One game at a time, just look at the 3 points....

Next stop, Carrow Road. Excited a bit about the next few matches. We will know where we stand by the end of the Easter weekends. It's either on or it's not.

Since Dougie came in Derbys 20 point lead has been halved. Just got to replicate that form for the next 10 and it could be an amusing ending to the season.

Sorry that should read

''OMG WE ARE GONNA GO SECOND I'VE SAID IT ALL SEASON!''

followed by

''OH NO OUR ONLY PLAYER IS INJURED RENDERING OUR ONE MAN TEAM USELESS.GOOD THING THERE ARE ONLY 9 GAMES LEFT OTHERWISE WE'D BE IN SERIOUS DANGER OF GOING DOWN''

Was gonna post that it may not be too late for Forest to launch a late play-off campaign. Bar Watford and Norwich, they're the most in-form team in the league although they still have to make up 8 points on Brentford. Still Derby and Ipswich are in mid-table form (13 points from their last 10 games) and Forest get to play 4 of the top 8 in their next 5 games. Beat all of them and they have a chance. Not to mention a trip to Ipswich on the penultimate day which I can see them winning.

This weekend certainly looks like a situation to gain from for Brentford. 6 sides of the top 8 are meeting each other while Norwich face an in-form Forest side. Brentford host Millwall who haven't won for 8 games and are pretty much down. Surely a banker home win?

Yep. It's a game we really shouldn't f*ck up. Then again, we've only won one of our last 5 games on a Saturday, and lost 3 of those to Charlton, Birmingham and Cardiff, and who'd have thought we'd lose them all?

We absolutely have to take advantage of the fixtures this weekend. I wish Holloway was still in charge at Milwall, feels like a much tougher game now that he has gone.

Some of our fans are saying our run in is too difficult but I'd rather have it in our hands against teams above us than beat teams near the bottom and not be able to bridge the difference anyway.

Every goal and point gained in matches against teams above us will count for double.

It's a huge ask and just seems impossible but we are the team in form and the team with no pressure on. It would take a miracle but it keeps us interested

Setting myself up for a fall here but I'd be dumbfounded if Forest featured. Based on form we're one of the teams most at risk of finishing behind them but I'm still confident we'll be above them come May. 7th though, obviously.

I think Forest would have to win more or less every game to even catch us up, although they do play a lot of the top 8 sides so if they can pull it off then they might have a chance. To be honest though I think anyone below us has too much to do to catch up.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Charlton and Leeds might have the best form in the league :dk:

There are now eight games to go. Let's have a look at how things have changed over the last eight games.
Watford 38 33 72
Middlesbrough 38 32 72
Bournemouth 38 39 70
Norwich 38 31 67
Derby 38 28 67
Brentford 38 12 65
Ipswich 38 15 64
Wolves 38 9 62
Nottm Forest 38 10 57
Blackburn 38 2 54

Middlesbrough 30 28 59
Bournemouth 30 33 58
Derby 30 30 58
Ipswich 30 18 54
Watford 30 25 53
Brentford 30 7 52
Norwich 30 21 50
Wolves 30 0 48
Blackburn 30 0 42
Nottm Forest 30 1 40

Virtually nothing has changed relative to the last play-off place apart from better goal difference. Forest's goal difference has improved but so have others. You were 12 points off the 6th place then, you are 9 points off it today. It's taken you eight games to "earn" those 3 points. You have another eight games to "earn" the extra 9 points.

I can't see you getting even one place higher, to be honest. I don't even see us getting one place higher (it's taken us eight games to "earn" just one point from the 6th placed! We were 4 points off 6th then, 3 points now)

The pace this season is relentless and the last play-off place will surely go to Ipswich or Brentford, and may well be on goal difference. I will be very impressed if Forest pull it off, but it's not going to happen.

Like I said, probably too big an ask, but all we can do is give it a go.

Will take probably 7 wins from 9 which is bloody tough but what's the worst that can happen. We go for broke, lose a few and finish 9th anyway.

Looking at our fixture list, I'd be very surprised now if we don't stay in the Play Offs, with the exception of games against Derby and Forest, it's really not too bad at all...

Millwall (H)
Fulham (A)
Forest (H)
Derby (A)
Wednesday (A)
Bolton (H)
Reading (A)
Wigan (H)

I reckon 6th will need 80 points, and had us on 81 off that run in.

68 and 72 were the 6th place totals for the previous two seasons. I appreciate this season will eclipse those totals but I'd be amazed if 6th needed 80 points to get themselves over the line. :surr:

Yet another injury at Derby. Hendrick now out.

This is ridiculous

Big night for your lot away on Friday night. Home win drags you closer to a battle for 6th as opposed to vying for top 2.

Way too many injuries, could it be to do with training methods?

Guaranteed home win. There's talk of Thorne and Bent playing (again), but we all know they won't.

If we lose tonight then that's us certainly out the race for top 2.

What will be, will be.

A little clarification is needed I see. I meant over the last 10 games from which Watford have 25 points, Norwich 23 (equal with Nottingham Forest but better goal difference) and Charlton 18.

There does seem to be an unwritten rule about how many games constitutes form though. This is not the first time that I picked 10 as a range of games but that someone else picks 8 games. Should it be 8 games?
