Some of their fans may be arrogant but Exeter sure play some nice stuff and I always want them to do well. In fact, thinking about it, I'm never that disappointed when they do beat us. Not only is their brand of footy easy on the eye so to speak, but they never resort to gamesmanship and the like.

I agree. I think last season Exeter were the best team I saw come and take points off us at the CG. They do play the game in good spirit as well without histrionics and gamesmanship as well as you say, I have to agree with you whole-heartedly there.

They were clinical against us too, 43 shots they had across the 2 games (30 at home 13 at Blundell Park) and managed to bang in a whole 1 goal, can see why their fans are so arrogant with such a top strike force.

Fair dues, guess when they score 2 out of the 8 you’ve conceded in 17 home games you have some kinda respect for them - hopefully they’ll be more like your version of them for the rest of the season

Pretty sure they were running the clock down at most opportunities last night. Keeper placing the ball left side of the box then picking up and ambling to the right on goal kicks. Practically every other throw being taken by a lad that walked from a fair way off from the one that picked up the ball and feigned to take it. Keeper holding the ball for an age whenever he had chance.
Excellent "game management" some would say. We know and accept that we do it. Glass houses and all that from many.

Yet this excellent ref that you keep bleating about only booked one player for time wasting and that was in injury time.
Wasn't there but that sounds no worse than Bury a couple of weeks back.

I agree with that. Although it seems Denzel seems to also have drunk some of the kool aid that seems to make ECFC fans overly arrogant.
You will have to have improved 1000% from your performance on NYD to overtake us. It's confidence, if we can be within one second of beating the league leaders away from home with our injury problems, with them back and a bit more fortune we will be looking up not down.

Nothing about the ref from me in my last post. You probably know,"Game management " is modern speak for taking the piss time wasting and disrupting play at every opportunity! Exeter were excellent at it last night, as we are on a regular basis, and most try to but can't bring themselves to admit it.
Your total football side did it in spades, just like our cloggers are lambasted for.
An excellent ref would have booked one of yours 20 minutes in for time wasting (for some reason practically every ref waits until it really doesn't matter before dishing cards out for time wasting), given us a pen, and definitely booked Andrade for a pitiful dive in the first half.

I think they learnt quickly from the lesson given them at home earlier this season

Should be pretty standard wins for Mansfield, Bury and MK this weekend against struggling sides.

Us at FGR could go either way because neither side are in sparkling form.

We have only Ajose as a fit forward, and whereas he’s good at assisting goals he doesn’t appear to know what the goal is itself - hopefully this will change, added to the fact we really struggled down at Cheltenham in November (equalised in the last minute) it’ll be a tough one.

Where have any Swindon fans said that we would be overtaking you? I, and I think my fellow town fans think we only have a squeak of a chance of getting in the play-offs and until it's mathematically impossible, we still retain that chance.

Be careful you don't fall off your high horse Denzel, its a long way down.

Indian Dan said he was supporting Lincoln in the match day thread. Unless that was for some deep seated love of Matt Rhead or something.

Jesus wept, can't believe I am even wasting time responding to this.

We have next to no chance of catching Lincoln, our best chance of getting into the play-offs is if the teams in 4th to 7th drop points, hence Dan wanting Lincoln to win. Had you been playing Bury or Mansfield, he would have been in the same boat.

I am pretty sure ID as well as my other fellow Swindon fans have no anti-Exeter rhetoric, there really is no need to get so worked up about it. :)

Good chance for Tranmere to cement a playoff place against lowly Exeter.

James Norwood guaranteed a goal in this one.

We’ve had a vote and we don’t want Exeter to come up to league one thanks. It’s too far away from civilisation both in terms of distance and culture. We’ll take Lincoln, Mansfield, Bury and a late playoff push and triumph from Grimsby please.

Any team making the playoffs will want to play Exeter.

Wait, you want Grimsby up for culture, implying they are closer to civilisation than Exeter? Have you ever visited Cleethorpes?

I’ve actually had a night out in Grimsby/Cleethorpes and yes it’s what you would expect.
