If you're gonna watch them again make sure it's the extended versions all of which are over 4 hours long so i watched each one over 2 days.

The Fellowship Of The Ring. 8.5/10.
The Two Towers. 9.5/10.
The ReturnOf The King. 9/10.

How much extension is there compared to the normal versions?

Never mind just read your latest post.

I watched The Blues Brothers (8), Scrooged (8) and Network (10) recently.

I should be back on my zombie trek soon with a bit of luck.
No stills? Not like you Stevie. Btw is that the Seventies Network about the anchor who flips his lid about the madness of the world - something relevant to todays world again!?!

Fellowship is my personal favourite out the lot, it is a modern masterpiece. The making of documentaries alongside were excellent too, it looked a unique and fun shoot - unlike The Hobbit where Ian McKellen broke down because he filmed everything on green screen without a cast alongside.

'Herr der Ringe'? Why does the German language always make things appear even more threatening than they already are! Bet you even Snow White And The Seven Dwarves sounds like the apocalypse!

Argh, those Hobbit movies are just fucking garbage all in all. People always talk about the Star Wars prequels vs the original trilogy as if there's this huge gulf in quality, but it has NOTHING on the difference between LOTR and The Hobbit.

The Hobbit should have been made as one film and with a better actor than Freeman playing a young Bilbo,i watched about half of the first one and gave up it was that bad.

A group of Mossad agents hunt down the terrorists who killed 11 Israeli athetes at The Olympic Games in Munich in 1972. A decent cast with Daniel Craig Ciairan Hinds and Eric Bana it had it's moments but a lot of dull parts as well. 6.5/10.

If you want a better film about terrorism in Germany in the 1970s I would recommend The Baader Meinhof Complex (2008) which is a fairly good and accurate story about the Red Army Faction led by Ulrike Baader and Andreas Meinhoff which carried out bombings, kidnappings and other acts of terrorism in the 1960's and 70's.

Based on a book by Stefan Aust, it tends to follow the book rather closely so tries to squeeze 10 years into 2 hours but it does it very well and I found the quality of acting and the production of the film excellent. All things considered, it is a very suspenseful, fascinating, densely narrated and well acted film.

it's the other way around: Andreas Baader and Ulrike Meinhof ;) (yeah, I know I am a smart-arse :D)

Would be "Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge". But the Brothers Grimm fairytale is known in the german original only as "Schneewittchen" (Snow white). Must be a "Hollywood" addition.

I liked him as the Hobbit. The films were the issue, not the actor.

Legionnaire (1999)
Not bad for a Van Damme film he plays a boxer in 1920's America who angers a mob boss by not throwing a fight so flees to join The Foreign Legion to escape but is found in Morocco where 2 gangsters join up to try and kill him during the chaos of battle, some good action scenes made up for some of the dafter moments. 6.8/10.

Yeah, he was one of the few things about that trilogy I liked. When I think back the only things I liked were basically Bilbo, Smaug, and the scenes with Gollum in the first one... I'm not sure I even remember the rest.

The China Syndrome (1979)

Excellent thriller about a news crew filming in a nuclear power station when a serious event happens that could've ended in meltdown, and it then proceeds to tell of the unravelling of what happened, and the cover-up that follows. A station employee sees the safety lapses but everytime he raises his concerns, he gets brushed off as it would cost the company millions to investigate; so he takes things into his own hands and invites the press in to dish the dirt.

Pacing was perfect to let the drama unfold, and the acting by the top quality cast (Jane Fonda, Michael Douglas and Jack Lemmon) was first rate. Gripping throughout.

9/10

A River Runs Through It (1992)

Robert Redford directs this film based on the novel by Norman Maclean set in and around Missoula Montanna in the Great Depression. The film follows two sons (Brad Pitt & Craig Sheffer) of a presbterian minister in a coming of age drama. Its a beautifully shot film with stunning locations and backdrops. There are also strong themes throughout this film about the pressures of growing up finding yourself in the world.

Thoroughly enjoyed this film

8/10

Weekend- Romantic Indie drama which felt like a gay version of Human Traffic if I'm honest. It's about two guys who meet over a weekend. The two main characters were annoying and the film was average- 6/10

Not a very good remake of the b/w classic from 1957 staring Glenn Ford and Van Heflin, this one stars Russell Crowe and Christian Bale,it just seemed flat until the last 20 minutes. 6/10.

What else would you do in Wells, Somerset? (sorry Mowgli, only a lame joke;) )

btw: I was "convinced" to watch the whole "Pirates of the Carribean" movies from the beginning. Damn, I only survived the first part because of Keira Knightley. This fucking Idiot Johnny Depp has his surname with good reason ( Depp = Idiot in German slang). What an utter twat. This was shite and I'm not watching the rest of this

2/10 (b/c of Keira)
