Yup, same for me as apparently the sky sports 2 red button wasn't working throigh virgin media which is what I've got.

Yeah I couldn't find your game on Virgin Media yesterday. All I got was La Liga match choice, terrible.

It's disgraceful. But honestly neither should be on red button, they have enough channels and time during the week to schedule both games.

Just re-watched the game, a very entertaining end-to-end match between two very good attacking teams (let's forget about the defending though...).

Conceding on half time once again was annoying, we'd been the better side for much of the half in my opinion. Exeter started the second half with that boost and doubled their advantage. I thought that was it for us after that, couldn't see a way back into it. We got a huge slice of luck with the second but followed it up with a well-worked equaliser. Exeter dominated the final 10 minutes but missed a few huge chances, thankfully.

Just reading the Exeter forum, I lost count of the times 'luck' was used. We've been lucky in all three games this season apparently, just the nine goals scored in those fixtures. They mustn't have realised they're more than a little shoddy defensively too.

The offside goals were very, very tight, it's not as if the forwards were a yard onside. I'd be gutted if that was us, but we've all been on the wrong side of those decisions. We also had a half decent penalty shout, would've been slightly harsh but you sometimes see them given.

Exeter are probably favourites, and I wouldn't be overly surprised if they smashed us on Thursday, especially if we don't look to attack from the start, but I think we're in a good position.

Hi.

I usually just view these threads but I thought with the play offs and all now is a good time to post my own opinion and I have to say that Exeter are a fine footballing side with some good quality yes, but on the other hand they seem to lack grit and are not prepared to roll up their sleeves as much as we are, we've seen this each time we've played them this season.

I just wish we could defend like an ordinary side and have a goalkeeper who won't fumble so much. If we had that then I'm sure we would be considering ourselves as a strong candidate for play off winners and not thinking we'd be the worst team to ever get promoted via the play offs.

By the way it says in our local paper that the referee last night was a Cumbrian.

He's from Lancashire.

as unexpected as O'Sullivan's goal was, you can't put it all down to fluke, it's not as though he takes a hopeful punt or mishits it or anything, he meant to put it where it went, it was a damned good cross which we'd have all been raving about had a Carlisle player headed it in. Instead no Carlisle player gets on the end of it, the only lucky thing for us is that no Exeter player got to it either and it went in.

Home areas now sold out for Thursday night!

Any ideas how many tickets have been sold on your end, Carlisle fans?

Bit of a bummer that it's on the red button again, I have Virgin with Sky Sports included but I'm guessing it won't work?

I see we've sold just under 500 for the return leg so far, if only I had a couple of days holiday left. :ffs:

I guess no surprise we've sold out too and apparently hoping for some returns from Blackpool to make a few hundred more available Be intrigued to see how many they bring. Long tough journey midweek but I was surprised in their low away figures for the overall season. Considering the Home boycott Id expected a higher amount to travel throughout the season to many new grounds. Maybe I mentally have them with a bigger following than they have, as we've been in different Leagues for so long before this season.

I expect those that do make the considerable effort to attend will go home happy as we just don't have the consistent ability but more importantly the mental stones to pull it off. My only caveat is if they can actually rise to the occasion rather than shit themselves as the Kenny will be rocking early doors.

It's difficult for them because a percentage of the gate receipts go to Blackpool and they'll do anything to avoid lining the Oystons' pockets.

The Kenny really is a shit hole, but my word there is no place on Earth like it for a big match under the floodlights. It truly is a special atmosphere. I'd rather fly 10,000 miles for that than a soulless weekend at shitty Wembley. God that York final was a bad experience all round.

To those who attend. Have fun - both Hatters and Seasiders. I'm really, really jealous about missing out on visiting a crappy part of Town, to visit a crappy stadium, eat crap over inflated food, drink bad warm lager in a flimsy plastic cup, endure cramplike fatigue in my legs as for most of the 90 mins I cant remove my knees from my chin and if lucky when I do I get scrapes and grazes up my shins from the seat in front when we score.

I'd pay good money for that crap

It'll be a sad day when Luton leave the Kenny, hardly any grounds left like it in the Football League. I was at Wembley as well for that York final Belize Hatter, remember York's fans rubbing it in afterwards and that Jason Walker sign. Karma that they're now stuck in the depths of Non League.

As for yesterday, Luton were shocking second half, Blackpool played some neat stuff but seemed to lack cutting edge which makes it even more poor from Luton's point of view that they shipped three goals. The first were down to two awful mistakes, the second was a wonder strike and the third was a soft penalty. Nigel Miller reminding me how much I'm dreading seeing Wigan back in L1 being reffed by clowns like him again. Couldn't be any more bias for the home team if he tried. Still think Luton will turn it round. Blackpool struggled to handle them when they managed to go up a gear, throw in a sold out Kenilworth Road, a referee who may be influenced by the home crowd and I think Blackpool will cave in.

Would it be too much to ask for both sets of fans at St James Park on Thursday to unite in a rendition of 'you can stick your red button up your arse?'

i would be less apprehensive if the game was NOT live on tv.....
our recent history of being shown live has in the main been dismal....
all that build up....all that pre-match hype....
i reckon it'll be the same old Luton....letting us down again...:gmc:

If you want to make your seat more comfortable then just nick a blanket from someone's washing line on the way in and put that on your seat......

That now neatly explains where my misses knickers went from our washing line on the evening that Grimsby last visited The New Lawn
Was that her knickers?

Shit, I've been using them to go camping.......

Well I've just watched the highlights back on Player - first time I've seen the decisions and goals back. That cost me a lot of money to see us not turn up in that second half. In the end, we were lucky to only come back with a deficit of one.

We were on the wrong end of decisions in that game though - but over the season we've benefited from them too (penalties from Hylton for instance). You just don't want the luck to turn in a semi final.

I'm still not convinced that the penalty was one, but Cuthbert had been doing it all game. Sky picked up on it - Jones had a pop at them in his interview today. You're allowing the referee to make a decision. But in the same shot there are other players doing exactly the same thing on both sides. Its the sort of decision that you get when a match is on TV. Besides, it should never have got that far - James Justin clearly won the ball.

There was a nasty elbow on Dan Potts early in the game which seemed to go a bit unnoticed.

As for the performance, I think it proved our naivety. We have the youngest squad in the division - it happens. Its just bloody annoying that across the season we don't concede v Blackpool at all, yet our former striker Cully goes and bags a hattrick.

My biggest disappointment was one player in particularly who wasn't at the races at all - Danny Hylton. In these big games, you need your big players to show up. We were celebrating that he got deliberately sent off to remain a part of the play offs, but he lost all of his form. Its like he hadn't trained for 2 weeks.

We'll come back fighting tomorrow night I'm sure in front of over 9,500 Luton fans. It'll be a bloody good atmosphere; the reason why this match is the front match on SS2.

Why was your first leg the main match then? Certainly not chosen for its atmosphere. The reason is because Luton are a bigger pull than either Exeter or Carlisle.

There was a great atmosphere when we played at Exeter on the last day, I'm sure it'll be even better with it being a home sellout. Away tickets are off sale now, just shy of 600 sold.

Jabo could be fit to play, but it's probably still too soon. Shaun Miller made such an impact on Sunday, I'd start him with Proctor, probably dropping Lambe. We can't defend, and Exeter have so much quality going forward, so we just have to go for it.

I'm sure there'll be goals again, I just hope we don't get hammered.

You've seen the game TWICE and your disappoinment in hylton is what you single out in particular??
It wasn't our attack that lost us the game it was the lack of chances our so called midfield failed to create and the unbelievable cuthbert defending in the penalty box ....we were lucky only to concede the one penalty.....
A full house....live tv.....oh dear,you know our history

Nerves have well and truly set in now. Play offs have to be the least enjoyable pre match experience in football. Maybe it's just because we are shit at them.
