Whereas we will benefit mansfield, i don’t think that’s it’s fair. It’s not swindon’s or port vales fault that mansfield’s ground is smaller, and northampton’s even smaller. Why should they share the pot with us 2?

As wycombe have proven size doesn’t matter anyway on the pitch but for me that’s not such a clever arrangement.

That’s why i always get cider in there, you can’t get cider wrong. Whenever i’ve had beer in there it’s clearly dodgy as

Literally no idea what I'm supposed to do. I started going Vale in 1995 so just missed the glory years so I've never experienced the play offs before. I haven't even remotely thought about the games on Sunday or next Thursday yet. I don't know whether to be nervous, excited, cautious or ridiculously optimistic. It's going to be surreal, that's for sure. Looking forward to being in our away end though.

Same here, bar the predicted 1-1 between Swindon and Hartlepool denying us in 2004 and Covid in 2020 we've not even come close to participating really.

Swindon is the one I didn't want mainly because of our shit performances we always seem to have against them, I thought at full time Saturday we'd got Mansfield initially! Then realised they'd pipped them on GD.

As its Swindon I am not expecting to progress so anything else is a bonus. My main hope is we dont get battered like 90% of our recent visits to their place so the second leg is still in the balance or it will be a bit of a flat occasion Thursday.

Ticket situation is getting more tinpot, they finally went online today (only been sold to ST holders so far) but the website is down. Considering it’s Wednesday they really need to get a grip.

Am surprised we've been allowed to do that with being on Sky. Hopefully we will have firmed up details re the home leg by then and that should be an opportunity shift some tickets then.

Fair play to Swindon on the pricing there, can't grumble with that at all.
I paid £20 when we played there in about 2006.

It’s been down all morning, it’s absolutely ridiculous.

Whereas i appreciate the club hierarchy will be aware of this, they’ve got ample chance to attract more and new fans and were making it impossible.

It’s embarrassing

Every play-off experience is terrifying.

Personally i've experienced leading 1-2 against Brighton on agg with 30 seconds to go before Tommy Mooney giving them the ball back needlessly and them going up the other end and scoring, before inevitably losing on pens.

Then there was losing 2-0 to Charlton at The Valley, 3-2 on agg, down to 10 men. Danny Ward pokes one home to take it to extra time. Swindon win on pens.

Most crazy of them all was Swindon 5-5 Sheffield United. Obika scored in the 84th minute to make it 5-3 to us on the night and 7-4 on aggregate. They still managed to score in the 88th and 90th minute to leave us clinging on in added time.

Also had a penalty defeat to Brentford in there as well.

Play-off games are genuinely a different beast, especially second legs. The most unthinkable things tend to happen.

Hope this helps!

Bloody hell. I think I'd rather just get thrashed in the first leg than put myself through that!

I was only about 10 when we were last in the playoffs nearly 30 years ago. I went to the Autoglass trophy final the week before but then we had booked a holiday when we played West Brom in the final. Remember listening to it on the radio in the middle of Cornwall somewhere and being devastated! We finished way ahead of them in the league and I think we beat them twice in the league but then Peter Swan got sent off and we lost comfortably in the end.

Like I say, I'd prefer a clear winner rather than any crazy comebacks or other shenanigans. I had to walk out of the room for England's last penalty shootout and I'm not even that bothered about international football. God knows how I'd cope if it happened to us!

It feels like Swindon are in a fairly good place and are sure of their team. Our end of season wobble has given me the jitters a bit and I don't feel as confident. Feel like Swindon's midfield is better than ours but as a collective in terms of running and pressing, we have the edge. If we can stop them knocking it about in midfield then we have a chance. Wilson will cause problems because he's technically very good and Proctor will cause problems physically.

It's a shame we can't exploit Swindon's supposed weakness at set pieces as our free kicks and corners are invariably terrible!

We could if Hussey wasn’t in poor form in general play!

Some fans camping outside Vale ticket office overnight for tickets for Sunday! The Exeter ticket situation causing nerves I guess! Fair play to them!

Hopefully you shift them, nothing better than a full away end as a home fan IMO. How good is your second keeper? Thought Roberts was world class when you last played us at the Mill

Jonny Maxted, he was the Exeter keeper when we beat them at Wembley two years ago....

I've got my ticket for Mansfield, wouldn't mind a similar result to last Saturday, inevitably without the dejection and morgue like atmosphere experienced on the ride home this time... :dk:

There's commitment and then there's this! That's true dedication.
