DippyDon can you change your profile picture please, because every time I see it now I just want to smash Winklemans face in!
That's the exact reason why I've not changed this picture in the 4 years I've been on the forum. Everyone needs his beautiful smile to brighten up their day.

Well if you love Winkleman so much, then why don't you marry him?

David Hopkin has confirmed he will be staying at Livingston.

Can't now think of anyone we've been linked with who gives me any confidence at all for next season. So I only hope our board have an ace up their sleeve, but that's wishful thinking. They're easily impressed by mediocrity and waffle and scared of ambition and new ideas. We got lucky with Curle because he turned out to be a far better manager than his track record suggested, we won't get so lucky again.

Winky is a twat, nuff said
Lots can be said about him from fans that don't know him, and some of that talk might even be true, but there's not many chairmen as passionate about their team as he is. He's missed one game in 15 years, and that was down to recovering from back surgery, and the next week he was hobbling down to the pitch to celebrate promotion to the championship with all the players.
Give me Winkelman over the type that couldn't give a crap about the club any day.

There are lots of people who follow their team up and down the country it doesn’t make them good people.

I wasn't arguing at how good a person he was, even though our answers would be very different considering the bias against him for one decision no matter what good he has done since. For me your point would make for good owners though, people that actually cared about the club they own and took time to go to every game. There don't seem to be too many of them around.

Nobody questions him as an owner, they question him on morals and decency. He probably is a very good owner and I’d agree there seems to be more people entering the game looking after themselves rather than the club they buy.

Talking of MK Dons I was in Milton Keynes when they played their first home game in the Championship v Preston, they’d won their first game away at Rotherham and after never being in the Championship before I expected to see MK replica shirts everywhere and a real buzz around the town for their first home game.
But there was nothing, it was like the club didn’t even exist, just nobody cared.

Really? That season especially I noticed a lot more MK shirts just randomly around the city. Start of the season was perhaps the reason, but throughout that season you could tell there were more random people happy to wear the shirt wherever.

Yeah honestly I saw more Preston relplica shirts that day than MK ones.
My Sister in Law lived in MK until a couple of months ago so typical that you get relegated now that she’s moved or we could’ve made a weekend of it when we play there.

I'd imagine that's changed now, but then again the problem with Milton Keynes being a London overspill is that until a few generations have lived there, then the fans of the club itself will always be a minority compared to the numerous London exiles that live there. You are seeing more and more kids wearing Dons shirts when they go to training however, which when I played youth football was a novelty.

IIRC this was a single event 12 years ago. Let it go.

Askey now being strongly linked to both the Shrewsbury & Bradford jobs, can't really seeing him stay with us much longer in all honesty.

Hopkin, who was heavily linked with us after taking Livingstone to promotion to the SPL has now confirmed he won't be staying at Livi. Good news for Macc fans as he is also linked to Shrewsbury and Bradford.

BBC Radio Manchester understands Macclesfield manager John Askey will leave the club today to become the new manager of Shrewsbury.

He’ll be ‘flattered’ to be linked I’m sure. Then will stay at Macc like the previous 30 years.

Sadly not this time. Confirmed now he's taken the Shrewsbury job.

Not really worth Macc fans coming on here now, they'll be back in non-league quicker then you can say "FA Umbro Trophy"

Looks like Tisdale is on his way to MK Dons then, seems a bit of a weird one but I guess he just wanted a new challenge. Wonder who's gonna take charge down at Exeter then?

Shame Askey has gone, hope he does well, fully deserves his chance - though I still think a pretty big risk on Shrewsburys behalf taking him with no league experience.

No idea who we'll get in!! Doubt there'd even be a betting market for it!!

Yep.

Or we get a manager in with league experience and potentially do better than Askey would have?

No idea really is there.

If you move fast you might be able to beat us to Slade's signature.
