My confidence in Hardy to get a deal done is so low

Wonder how big the tax bill is now

Three week adjournment - court told that a sale and purchase agreement in place with the Danes and they’ve passed the fit and proper person’s test.

If this deal with the Danes goes through then that could potentially be a complete 180 for you guys if they basically turn you into a northern Brentford.

And I don't like Brentford, but they are very well run and are way ahead of many of their peers in terms of their overall strategy.

Lots of if's. Takeover still has to go through and we still need to assemble a team that can compete at this level and get them to gel. Still a long long way to go for us

If you go into admin I guarantee you that big, fat, blue, asset stripping bastard will be sniffing around you. Just the sort of thing he would love.

Hoping you get it all sorted out and come out of it the other side without having that twat as your owner.

It's widely thought he'll make a bid for the club if we go into admin.

Seems like we might finally be approaching a resolution on this? The court was told this morning that the sale agreement is being drafted and there's a definite change in the tone of Hardy's statements: we've gone from vague 'I'm hopeful' or 'I'm extremely confident that...' language to 'I will be exchanging contracts.' Given Hardy's done a great job of messing things up before I won't celebrate til everything is agreed but we might finally be getting there.

Well, we've kicked the can down the road for the final time I think. Absolutely have to get this deal done now. By the sounds of it the Danes have done their bit, passing the tests and proof of funds just depends how desperate or bloody minded Hardy is and the actual price to be paid.
Everything crossed for this to work out for us.

Indeed. We’ve spent the last decade being run by two well meaning but ultimately egotistical and incompetent local businessmen. The idea of a couple of Danes coming in and applying some statistics is like heaven.

Keith Haslam is still about.

I seem to remember quite a few notts fans stating what a good chairman he’s been in the past when at Mansfield..

Thankfully the vast majority recognised him as a sh*t.

Yeah, probably the worst friendly that could be played. I doubt AH will be there of course, he'll probably be playing golf.

This also smacks me as the "Danish" group are either not willing to pay any wages until they take over, to be honest can't blame them or they dont exist.

Would you pay wages before exchanging contracts? I certainly wouldn't.

Still have serious doubts any of it's real. I could imagine we are all being strung a long

Very much in the believe it when I see it camp

I was thinking more along the lines of 'Hey get to this friendly and pay the staff yourselves' rhetoric, it's not even a goodwill gesture it's just an abysmal practise.

It’s a very, very cynical attempt to try and get people to go. Hardy also owns Ilkeston and, for obvious reasons, it’s a game which would ordinarily attract a few hundred Notts fans spending their money behind the bar etc that will likely only have a handful there.

Hardy is desperate. He can't pay the wages, he can't make anyone buy his debt,( the club), he can't walk away from it all although he did apparently storm out of a meeting with his unpaid staff today.
I think the Danes are real enough, we can put a name to them and they've been seen down the Lane, whether they're going to buy us is another matter. Up to £10 million of debt is more than they need to pay for a non league club.
I think what is for certain is that there'll be no more court adjournments so whatever's going to happen will have to happen before the beginning of August.

Christ it’s come to taking money off Ilkeston to try and pay the wages, despite being hilariously tinpot it’s also desperately sad.

How much of the £10m is Hardy's money? And of the remaining debt, has he accrued that under his tenure or did he take it on from Trew (notice that Trew was refused his business licenses this week).

I don't know if anyone knows the exact facts but #hardyout...
Completely refurbished the home changing room
Converted part of the family stand as a indoor pitch
Redid the tunnel (all these you could argue were done far to expensively)
Hired and sacked 2 managers (compensation to both plus extra to Crawley)
Bought 2-3 players for £450k
Had 30+ players wages last season
Hired 2 very high profile board room staff (Fletcher for one) who would have been on a good wage.

I guess there would have been £2-4m of existing debt so around £6-8m of it would be what he spent. Citation needed on actual figures. But in essence he dug the hole bigger and wants that needlessly spent money back.

Ilkeston Town have been drawn out in the preliminary round of the FA Cup today, which could have a surprising significance for us. They’ve not been allowed in the past couple of years because you can’t have two clubs with the same owner take part. On the fact of it, it would suggest that the FA has been persuaded that AH won’t be the owner of Notts by the time the cup starts.

Or Notts aren't entering the cup this year.

Hardy isn't personally bankrupt, his businesses were limited liability, he basically siphoned off everything from his businesses into Notts, wrecking his not inconsiderable empire.
He's desperate to keep his golf club it's all he has a chance of keeping and it seems to be what he likes best.
None of the money seems to have been gifted, it's all loans to be paid back and it's millions we don't have and for that reason a takeover is unlikely until after we go into administration. Even then National League rules state we have to pay back everything within three years apparently, which makes the horror of liquidation so likely.

Basically we have had ol big Al telling us since March it’s close. Sorry if I’m inclined not to believe him anymore.

It’s all been a load of bollocks. South Africans existed but god knows what went on or why it took so long.

Danes exist but will they go through with it? All the while players can’t be signed and if they keep going unpaid will probably walk

The only reason you buy Notts is for the love of football. We have no assets to strip. No pots to piss in. No ground to sell. Hayden Greens estate won’t sell to a developer

Any player sales... food kiosk sales and income? That’s why we stopped buying food! And of course the 2 million sell on from Hugill as the club slumped down the league with little investment in the side.
