it wouldn't be shocking to see him return for City's match at Leicester on Nov 18.

74 days lost to injury
It’s a so bad for LFC.
Jurgen Klopp's team are renowned for their pressing and high-intensity sprints, and they suffered a succession of muscular injuries during his first season at Anfield. This season they have lost fewer days to injury than any other club. Sadio Mane was absent for a few weeks with a hamstring problem, and Nathaniel Clyne and Lallana are still awaiting their first appearances of the season due to back and thigh injuries respectively. Daniel Sturridge has managed to stay available for selection for most of the campaign, which knocks off a large proportion of their days lost in a previous season.

Liverpool aren't playing 100 mile per hour football this year and are being more selective in when they raise it up, and also there is better rotation as the squad has filled out a bit more so they are riding the injuries to key players a bit better generally. Be good to have Lallana back once the international break is over though.

Convoluted way of saying they've been crap.

Not at all, they are managing games more so this year even if they haven't hit the heights of this time last year (when they got to first in the league at this stage).

Mane suffering a setback with his hamstring and is heading back to Melwood where Liverpool will monitor him. Hope its nothing severe, he's hardly played this season due to injuries and that ludicrous 3 match ban against City.

Clyne out for three months.
Yeah he had a relapse the other week and had an op the other day, and with a back injury it could indeed be at least 3 months out still.

Basically I doomed Aguero by just sticking him in my dream team and as a result hes collapsed/fainted at half time in the friendly v Nigeria.

Read this morning he didn't faint, he just felt a bit dizzy at half time and they decided to send him to hospital as a precaution.

Mane back in full training, excellent. Lallana and Hendo should be in the running for the weekend also.

City's depth is insane. They can lose two or three key players without it really making that much of a difference. Can't think of another side in Europe you could say the same for. Bar goalkeeper, there isn't a single drop in quality comparable to what you see in every other side regarding the given starters.

It's not that crucial for the CL, but in the league it's a gap too big to bridge for any club. Fucking shit.

Give a club a decade long unlimited budget and this is the result of them spending £1b+ unfortunately.

At least they play Sterling as a regular starter to make it a bit more even.

Real shame to see Yarmolenko injured. 6 months out and he was just beginning to get back into good form.

Adam Smith who had that weird looking injury up at Newcastle the other week, whereby he crumbled to the ground with no one anywhere near him, has had the results of his scans back. It's a knee cartilage tear, which is better than a ligament going. Expected out for 3 months, rather than 6+. So that's about as positive as we could have hoped for. Still leaves us very short at right back mind.

Fair to say we're having a nightmare with injuries. Now Lewis Cook has done his ACL and will be out for 6-9 months we hear. It occurred during the Huddersfield game at some point, but weirdly he completed the game without obvious adverse incident, and only went off with a slight limp at full time.

That leaves us very short in central midfield.

Don't know how on earth we're still 7th currently but we're going to be limping through until we can potentially get some January reinforcements.

I fear we might hear Simon Francis retire from playing shortly. His injury from Wembley yesterday was a reptured anterior knee ligament, with in theory 9 months out.

He's 34 shortly, out of contract in May, and the recovery from that injury, back to PL level first team football, is not a straightforward one.

Its a horrible way for a career to end if thats how it goes. While he has his limitations at this level, he's undoubtedly one of the all time players for this club. 2 promotions and 3 1/2 successful PL seasons under his belt, all on a free transfer from Charlton Athletic! Having met him he's also a very nice bloke too.

I hope (and am fairly sure) he'll stick around the club in some capacity.

I also hope we're looking into any common factors in all these serious knee injuries we've seen this season. Getting daft now.
