He wasn't time wasting at all?! Exeter attacker fouls one of our defenders. Referee awards FK, has a word with the attacker. Farman placed the ball in line with assistant/where the foul took place and the referee asked him to move it back a couple of yards. Farman remenstrated with the referee and was booked for the argument.

Draw was the fair result. You had the better opportunities but in reality they were few and far between. We offered very little which was disappointing. For me our chances of making the play-offs rested on winning today, didn't get it so League Two again next season, probably not a bad thing in reality.

By no means are we in this, especially with the Newport Vs Oldham game. But can't believe with two games we could still mathematically make it being 4points off with two games to go. Goes to show the poor form of most of the teams between 7th and about 15th. There will be a few teams kicking themselves come the end.

Us for instance the two points dropped at Macc after thinking we scored a 94th minute winner. Or the half hearted performances recently Vs Cheltenham, Vale and Northampton.

And yes, I know Newport are right behind on the same number of points, but a draw at Macclesfield today does give me some reason not to include them just yet.

Given that they have a game in hand to play against Oldham next Tuesday, at least one of those two is effectively in the top eight now.

Ah fair enough. Was a bizarre situation. Farman clearly thought a free kick had been awarded, the referee wanted it moving back as he and Farman had words, resulted in the referee kicking the ball away from where Farman had spotted it and then giving him a yellow card.

With 10 to play we threw Revell on for a defender so gave the appearance of wanting to get the win, didn't play like it though. Was disappointing really, if we'd won today I think we might just have scraped in, can't see it now.

Today was the reason I don’t share the other Mansfield fans optimism of promotion.

Absolute dross again, another big and expectant following, another shower of shit produced.

The fraud that is Jorge grant did one thing in the first half which was a dreadful challenge which he possibly could have been sent off for.

CJ and Mellis in midfield were largely anonymous and the fact that they only put the effort in when 2-0 and 3-1 wound me up even more.

Do the players and the manager want promotion or not? Didn’t seem it today

Someone fire up ‘Scorpions’ - ‘Wind of change’ ........... again

**Saving seat for next season's promotion thread**

Has it been noted how 12 of the top 13 play each other on Saturday (by my quick check)? It deserves all the Sky Sports hyperbole that does. Massive.

All done and dusted for us now, although without going all 'if my Auntie had balls', I think we should have sewn both promotion and the title up earlier than we have. Dropped some silly points early in the second half of the season.

Expectation this season has probably meant it hasn't, for me at least, felt as good as 2016/17. That's not being disparaging against the current squad, in fact it's the opposite. In 2016/17, we chased down FGR, then had 3 teams chasing us in Tranmere, FGR and Dagenham but none could quite get close enough in the end and it was us and Tranmere going into the final games but even so, it still felt like we were in a race. The FA Cup and FA Trophy runs will have obviously added to the season feel as well.

This season I can't say that it's felt as though we've been in much of an automatic promotion or title race. We've felt in control and kept teams at arms length for most of the season. Just a really, professional, efficient, no fuss job.

We are 1 point into the automatic places with 2 games left... given that Mansfield and MK Dons play each other on the final day, does this mean a win at Tranmere on Saturday will see us promoted?

We were trying to work that out, if all 3 of us win you’d go up.

If MK lose and you draw they could still catch you
If Mk lose and you win you’re up, if we won as well we’d be 3 clear of them with a GD of around +8 better.

Maybe had our players not put in yet another clusterfuck of an away performance we might already be up, but heyho

Almost but if both win next week and draw their meeting and you get beat by the Vale then GD comes into play and it’s not that big in your favour that it’s impossible.

Given how dire we are away a defeat at MK is more or less inevitable.

Therefore we must win Saturday and hope for the best

I wouldn’t be so sure on MK. After seeing them today the phrase all fur coat and no knickers springs to mind. So long as you don’t allow them to front-run on you Mansfield should back themselves get something.

There really is no pleasing some people. You seem to forget about games you have won or drawn that you maybe shouldn't have, one 96th minute equaliser comes to mind....

Highly likely but not confirmed as you could still lose out on GD in the final day.

Said this about them when they came to Prenton Park. Expected much more. Apart from their goal and maybe one other chance, they offered nothing. Wouldn't fear them if they finished in the playoffs.

Yeah I feel sorry for Luke Imp and other Imps fans tbh, winning the league comfortably must be very boring.

Who fancies who then?

Mansfield are still in a decent position but I have a terrible feeling. Stevenage next up at home then that decided against MK.

Bury are in a great position. Reckon they'll go up. it's probably gonna be a straight fight between Mansfield and MK on the last day. We need to win at Crewe and hope at least one of the three above us don't to go into the last day with a chance.

Bury to go up with Mansfield.

Forest Green to finish 4th and play Carlisle in the playoffs. MK 5th v Tranmere. FGR to play Tranmere in the final and a penalty shootout to decide the winners.

Lump on :bg:

Yesterday was a classic case of Tisdale messed it up for me. Why we took off Agard instead of Harley I’ll never know. Why we brought on Robbie Simpson when we’re chasing a game and Vale’s no.5 had the air covered I’ll never know. Why we even started Harley, I’ll never know.

Someone said a while ago we’ve dropped 17 points from losing positions, and most of them have got to be down to substitutions. I’m sure he’s lost us double the points that he’s won us with his changes.

Stevenage are bound to be proper shithouses at the Mill on Saturday, saying that we have the easiest tie in comparison to MK and Bury.

Yeah Tranmere away is probably the toughest fixture in the league at the moment.

Any chance of Colchester not being shit next week and turning MK over? I don't fancy us getting anything there on the last day so we need to do the job Saturday and pray Colchester win.
