Not convinced so far about Grayson. He’s not got a lot to work with but he was bemoaning the fact we ‘didn’t take our chances’ but he’s got actual strikers sat on the bench and doesn’t start at least one. His subs reeked of a guy just trying to figure out what his players are like rather than someone trying to win the game. As soon as he made the changes we started getting hemmed in. I don’t want to unload on him just yet but I’ve not really seen anything to suggest he’s going to turn things around.

Our defending is embarrassing, so so easy for Donny to score tonight whereas Donny actually made it semi difficult, in the end it was the difference. Just want the season to end.
That's because the strikers we do have are far worse footballers than a winger and an attacking mid, I can't blame Grayson I'd have done the same, we have one decent striker at the club and he's suspended. I remember at the start of last season when we couldn't fill a bench, however the players we did have were quality at this level, I'd rather only have 3 decent players on the bench than the 7 we had tonight.

As for the defence I have to disagree, Donny got nowhere near us until a quality ball unlocked the defence admittedly after that it crumbled but our defence has improved just a shame attack has totally disappeared.

Poleon might be shit but he’s still our second top scorer. McCartan and Gilliead did nothing today, just my opinion.

We weren’t tested in defence today for a long time as I didn’t think Donny were very good. As soon as he made the changes we experienced a bit of sustained pressure and we conceded. It’s predictable and tiresome.

Not sure they had much hope of doing much tbh, our midfield create nothing and never bother to drive the ball forward to cause a few problems. To think McCall said we had the best midfield in the league after MK Dons. End of the day this team if fucked because of more than one crap striker, I personally think we have been better off the ball since Grayson came in, but on it we are clueless, that's where we are losing. I'm not sure what people were expecting when he came in, but he can't perform miracles. To me it looks like he's trying to stop the rot like when Parkinson took over from Jackson, we won't see the best of him unless he's given free reign in the summer.

As I said I have sympathy as he’s inherited a wank squad with little investment put in it over the last year. But I can’t say he’s given me a lot of encouragement and I think he’s made questionable decisions.

I look at if McCall was still here who is a far less respected manager and I can’t imagine we’d have picked up less than 1 point in the last 4 games under him. So what was the point in sacking him.

This.

Even Dickov would have this squad in a play off position.
Is your squad good then? I have no idea about Doncaster's team this season..

I am fully behind sacking Fergie though - can't stand the bloke

It’s better than what Fergie is getting out of it. Not good enough for promotion but certainly 6th to 10th

So what was the point in sacking him.
From a fans perspective, none at all, but we don't call the shots. We all know one owner didn't like him so a bad run was enough an excuse for him to get rid imo. That's the only point that I can think of.

Naive from him though, as if he'd have kept him on until the end of the season, more fans would have understood the decision not to renew his contract as there was no way he was turning it around. Rahic must have genuinely thought someone else would get us top 6, although after Wimbledon it was fairly obvious it was terminal. Promotion hunting sides don't put it that kind of result and performance against crap.

Old Simon is on a bit of a bad run, didn't win any of his last 6 games at North End so his current record is 1 win in 25 games. I'm sure he will turn it round but I can't imagine he's in great spirits these days.

I can't honestly believe how Bradford have dropped so badly. It's astonishing.

If it wasn't for that tw&t Charlie Wyke, I would nearly feel sorry for them

Doncaster vs Bradford was a struggle to watch last night, wasn't it? A real struggle.

Nothing seemed to happen.

Did people who weren’t City or Doncaster fans actually watch it? I nearly walked out the pub when we conceded the first and I support the pricks.

I think so, but I honestly can't remember.

Poleon will score against us on saturday, he always does.

A draw not ideal for Northampton or Shrewsbury?

It's brought belief back that we are up for the fight after Saturdays no show against Rotherham. I'm now heading to Fleetwood pumped up rather than shitting it.

Great battling performance from Northampton tonight I thought. Shame the ref didn’t give us either of the 2 stonewall pens in the 2nd half. Feels like 2 points dropped. Appatently JFH reckons Cobblers were the better side tonight?? What game was he watching!?

Edit: on second viewing perhaps the pens not as stonewall as orginally thought!

I doubt he will even play, Grayson doesn’t fancy him. Can’t say I’ve been overly impressed with him but he’s probably our only fit striker unless Alex Jones makes a rare appearance.

I wouldn’t worry about anyone scoring against you, without Charlie Wyke we’re totally toothless. You only have to turn up to collect the 3 points we’re that bad sadly.

You must be the only ones, I’m struggling to think of a worse finisher in my 20 odd years of watching us, even that goal down at your place in August was followed by him missing a totally open goal not long after. As above, he probably won’t play anyway, we’ll do well to have a few decent shots on target never mind score.

Believe me Joe, no one will score for us on Saturday. More likelihood of one of ours scoring for you.
