1-1 now. Heslop again. Not sure what Torquay fans were on about, hes been excellent since joining us.

Sometimes it just doesn't work out for a player at a club for no (externally) apparent reason.

We've also levelled to 1-1 now. Bundled in after a deflected cross but they all count. Hopefully we can push on and win this.

2-1 Diamonds. Tom Lorraine gets a much needed goal after a head back across the face of it. Need to look for more though really. Despite their league position Arlsey seem to have something about them going forwards with pace in their ranks. A team like that can always grab a goal.

Very true. We've had loads of players written off by large numbers of our fans who went on to do well elsewhere, John Ruddy, Jon Walters etc.

Heslop has turned out to be one of the better signings we've made this season.

This is going to be a long second half. Snedker is bound to get booked for time wasting at some point and frankly I don't care. I reckon there could be a red card at some point too, very physical game.

Ruddy also had a loan spell with us, and IIRC was not rated too well. I think he's more one that just massively turned his career around.

Listening to our match and we were fairly well on top, if anything it was a little disappointing not to get a sucker punch goal to go in to the break with a 2 goal margin, but after going down 5 mins in I'm happy enough that we managed to get the lead before half time. Even better as the original game was abandoned at half time with the score 0-0 so we're ahead on where we were too.

None of our rivals playing today so getting the match on and securing 3 points will put some pressure on them all. We'll be 6 points clear at the top should we end this game with a win, but Egham will still be able to catch us if they win all 4 of their games in hand. Their match at Fleet tonight was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Egham currently sit in 6th. To demonstrate how tight it is if we lose tonight then only Chalfont in the top 6 will not have a higher potential points total than us.

Eastleigh's manager has to be coming under some serious pressure soon, surely?

Ours is the sort of game that FGR or Cheltenham would get a late winner in, so lets see just what we're made of.......

Commentary seems to have died for the second half at the Dog and Duck, but Diamonds have extended the lead 3-1 with Andy Hall taking a penalty after being hauled down in the area.

Just the cushion we needed to feel a little more comfortable.

Paul Hurst tactical genius

(still praying bringing Pearson on works and we don't concede a late equaliser like we always did when he brought Parslow on)

Arnold off, Pearson on, guess the ball is going in the corners for the last few minutes then!

In the time since I last posted Diamonds made a defensive substitution then immediately scored through Andy Hall. Following this Hall was fouled in the box again for another penalty, which he then put away himself to get his hat-trick. 5-1. Great for the GD, and great for Hall, who has now scored his second hat-trick since joining part way through the season. That's got to be the end of this game.

Obviously we'd have preferred to have won comfortably but that's the sort of win we've needed for a while. A late gritty win.

Sounds like we nearly did, fantastic save from Macca in injury time so says twitter.

OK, sometimes I am happy to be wrong, and this is one of those times. 6-1 and now it is full time. Substitute Shawn Richards knocking on the door to get his starting place back by scoring, with an assist by Hall.

Also are Kiddy going for the impossible comeback?!?

Not a hope in hell will Kiddy stay up. It would be an absurd story, but no. No chance. Very good win mind.

They may catch Torquay with a passing wind.

Well they've gone above Torquay now, that's two very good wins in a row. 10 more points to find on teams above them, but they have started to hit form early enough to find them. I'm not saying they will, but a win like this is a real marker. They've got Macc and Cheltenham next, two games they can go in to with nothing to lose. Find a win from either (draws really aren't much good) and confidence will be flying very high all of a sudden.

I agree it's highly unlikely as you generally need about 45 points to survive, which means another 25 to find for Kiddy, but it's not as impossible as it looked last week by a long shot.

What a win, the best we've played all season and a complete turn around from the Gusieley game 2 and a half weeks ago.

Eastleigh are awful in defence, just run at them and you'll be fine. The first goal came from Whitfield picking the up the ball in midfield and running all the way toward the box before laying it off to Maxwell who smashed a great volley into the top left corner. Then in the rest of the half Eastleigh had all the ball but did nothing with it.

Second half after a slow start we suddenly opened Eastleigh up with Maxwell streaming down the left his shot was awfully saved by Pike and Harry White was there to get a home debut goal. Then we fell asleep, 2 cheap goals from nothing crosses and Constable had 2 easy tap ins. then

Whitfield is fouled in the middle by their number 14 who had already been booked and could have gone but we didn't wait quick free-kick is laid into Arthur Gnahoua who goes past 3 players before slotting home.

We're not bottom anymore as well :woo:
