Altrinchams pitch isnt "frozen solid" the snow cleared on Sunday, Weve had one game in five years frozen off, that being last Saturday. The pitch is relayed every May, and is due to be ripped up May 11th this year as its annual renovations, the forecast is favourable, the pitch pristine at present so apart from a freak weather event Alty v Aldershot will go ahead on Saturday, we could play it this afternoon

Thanks for the information. Quite looking forward to actually seeing us play after only having 2 games in the last 5 weeks. Hopefully we will get a result too!

What sort of crowds do Ferriby get, anybody know?

Should be about 300 of us up there so I'd hope for a crowd of 1,000+. Should be a good day!

Chances are you will outnumber them then. Genuinely.

Good stuff, I was told it wasn't covered and assumed it was open to the elements since the snow went. Uncovered spaces at our ground have frozen and the weather has been worse where you are. Was looking at the temperatures and wasn't hopeful. Good news you are optimistic. See you Saturday.

I may have been exagerrating slightly but its a trophy QF, highest league crowd they've had is 500, small place as well. Glad to see you made it through anyway, hope you dont suffer like we did as well

Weathers ok here, currently about 2/3 degrees with cloud cover and I'm out walking the dog and there's no frozen ground about. Although fairly close to places like Macc, buxton, halifax etc, we are at sea level rarely get really cold temps and snow is an even rarer event here, hence very little need for snow covers

Fair enough. I'd imagine they'll get a thousand. Hope so anyway.

Fancy us to get a draw at least. We're playing well. Similar league position to us, will be a tough game.

"
LOOKING GOOD FOR SATURDAY
Altrincham have a rearranged home game this Saturday at the J. Davidson Stadium when Aldershot Town are the visitors.

As of 3pm today (Thursday) the pitch is described as "perfectly playable"; temperatures this afternoon in Altrincham reached seven degrees Celsius. The forecasts for tomorrow and Saturday are promising so, barring any late developments, the game is "on".

And also don't forget to get your tickets in advance for the away game at Macclesfield next Tuesday (10th). Although that game is not all-ticket, it will save you queueing time and money to buy a discounted ticket in advance. These are available from the offices at Altrincham FC during weekday office hours and also at the J. Davidson Stadium this Saturday before, at half-time and after the match against Aldershot."

Good move, I mean its not as if Droylsden use it for anything inportant is it. This'll be the biggest game at that place since we went there and won 6-0.

That is truly embarrassing, you are having to go to a club further down the pyramid because your pitch isn't good enough.
No point having nice big stands if the ground doesnt have a decent enough pitch to play on.

I see if you win then you have another home tie on Tuesday. Will that be at Droylesden as well?

You should have seen how many games they had called off the year we won the Conference North, seven games in hand still by April.

Aye it's crap but it's down to the weather in the local area and the fact we have the highest ground in the country above sea level. Look at Valley Parade on the Football league show and Bradford park Avenue haven't had a home game since November!

If it wasn't a Trophy tie there'd be no issue - we'd have just had a few games in a row called off. The FA have put pressure on it to be played, so we've done what we can to get the game on.

It's noticeable that it's only the Tin Potters themselves who are throwing that allegation at us. Funny that.

On a pitch related issue, has anyone seen the state of Bradford's?

They never seem to manage to lay a half decent pitch.
