Well we probably need to pick up at least 4 points from Derby and Boro but in this league who knows!

Wigan might beat them both...

Our last two games are Wigan and Millwall. Hopefully they wont be fighting for anything by then, usually we have an awful record against teams needing to win to stay up.

I genuinely despair for some of our fans, we were Champions elect yesterday before kick off, their acting like we going to get relegated now

I'm sure this top of the league curse must actually exist

And the first one? Both were very soft, moreso the second one.
First one was a clear penalty.

When you watch Bournemouth it's easy to see why they get so many penalties. Wilson is so fast that he's always likely to get tripped by defenders.

Wilson always goes down far too easily.

The first one also looked dubious to me, and Sky Sports News agreed. The second one however, was ridiculous.

I've criticised Wilson in the past for exactly that, he is really strong for someone of his size yet often goes down too easily in a physical battle. But yesterday was a foul, he committed the defender and was pulled back, suicidal defending from Kalas. Can't defend the Arter one, I feel embarrassed for him because he is such an incredible player he needn't do that.

Either way Boro couldn't get a kick ;)

I think everyone's fans are the same. We were out of the automatic race and having to be careful of not falling back into mid table after the Huddersfield game but now we're going to easily win the league again.

This.

The last one was a dive but the majority they get are due to their style of play and defenders being unable to cope with them.

Ipswich fans must be so proud ;)

No less proud than disappointed. It's a better statistic than a lot of the teams have in this league this season.

All I care about is the next 7 games and I reckon we can finish above the likes of Brentford, Wolves and yourselves. So lets kick on, roll on May.

Whether or not Wilson could have shrugged the arms off him and continued if he really wanted is another question, Wilson is very strong when he wants to be yet also can go down when he wants to. But it was a clear enough foul and penalty. Put any striker in the league in that same position and I think they'd all do the same, which is a bit sad really but that's football these days.

On a wider note about the promotion race, it'll be interesting to see how this international break affects everyone. Bit of a daft time to lose your squads really isn't it, such a crucial stage of the season. And there was a time when we'd be one Championship club with almost no players going away, so we maybe had a slight advantage of getting a clear period of normal training. But as we've come on, more and more of our players have been spotted and called up. Best example is Matt Ritchie, called up to Scotland and admitting that he'd never visited Scotland in his life! So like everyone we lose a lot of our players and have to prey they all come back fit.

I notice Wilson and Bamford have both withdrawn from international duty through "injury"

Always the same at this time of the season. Quite a few squads have had players withdraw with mystery injuries already.

Yeah. We seem to be one of the few not withdrawing anyone (perhaps it's just new to us that we have any players we could withdraw!) which is great, but also don't want it to cost us our already slim chances

Same with us, despite the injuries. Only one to withdraw is Hendrick who is genuinely injured (hence not playing on Tuesday or Saturday last week)

That's what Ince should have done - the professional thing!

I genuinely think Ince wanted to make a story out of it.

Anyway, welcome to 1FF! Always good to see another new Derby fan on here!

I was worried when Ince signed about his attitude but he seems quite level headed in his interviews so far. I'd be questioning why the u21's want a player who is 23. Playing for your country at that age should be about development to the senior side, not winning all games. Development is so much more important than winning lots of games.

Thanks for the welcome. Was a long time lurker on the last forum and another, although the other forum has no Derby fans and is dominated by the red part of EM so prefer a more balanced population.

It's strange, as that forum had quite a few Derby fans back when I was a regular on there.

Yeah, and Southgate calls up 2 goal Cauley Woodrow over 27 goal Benik Afobe.

It defies logic on how such an inept manager is in charge of England's academy sides.

Jonny Williams back with us for a third spell. Absolutely fantastic. :woo:

Fryers also in from Palace which should see us well without Mings for the next two.

Really could be the difference in us just getting in or just missing out.

Better late than never to be honest.

Thorne came back quite easily and we won both games he played. Martin doesn't exactly rely on pace. I'm hoping they both start

With Eustace having another operation, I think Thorne has to start.
