This thread has been long overdue and now both clubs have moved significantly in this transfer window with both clubs making 10+ signings, the bickering seems to have gone into overdrive and taking over most threads!!

Now then down to the nitty gritty... How's that 40 page thread about us going on on Stagsnet these days??? Quietened down a bit and crawled back under your rock after being impressed with our summer business !??:whistle:

They are all in Malta taking it in turns to run through that CEO like a steam train

Such an embarrassment the way they are getting so carried away... It really does speak volumes for how tinpot that club is...

So basically you've created a thread just so you can tell all the Mansfield fans just how much bigger and better than them Chesterfield are yeah?
Quality.

1) we were in Malta and it was a really enjoyable trip, irrespective of who you follow, it was just a group of lads on a holiday with the football thrown in.
2) sat next to a lad called mark on the plane back to Manchester who lived in Chesterfield, but followed man Utd, strangely I lamented him for not following his local club, I'd have been happier with him support that lot than Utd.
3) the Chesterfield and Mansfield derby is obviously far bigger and important than any other down here.
4) we all know she's with him for the money, he's short and odd looking, but very rich.
5) for the first time, rather than the other way round, Chesterfield are the ones with a dodgy as fuck chairman/setup, radford had literally taken us on leaps and bounds, after Haslam he's a dream come true.
6) were favourites for a reason - we've got a pretty great squad - ps - such statements make me feel ill as it'll fuck up somehow, that's what Mansfield do.
7) it's probably the first season (I'm 33 in 2 days time) where we've the potential to finish above our 8 fingered friends, and I've still not seen us beat Chesterfield at home - the recent history in general is on their side.
8) let's look forward to a bit of banter and see what's what, the game at the tesco value stadium at the end of the season could be massive.

This thread will probably bore everyone else the whole season

Tell you what.. If we both do well this season then what a great season we could be in for! Our rivalry is far bigger than anything else in this league as you said, but if we're both vying for a promotion place it will only add to it even more!

Cannot wait for the start of the season now! Looking forward to the standard 3 points down at field mill the most though!!

I dunno, she's seriously fucking horrific to be fair. As trophy wives go she's got to be a contender for the worst ever.

Give it a few years and she'll look like the guy who gets melted in acid before getting hit by a car in Robocop.

I bet this thread is going to be good... At least we're keeping all the embarrassment in one place!

FWIW I think if we finish above Mansfield this year we'll win the league.

For what it's worth, i think both clubs will do alright next season. Chesterfield are putting together a good squad, decent blend of youth & experience (especially if the sign Semedo). They'll be top 10 definitely.

We're still a striker short IMO, Rose will score a few next season, Angol is still a bit raw & Spencer will probably used as the plan B.

We seem to have got tonnes of strikers all of a sudden if you want one. Chris O'Grady, Kristian Dennis, Gozie Ugwu, Ricky Germain, Delial Brewster, Rai Simons... not sure how we're going to give them all minutes

We've already tried O'Grady so we'll have to have one of the others.

Meaning more, we tried to sign him this summer.
Ah, I was looking up and down his history on Soccerbase for a Mansfield loan!
I don't envisage him scoring that many goals, but I can definitely see Dennis bagging a bunch playing off of him. He's a proper poacher and he just needs someone else to do the jumping and legwork

I honestly haven't noticed any Chesterfield/Mansfield bickering. There may be a few Mansfield fans here but Chesterfield really don't make much of an impact on this forum.

Don't even think it's close if you include the wider context of the rivalry and the Miners Strikes etc. Imagine it was fiery in the 80's and 90's but still the last time they came to our place their was 25 banning orders dished out, 2 of whom were to people who'd never been to football in their lives, just didn't like Scabs and fancied a scrap by all accounts.

Saying that I think it will be fairly lively come the opening day when Grimsby are in town last 2 or 3 times we've played each other there has been trouble inside and outside of the ground. Interesting place to go as i'm sure you lot found out in pre season last year.

Really? DIdn't know that. Thought it was just Rotherham and Donny sniffing around. Him and Dennis will be good for us next season up top, and we have decent enough back up on the face of it, albeit lacking FL experience.

That's because us Mansfield lot are amazing, obvs.

I don't think there is anyone on here that's childish enough (well maybe one on ourside - not me lol) to bicker over daft things.

As I said earlier in the thread, arch rivals or not I'd rather someone in Chesterfield support that lot than say man Utd.

With Mansfield predicted to do well, and with Lincoln county and Chesterfield also tipped to be sniffing around the playoffs there could be some big games knocking around the East Midlands.

The last time the 4 above and Grimsby were in the same league we exited the division, hopefully we can do the same, just in the opposite direction!

Don't know if this will rival the Swindon/Bristol City thread of a couple of years back - that got a bit heated at times.

FWIW, I've always quite liked Chesterfield and disliked Mansfield (since Maggie's boys in blue were proper arseholes when we played at Mansfield during the miner's strike). Nothing directly to do with the club itself, I know, but it don't take much to latch on to something in disliking a club.
