That's...not a particularly reassuring statement. Surely the response to finding out that a bidder is being advised by someone who defrauded pensioners is to immediately cease talks?

Very worrying, perhaps we can't cease talks, maybe they are the only ones left

There's also the possibility that the rival consortium are the ones who did the research and fed it to the press. You can see the logic behind that - it effectively backs Hardy into a corner by severely undermining the fall back option.

Who knows. We're certainly fairly close to a resolution on this now. We'll either be taken over in the next couple of weeks or go into administration. At least the NL accepted us into the league today - a little bit of good news.

Should be the end of talks full stop.

The Club are/were already aware of his involvement by the looks of that short tweet.

If Smurthwaite says he hasn't made a bid, you'll be 99% sure that he has.

Four pages and counting of precisely nothing. No takeover, players, managers, absolutely nothing to keep fans engaged. South Africans entirely silent, Hardy feeding fake news in desperation.

Whereas reading about a fraudster with a new name trying to take over was moderately amusing, it’s also deeply concerning, wtf is hardy doing!

Sounds like he’s pimping notts out as a cheap hooker trying desperately to find a new owner.

More details on the fraudster's links with the consortium. Seems he's got far more to do with it than just being an adviser (as I think most fans already suspected): https://www.nottinghampost.com/spor...lusive-evidence-places-fresh-scrutiny-2969073

It's pretty astonishing how this has developed. Hardy had the chance to walk away from Meadow Lane having failed but saying he'd always had the best interests of the club at heart. But it's pretty hard to make that argument when he carried on talking to these people despite surely knowing a convicted fraudster was a lot more than just an adviser. Like Adam said, what is he playing at...

Thankfully the council is acting in the club's interests. At least someone is.

I thought the name was familiar - I watched the new Port Vale owners fans meeting (got bored one day) and there's no way any sane Notts fans would surely want him in charge after what I saw there?

100% absolutely not on your life NOT!
First thing he would do is get rid of one of our stands.

No-one at this end has even heard of him, so why he's name dropped us is anyone's guess.

This Alex whatsisface claims to have been involved at Darlington, turned us around and got us promoted.

No one has ever heard of him.

Lincoln too. Any if the Imps around to shed any light on this claim?

In this day and age you can just say anything though, no need for it to be true.

Even though it probably is absolute tripe, somehow I can’t see a chairman honestly saying “oh yes, we worked very closely with a convicted conman, have a good day” for all to see on Twitter. That wouldn’t go down too well, let’s be honest.

Thank you for sharing this. Just in the process of writing an email for my MP and local councillors about all this and this is good information to add.

Chances of us being in administration this season are very high. I just don't believe that the health of one man who's essentially a broker would impact a 6m takeover. At those sums, you have contingency

The figure quoted is just odd. 6m, no assets, just a brand... If I was a businessman, I'd wait for administration and go from there. It's a gamble because a 12 point deficit in this division is a mountain to climb, when Essentially you have no players

Our players and staff haven’t been paid today, admin looks a real possibility now and to be honest, there are concerns we won’t be starting the season in the NL at all.

Still favourites though!

Apparently a meeting with all Staff was called at 1:30pm today. There is also a meeting between AH and an MP this afternoon.
The Supporters Association was refused to be allowed to sit in on the meeting despite the MP wanting them too.

We are screwed. As I said the other day, we are definitely heading towards administration. If we get kicked out of the conference it will be a disaster.

Community assets like football clubs need way more scrutiny. Stuff like this shouldn't be allowed to happen

Our debts are pretty large, massive for a non league club. Nobody will pay anything like £6m for Notts, administration would actually be a result. Liquidation must be becoming the most likely outcome by the day.
Hardy is an utter disgrace. His recklessness was entirely unecessary, most fans would have taken realistic over mental last season.

The MP has met with AH and it bodes grim reading.
To paraphrase..

No sale yet. He will sell to the highest bidder no matter who it is as long as they offer sustainability. So we could have a convicted fraudster in charge!
There is no money left, reports that players are unpaid are true. I guess the PFA have to step in at least for this month, but normal office staff I have no idea.

I think we either have a buyer next week or we enter administration as July 10th Court case will just be no buyer sorry we are shutting you down.

When the apprentice contracts run out 30/6 we'll be left with a 13 man squad.
We aren't allowed to sign anyone and if players aren't paid next week their contracts state they can talk to other clubs.
Hardy has killed us. We will struggle to raise a six a side team by August without a drastic turnaround.

You watched a team you don’t support’s fans meeting.

Why?
it was when we were after signing Dior Angus (who we've since signed) and i wondered when their released list was out... and I was bored
