Get rid of Cahill after that defending for Stones
Hart in for Butland
Drinkwater in for Horrenderson
And barkley in for lallana play a diamond with Alli at the tip

Lastly pick a striker (not vardy, use him like tonight to terrorise for 30 mins)

Hart
Clyne Smalling Stones Rose
Dier
Drinkwater Barkley
Alli
Kane TBC

Rooney, Sturride or Welbeck as the TBC with Vardy off the bench

Then players like sterling as subs to fill into the diamond

I'd be happy with Lallana in the starting line-up if he can maintain that level of performance for England. Thought he played very well tonight.

Possibly England's most talented player who has been man of the match* in a lot of his most recent England performances vs a bloke who hasn't even played a game for England yet.

*6 times in his last 7 England games. First name on the teamsheet to be honest.
So what? How many times did Vardy, Alli and Dier play for England? To take a guy who has not played a game this season, and might not even play the whole season is senseless. He is no Messi.

Say what you want about it only being a friendly, I bloody enjoyed that.

Kane, Alli, Rose, Clyne, Dier... all great.

Henderson and Welbeck get their fair share of stick but they both grafted tonight, not they will ever get any credit.

What impressed me the most was England's organisation and solidity, remained very well focussed throughout and never let their heads drop after conceding the second - going toe to toe with the world champions. The Tottenham lads are a brilliant spine to the team, Alli and Kane in particular are a joy to watch. Man do I want them at United...

Hang on didn't Ireland just beat Germany lately and in a competitive match?

Well maybe Germany are not that good anymore lol.
They're not. Since the retirment of Lahm, they lack leadership especially in the middle of the park. When a game is not going well, no one has the character to bark at others à la Effenberg to tell them to put their arses into gear. Sure they have a lot of fancy footwork players like Reus, Götze and Özil and Müller is a clinical finisher but they've been overrun in the defensive are of midfield quite often.
Football was not to be remembered last time we beat them due to terrorist attacks but Germany were spineless in that game. And we didn't play well at all.

Germany also weren't that good at the World Cup. I know they won it, but they were somewhat fortunate in my opinion. They were lucky not to get caught out against Algeria, took extra time to beat them. Yes they mauled Brazil, but Brazil were horrendous, even England would have beaten them on that night. As for the final, Argentina should have been ahead way before Germany scored. Higuain missed a couple of great chances.

Germany are a good team with a lot of quality players, but for me they aren't a side that will dominate for years to come. They aren't the Spanish side from the last few years. They were fortunate not to come undone at the World Cup and I think they'll have to massively improve to reach the Euro finals. I think they'll go deep, but I'm think they might come unstuck if they aren't careful.

bla bla, you went out winless in the group stage. win a fucking game before you are talking such a shit of beating Brazil on this s night or a other.

each team needs luck to win the world cup, youll find hardly a team that won the cup without having luck on the route

im sick of your attitude, always we were so superior to Germany, we will beat them easily and so on. but the fucking truth is, you have never beaten us in a competitive match, not even when you were 3:1 up in extra time.

Calm down. I've been posting time and again how rubbish you have been since Rio. I haven't seen you deny it once.

It is true we only beat you in friendlies but I don't remember saying that we are so superior to Germany. I'll wait till we beat you in an international tournament (you must confess that we don't meet very often unlike England/Germany). I hope we do so this summer because you are there for the taking.

IMO our only hope of Rooney not making the side is if he's not fit enough come June, If he is he will start and be captain.

I agree on all of these players, they all did a job for the team. England don't have any superstar players so the most important thing is to get the balance right, which we did last night.

It definitely wasn't Germany v France though, which is what Mente Captus was talking about.

And I'd forgotten about winning 1-0 in Charleroi when Germany finished bottom of the group.

Memory probably wiped by Phil Neville's ineptitude in timing a professional foul.

Yeah but they have played for England...and done well. They are also better players than Drinkwater. You're saying we should take a bloke who has literally not even stepped on the pitch yet over by far England's best player in qualifying who has never hit the problem hitting the ground running after injury seeing as that is exactly what he's done for England when he's ended up getting MOTM. He's no Messi but he's a level or two above any of our other CM's.

Great turn out from England. Vardy and Kane form a very decent attack duo and Vardy's goal was classy. Also liked Alli's performance so much, he has great movimentation.

To be fair it's an 'International Friendlies' thread, not England vs Germany. And when people were rushing to provide examples of competitive games we've beaten Germany in the most obvious one was missed.

I'm guessing that it wasn't used because that was West Germany but I'm probably giving Silkyman too much credit.
