If walsall go up and oldham and colchester go down does that make us the divisions longest servers?

I dont understand how a lot of ckubs like yourselves suddenly can pull 4x youre average home support to wembley that would be like us taking 80k which we dont have that many fans worldwide. At least we only get a few thousand pretenders still seems like so fucking many when im there though
Probably for us because our nearest rivals are 40 miles away so we have a lot of surrounding areas who cling on to the club when it's doing well. Whereas you've got Wednesday on your doorstep for a start and then a whole other host of Yorkshire clubs who's fans wouldn't dare follow Blades under any circumstance.

It's why we have decent potential to be a stable Championship club which will never be fulfilled unless we manage to secure a new/RE developed stadium.

Not checked but what about Swindon? They've been in L1 a while now I think. Also, did Cov come down same year as us or year after?

Edit: Cov was year after, Scunthorpe was the same year though. so they would be equal with you.

Edit Edit: and Swindon came up in 2012 so you and Scunthorpe would be joint.

edit edit edit: damn it scunny only came up 2/3 years ago, it's been a long week

Haha Just delete youre post and write a new one that just says YES

Good old Simeon eh?
Reminds me of 1999 when I was standing at Wembley wearing a big smug grin at 90 minutes, holding a betting slip that said Gillingham to win 2-0......80/1.

I have never bet on a Gills match since!

I rarely bet on Gills games these days, unless it is both teams to score!!

I think its shite too obviously as a stadium its impressive but on days like playoff finals and semi finals the atmospheres are awful its full of pretend fans although we always lose so my opinion might differ should we ever win. I still think id much prefer winning in an away leg semi playoff or away quarter final. And as for england games at wembley well what can i say i believe id rather stick my cock in a nettle bush.

Speak for yourself. Probably the best ever atmosphere I've ever experienced at the Den was against Huddersfield in the 2010 play-off semis. A game that Hudds fans still talk about to this day whenever the subject of intimidating atmsopheres comes up.

Sorry didnt think id wrote that. Thats exactly my point that playoff semis are better than gonna wembley.

Just looked at what i wrote i meant atmospheres at wembley are awful but playoff semis can be brilliant

Play-off semi-finals are fantastic occasions, although my view may be clouded by the fact that we've done spectacularly in the ones we've partaken in during my 26 years as a fan. Binning off Preston, Stoke and even the mighty Rochdale were all tense, atmospheric and hugely memorable matches. The Stoke games especially would ordinarily have made the final an anti-climax until we robbed Wigan in the final 8 minutes of extra time.

Going up via the play-offs is supremely enjoyable, more so than winning the league in my experience, although that might just be me.

A top two place looks unlikely for Coventry now - I think you'd need a very good run combined with three of the top four slipping up.
Still an excellent chance of a play off spot though
Wigan are the big danger, they've used some of their financial clout (they have the benefit of parachute payments) and strengthened well.
Apart from Wigan, all the other teams lost on a day we were getting tonked in the FA Cup.
Some comfort for me!

Excellent results today for Walsall, but not for the troublesome trio as a whole.

Potentially the start of a little Burton wobble? 2 defeats in 3 games against sides you would expect them to pick up points against? Good days for Walsall and Wigan today, the rest of us had shockers.

Don't worry Burton, you've got us next week, any wobble will be more than steadied with at least a 3-0 win

Wigan will have one of the top 2 IMO, as poor as we was today they looked decent and with the Money they've spent in this window I'd be very surprised if it isn't them and one other. Burton and Gills seem to have had a bit of wobble in recent weeks and Coventry for a couple of months so probably Walsall with their games in hand will do it.

Well, quite a mixed weekend for the teams in the promotion race. Burton lost away at Rochdale after picking up a midweek win at Posh. They are still in a great position mind, but coupled with losing El Khayti to QPR, this hasn't been a good weekend for them. Gillingham also lost, 2-1 away at Blackpool. This has handed the advantage to Walsall, who now have 2 games in hand over them.

Walsall went out of the FA Cup, so can now concentrate on their promotion push. They're sure to have a nervy Monday, hoping they don't lose their star players. Wigan are quickly making up ground on the top 2. Got momentum, made some squad improvements and look set to make it a 4 way race for the top 2. Coventry are a team fast heading in the opposite direction. They have a squad that should be easily in a top 6 spot, but are falling fast. 2 wins in 11 now? What's going on Sky Blue fans? Millwall couldn't beat Crewe at home and now have some very tricky fixtures coming up. They've scored the 2nd fewest goals of all the top 8, do they have enough firepower to maintain a top 6 spot?

Sheff U have drawn their last 2 away from home and things aren't getting any easier for them in the next few weeks. Posh lost on Tuesday and drew with West Brom in the FA Cup. That means their game against Oldham will have to be moved for the replay. And if they go through, they'll have an even bigger fixture congestion. Their form and goalscoring has slowed up in recent weeks as well. Southend also didn't play, but have a couple of winnable games coming up. Bradford recovered from a bad loss on Tuesday by beating Fleetwood. Don't look like promotion contenders though, although that could change.

Sheff U v Wigan looks like the biggie next week. Would also keep an eye on Coventry, they are sliding hard.

We've sneaked into this (for now) three home games in the next four games and have only lost once at home all season... Huge month for us now if we are to give ourselves a chance.

No, no , no. That just can't be right, 7th is way too high for you.
Vale are always a couple of results away from the play-offs, it's your destiny to finish 12th.

We usually get to this position then balls up then hit it again and balls up repeat repeat!

Genuinely think IF we can get another quality Centre Half in i.e Reece Oxford our squad is certainly good enough for a play-off spot. Keeping Stephen Hendrie till the end of the season would be great, he's class.
