East of the a1 yeah. It’s like the place that time forgot road wise east of there.

Like Mansfield to Grimsby is a very easy drive, on a good day you’d be able to get to Grimsby - 70 miles away - faster than Lincoln which is only 40 odd

It's to help keep the good folk from MANSFIELD out.

Is Lincolnshire much different to Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire or whatever county Mansfield is in??

I find that amusing coming from a Grimsby Town supporter . Always confused whether it’s in Lincolnshire or Yorkshire , has it swapped in the past ? Seemed to have an identity issue whereas Mansfield is very much in the industrial north part of Nottinghamshire

I went on the Exeter board after we beat them 4-1 the other week. I didn't post anything but they seemed very polite to say they had lost 4-1.

I don't really like Stagsnet. Posters are very rude to one another especially towards anyone who has an opinion that isn't 100 per cent pro club in every scenario.

Sounds almost identical to Notts County Mad, just full of idiots who are either 100% anti the club and can’t wait to jump on anything negative on or off field or nodding dogs who defend the indefensible . Makes it even crazier that the good folk on here take the time to read other clubs boards and then quote some idiot back on this forum as if every Notts fan thinks the same as one or two NCM users .

Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Hull were in Humberside for 20 years and Grimsby and Scunthorpe went back to Lincolnshire, Hull back to Yorkshire.

I'd rather know where people stand than sitting on the fence, I think. I suppose what I dislike is when someone has an opinion that they post and it isn't anything controversial but other posters jump on it with eye rolling smilies or calls them an idiot.

Our only link with Yorkshire is that cleethorpes is their annual holiday destination.

Like I said I don't really want to get deep but in my opinion having travelled for personal and work around those areas a lot, yes it is. I would like to add Lincolnshire is fully of gammy little villages with caravans too, and the lack of signal everywhere is very annoying

Mansfield is very much Nottinghamshire SoC!
What network are you on? Never had a problem on either Vodafone or O2 up in North Lincs and I've also never seen a single village with a caravan park. I rarely go South of Scunthorpe in Lincs though, admittedly.

Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincs all very forgettable parts of the country if we take out the cities of Nottingham and Lincoln and The Peak District. If the public were asked which counties Mansfield and Grimsby were in, I'd strongly suspect the results to yield very similar results in terms of success rate.

I would be extremely surprised if many people mistake Mansfield for being in Derbyshire, it’s a mile or two from Sherwood Forest for Christ sake, although the border is pretty close to be fair.

Grimsby is a lot more tricky for people because of the Humber.

I think you are either holding the profile of Mansfield or the intelligence of the country in higher regard than it actually is, mate.

You'd be amazed by how many people don't know which county Lincoln is in.

It’s obvious why you would view your own clubs message-boards and unofficial forums but why spend time looking at other clubs message-boards ?

I just don’t get it :dk: surely there is almost endless wealth of much better things to look at and waste your time on the internet than Lincoln City or any other League 2 message-board?

Agreed. About the only time I read another club's forum is when something that divides opinion happens (say a controversial sending off) and I head over to the opposition's forum to see what they make of it all. For ex, I'm sure I checked out Vitals after a 1-1 draw up a Lincoln and one of their lads was sent off, somewhat harshly imo.

But otoh, comedy gold stuff like that Mt.Rushmore business  would go undetected. The best thread on this forum, the tinpot thread, also relies heavily on this sort of thing ;)

Well it’s definetly not the former because self-depreciation is always a fave.

Pretty much agree with most of this excellent post from the GTFC fanzine. Also add that getting Clive Nates on board was a master stroke by former chairman Bod Dorrian. How many chairman would have been happy to go in with the fans like he did at MK instead of being whined and dined with the rest of the directors? Clive Nates along with the Cowleys has been one of the best signings Lincoln have ever made.

Clive and the board have embraced essentially what the fans have been crying out for and with the community aspect it's making supporting the Imps a far more enjoyable prospect. Obviously winning matches is also a major factor, losing only 6 league home games in nearly 3 seasons.

As mentioned, the big test will be what will happen once the Cowleys go and when we hit a reasonably long sticky patch. I am hopeful the board and diverse strengths they seem to have help keep us from going back to not finishing above halfway in the NL for years at a time.

In a strange turn of events Flitcroft has been shipped over to Portugal to look at our potential summer training camp, think a few more pressing issues are higher on the list right now.l like actually getting promoted.

It's good but can't they even write a positive article about us without having a little dig at our "antics".
