I enjoyed it as well. It just seemed to be marketed like a generic Cruise sci-fi movie though, like another Oblivion, plus the title makes it sound like a Bond movie.

Gamera 2: Attack of Legion (Redneck Dub) - Shusuke Kaneko

That's right....the redneck dub version. Best version ever! Who cares what the film is about - although if you do, it's about a deadly alien that wants to destroy the world. Our only hope is Gamera - it features a fantastic dub! Imagine you were providing a dub and you could make up any shit you wanted to....this is the result. In redneck!!!

Does anyone else listen to Kermode and Mayo on Radio 5? The Russell Crowe interview this week. The man is genuinely insane. It's like an extract from a Christopher Guest film about a self absorbed thesp.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Isn't "Live, Die, Repeat", the tagline? I think this was one of the better sci-fi films that Hollywood has produced in the last few years. It needs more love imo.

It was renamed a couple of times. The whole marketing was fucked up

The book was called All You Need Is Kill. Should have just stuck with that, has a kind of web vernacular vibe to it. Then again maybe they didn't want to draw attention to the fact that this is a whitewashed version of a Japanese story.

I have their BBC page bookmarked to listen to the podcast later but I always forget about it. May have a listen to it though. I was told Crowe looked unwell on Norton the other week, maybe he's going through another midlife crisis.

Murder She Said (1961)

A Miss Marple film (yep I know!) This was, and I don't usually watch this type of stuff, but it starred the inimitable Margaret Rutherford who is brilliant as the amateur sleuth. I liked it mainly because it never took itself seriously and was at times very funny especially with the scenes involving Rutherford and the always good James Robertson-Justice where the chemistry and comic timing from both was spot on.

I saw who did it a mile off but that didn't spoil what was a pretty good and fun film.

8/10

Anyone else seen the Voices? Seems to only have been given a limited release, I ended up having to go all the way to bloody Bolton to see it!

I enjoyed it, very surreal dark comedy horror with Ryan Reynolds playing a pretty disturbed man trying to live a normal life and pull lovely English girl he works with, only he has to deal with the voices he hears, namely his dog who tells him what a good boy he is, and his cat, who wants him to kill people!

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I watched on Sunday Genevieve which is probably the most sunday afternoon movie you could ever get, just one of them superb films which will make you smile as watching it, cracking music track also, about 2 men who drive to classic car rallies from London to Brighton who decide to have a race on the way back to see who is the best.

Tried to stream this but the quality was awful. Interested in it though. Worth seeing?

Roddy McDowall is brilliant in that.

Great film, one of those horrors I grew up with thanks to my nan. Jerry Dandridge is one of the best vampires in film.

Guardians of the Galaxy - 9/10

Good fun from beginning to end. I'm sure there's some little faults to be found but I didn't notice them on first viewing. Pretty much everything you'd want from that sort of film.

Don't normally like George Clooney films, but this was brilliant from beginning to end. Watch it, watch it, watch it. 9/10.
