That City have also been on the receiving end is enlightening. I believe Arsneal have lost a fair few too. It does seem clubs are on the receiving end of a disproportianate amount of injuries coming in internationals. Something that should be looked at as it's unacceptable.

I think the whole notion that international football is the pinnacle and that clubs and players should drop everything to suit its needs readjusting. Realistically now very few give a shit about it and it's very much secondary to club football.

He's good, but he's not Ozil good.

Silva is comfortably the better player.

I'll happily admit when another player is better than one of ours. However Ozil is the best playmaker in the league. Silva is second best, but not by far. I'll happily admit Aguero is better than Giroud if that helps?

Ozil has only been in form for Arsenal this season, he did it a bit last season for about 6 games and the previous season he was completely anonymous despite the hype about him being so good. Silva has done it consistently ever since arriving, and even when he doesn't play as well as he can, he doesn't drift out of games as much as Ozil. Silva is just better.

That's just it though, Silva does drift... some games you don't even know he's playing, but the games where Ozil is "missing" he's actually dragging opposition players out of position and creating games. Where as when Silva goes missing he's actually doing sod all. But city don't get the same stick as Arsenal do so you wouldn't have been force fed the info from the back pages.

Ozil is better. He's the best assister in the history of the premier league, and has the record for most consecutive assists... and he's only been at the top of his game for half a year. But David Silva makes City tick, he's the key to them winning the title. City have more depth than we do, so its injuries and luck that will see us finish first.

Silva is indeed what make City tick ( over the last few years anyway) and when he's out they do miss him though maybe less so with the buys in the summer. Arsenal don't need Ozil to win games, he's a luxury player for them. He's not half as important as Coquelin for them.

I think it's time to accept the guy can never be relied on, which means he will never again be thought of as our primary striker. And, whilst Benteke is a quality forward, I question if his style matches what Klopp wants to bring about. Will he fit in with the fast paced football we'll be playing?

I can see a new striker coming in during the summer and Sturridge being offloaded.
