Not a hope in hell will Kiddy stay up. It would be an absurd story, but no. No chance. Very good win mind.

They may catch Torquay with a passing wind.
They're above Torquay after tonight's win, although Torquay have a game in hand (they were awful the other day, so wouldn't count on them winning that). Kiddy are 10 from safety with 14 to play - it's doable, especially with the likes of Dawson in their side. Hartlepool were dead and buried with us last year and still survived.

Also, Eastleigh to drop out the playoffs? Horrible side here, seem to be on an awful run at the wrong time and sides like Dover, Braintree and Woking queuing up behind them (and us, to be fair).

Excuse my ignorance, didn't look at the table properly obviously.

I just think they need too many points that their squad isn't capable of getting.

Very real chance Eastleigh won't make the play-offs; as others have alluded to, they just cannot defend. Question marks over the manager as well. Fourth and fifth look up for grabs.

Dare I dream?

Ntagawala, Gnouha and Fane - the unpronounceables we signed in January has gave our midfield a balanced look i.e. don't get bullied in every game. Ntagawala can really play, we need that lad tied down whichever division we find ourselves in. We'll pick up points from now till the season end, whether it'll be enough I still gather my doubts. Great spirit to get the win after conceding a 2 goal lead but Gnouhas goal was a fabulous solo effort - hope it gets posted somewhere!

Very happy supporter tonight.

Dawson not featuring for Kidderminster in the recent games? Would be fun if they pulled off a great escape.

He's only just recovered from a Hernia OP. Will probably play in some U21 games first.

Delighted with tonight. Best I've seen us for a long time. Our midfield is transformed and I hope we can keep White until the end of the season. Eastleigh had a lot of the ball but didn't do too much with it, whereas we just kept going and eventually it paid off. Brilliant math.

Was apparently for for selection on Saturday but has not made the bench in either of these two games. Why change a winning team!

Get in! Sparrow, you got a skin of the teeth or thread .gif for our title chances?? Realistically, don't see us catching Cheltenham but this maintains that glimmer of hope. With Tranmere finding their feet and setting about wrapping up 4th place we really need to be finishing 2nd. Don't fancy a triple bill of back to back to back games against them at all.

Been thinking about that possible scenario myself. It might all depend on that final day! Here's hoping half your team get three match bans for violent conduct in a mass brawl in your penultimate game... ;)

After you lot taking great delight in sending us down from League One in 2004 (?), I was kind of hoping we'd win the title on the last day and deny you 5th spot at the same time! Doesn't look likely now.

What's the general Brabin consensus among Tranmere supporters now? Is he actually a football genius who failed on purpose at Cambridge and Luton and started the season poorly with you lot, just to heighten the excitement of this late(ish) promotion surge?

Sentiment is changing slightly, though most are still cautious. We can't complain about the recent results, and there are signs the team is finally beginning to gel. Most encouraging is the emergence of the previously absent midfield, but the front line are still struggling to convert.

I seem to remember someone quoting that we haven't won or lost a game by more than 1 goal since November (I haven't checked), so things still feel precarious. Still wouldn't fancy playing you over three games, for example!

As has been said above, things are still up in the air for a lot of Tranmere fans (or the vocal ones, anyway). Personally, I like him, but I must admit even I got to the point where I thought he would be unable to turn it around. That being said, his recruitment, in the whole, has been excellent and we have strengthened in January - Vaughn looks like an excellent signing, how he couldn't get a game for Cheltenham I'll never know. McNulty and Hughes and the rumoured Higdon would make really solid window.

The football has, at times, been a bit boring but in recent weeks we've played better stuff and have more cohesion. He's better than Adams, Edwards and Barnes, so he's OK in my book.

How's Arthur doing for you guys? He playing each week?

He's played and started every game since he's joined, against Gusieley he was a bit absent, can't judge the 2 away games as I wasn't there but against B'wood he won the pen that got our 2nd goal, But last night I was very impressed with his speed and dribbling (as you can see from his goal) the only issue I had was when he was defending he tried to run the ball forward which worked most of the time but sometimes it just needed a big hoof forward to clear the lines.

We were god awful!
TBF to Kiddy, they played well, much better than they have done all season i suspect, and had 3 or 4 stand out players, who could drag them out of trouble.
Not sure what going to happen at our place, but i'm expecting the owner to have a few harsh words with the manager, and if he can't stop the rot immediately, he may well be out of a job by the end of this month. The honeymoon period is well & truly over.

As we learnt under hockaday, strikers won't win you the league.

Not sure i agree, but i hear where you are coming from.
My simplistic view is, every game starts 0-0, so if you don't score, you wont win.
You can have the best defence in the world, but the best you could hope for if you do not have good strikers, is the game staying 0-0 and pinching a point, which will also not win you the league. Its all about getting the balance right isnt it and outscoring your opposition in every game..

Probably better than you've played all season too.

Managed to arrive at a situation where it is very hard for opposition teams to score against us, while still having 10-15 good chances a game ourselves.. finishing still poor. Not as pretty as we would like or expect, but I don't think many fans would care if it meant going up this season.

Once again we have a few matches tomorrow

Alty v Chester - Draw please
Braintree v Boreham Wood - Braintree win please
Cheltenham v Kiddy - I'd take anything from this game
Gateshead v Eastleigh - Couldn't care less

I know the Cheltenham forum has been commented on before and how over confident they can be but to say you should smash us 4-0 is a harsh. Although I did like being referred to as a Carpet Head I'd not heard that one before.

Take it with a pinch of salt. As GJ says, we'll be treating you like a top 6 side tomorrow night, and will have to perform as such.

I expect to win because we're top of the league, at home, and despite your form, we should beat any team in this division at home. But that doesn't mean for a second that I think it'll be easy.

I know not to take it seriously but the carpet head joke did make me laugh. For me this game is kind of a write off as we shouldn't get anything really so if we do get something it will be a bonus. But we have improved a lot since Boxing Day with Lowe, Ngwatala, Fane, Gnahoua and White coming in.

First of two massive games for us this week and we desperately need a win now, been long enough.

Our record away from home and against Alty themselves are poor mind you!
