Honestly it’s probably the weirdest football forum I have come across, I dunno if it’s the old hardcore that have gone nutty or it’s the new fans that don’t have a clue. All I know is none of em like Mansfield

Why does that not surprise me?!

Its what makes it interesting ,some nutts fans think they are massive compared to us ,apparently a few lincoln fans do as well lets just see where it all ends up

Massive? Larger? Historically comfortably larger? Take ya pick Bargain Stag Abroad

Whatever barometer you wish to use will show the same. It’s fact, it’s in the history books :ohy:

I quite like Lincoln. I reckon the people calling them are probably the same ones who complain that no-one in their town pays any interest to their local club.

You don’t see enzo or Viking for ages and they both appear at the same time.

How odd.

Wrong thread for him though

Oh dear oh dear appears you’ve forgotten where you post lad. Oh the irony coming from the guy who posts on every single Notts match thread! Somehow, and I’m not sure how you’ve managed this but you’ve overtaken Spanish Stag on that score. At least he’s retired so has some sort of excuse

Mansfield fans need not worry about the relegation thread but you and ya old man seem to find yourself on there a fair bit. Funny that :lac:

I’ll admit there’s abit of jealousy there, Fair play to them. The last 3 seasons they’ve had are things most of us lower league lot can only dream of. Still it’s healthy to poke fun at the plastic glory hunters every now and again :bg1:

Plus our recent history has been very similar. Spent the last decade playing tinpot teams such as Hayes, Grays, Tranmere, Ebsfleet etc. Both teams now have the budgets to try and get into league 1 (Lincoln are doing a much better job at this)

I refuse to believe it's worse than Luton Outlaws or The Fishy!

It's probably the best forum of the lot. The vast majority on there were posting away on it more than 10 years ago and it goes off in all sorts of tangents at times with some quite quirky posters. It hasn't really attracted any of the new fans, most of them use the Facebook group forums.

Stagsnet have their fair share of anti-Lincoln lot (as there are on most forums about local sides), although yours is the only one I've come across who have individual threads for local sides.

The Fishy is bad but Vitals is so much cringier. Some very sad people on that forum.

Outlaws is in a league of its own, like I say the anti-Lincoln stuff is due to a lot of sudden patronising imps.

Couple of games tonight which affect the top. Exeter away at Macclesfield. You'd expect the Devon side to come away with maximum points, but Macc are desperate for points to keep them in the division.

Newport v Swindon is the other game. Both sides harbour ambitions of getting in the play-offs and (depending on how Exeter do) the winners could be 1 point (for us) or 3 points (for Newport who also have another game in hand) off the play-offs with 5 (6 for Newport) games remaining.

A draw would dent both chances but wouldn't kill it outright. If we lose and Exeter win, the gap is 6 points with an inferior goal difference and we'd start to need snookers.

There are only 2 sides we can overtake that are currently top 7 - Exeter and FGR.

They play each other last game of the season. What’s the chances that both go into that game needing a point each to cement their PO places

If Swindon or Newport get near us we would have ballsed up big time so not bothered by that result.

Macclesfield should see off mid table Exeter.

A win for exeter would bring the last playoff spot closer to the pack, all of a sudden what position from 5-7 Exeter FG and Tranmere finish in would become a lot more interesting that’s for sure.

That could make the top of the table looking a bit different, we'd lose 4 points for a start.
Having said that Bolton have had two adjournments so you'll probably get similar.

Different. Bolton can satisfy short term requirements due to higher cash flow and EFL payments being made early.

Didn't we do that before? Played out a 1-1 draw with Hartlepool (I think it was) which suited both parties. I can't remember which other team was affected negatively, but their fans had a bit of a moan about it for a while. Tough shit I say, should have got more points in the other 45 games.

Yeah, I'd go along with that. The Fishy is ridiculous because it's nature is so kneejerk. Jolley flits between messiah and one game from the sack at an alarming rate. Once you cut through the same 12 page debate about Fenty though, there are some decent opinions. The problem I have with a lot of Lincoln fans online is that they have gone from being this quite unflinching, dare I even say...classy bunch of fans who would gallantly look on as their side floundered to being something altogether more brash and cocky and it doesn't really suit them like it does ourselves. The likes of us, Mansfield and Luton (to use the previously mentioned examples) have always been twats as collectives and are fairly comfortable with that. Lincoln to me don't come across with the same balance of bullishness and gallows humour, they just come across as very smug and quite touchy.

Some people just use forums to vent.

Our main Tranmere forum has a lot of posters that only appear when we lose. The Grimsby 5-2 loss match thread was about 30 pages compared to 8 pages for Colchester away win.

Though 20 pages of that Grimsby thread was probably about the hand of cod.

Well said SoC, I completely agree and the bit in bold made me smile it’s that true aha!

Lincoln fans, just like the actual city itself have always been this strange out of the way kind.

So would we, so not really for you.

However should god forbid that happens - it won’t I’m sure - we’d struggle as bury will have tranmere to play and tranmere lost to bury so wouldn’t lose any points

Self deprecation is/was certainly a strength of the Imps - the fan-base version of 'Football's Coming Home'. Difficult to go from one extreme to the other in such a short period of time, mind. I'm still not sure whether to remain cautious or go into full on cock mode. There's always that nagging 'what if' when it comes to Lincoln because these are, in a good sense, bizarre times.

As I say, Vitals is pretty middle of the road most of the time (which is why I've been on there for 12 years or so now) and likewise most of the Imps on here are, too. If you think Vitals is bad, don't look for the main Facebook group whatever you do. Now that is a car crash of a site.
