We'll be there or thereabouts. I wonder what some people expect sometimes.

People expect too much. I predicted us to finish around 8th, not because I'm pessimistic but because I've followed enough football to know that recently relegated teams don't find it as easy as people think they will. After 26 games, I think we're definitely able to finish in the play-offs but feel anyone expecting/hoping for top 2 is going to end up really disappointed. People say it's only 8 points but we've won 5 of our last 7 and still haven't even been able to get back into the top 6 (and only four points needed making up do that!).

I'm expecting Bournemouth and Ipswich to drift away, they will sill make the playoffs, but am not sure they have the strength in depth. The again, I fully fully expecting Burnley to do that last season

It was a tongue in cheek comment. Saturday was terrific and our result of the season for many reasons, but it wasn't a great performance. It was the perfect away performance for a derby match, particularly second half. Got in their faces, pressured them and made the ball stick when we did manage to get it forwards. It was perfect for that match, probably not going to work long term. There are a lot of issues on the pitch at the moment, but hopefully that win gives SP some time. It's clear we aren't going to challenge this year but we need to give him time. It's ANOTHER season with pretty much a brand new starting XI, that is not just going to click and win you a league.

Patience, patience.

I didn't believe it when someone told me Forest had won 2-1. I watched the first half before making my way to the slaughterhouse (Vicarage Road) and could not believe that Forest had got out of their own half TWICE!

Agree.I think it will be Derby and Middlesbrough who end up promoted.

Big opportunity to go 4 points clear tonight, would be good to have that gap with our next one Watford at home

Annoying that you, Boro, and Ipswich all play your game this week, whilst ours is next Tuesday. Puts a bit of pressure on us v Blackburn if you all win and open a gap.

It seems that other team fans still think we'll finish in the top two, I'm not so sure to be honest.
We'll be in the play-offs in my opinion :(

Oh and hello to all :bye:

If we don't find some consistency, we will be.

Key difference to last season is we have barely ever played the same eleven every week. It's unsettling.

EDIT: Oh, and welcome to 1FF!

What are Bouremouth playing at? Letting Town go top, unacceptable.

This is when we usually bottle it!! Got a few players back so we should be able to name 7 subs tomorrow :p

A draw though wouldn't be an awful result now and would certainly tighten up the league!

Yeah, I did consider you bottling it but then saw you're playing a Hughton-led Brighton...

Best team we've seen this season by far was Middlesborough. Neither Bournemouth or Derby looked anything special against us (beat Derby, should have beat Bournemouth), Ipswich looked like they would grind out a lot of wins, very clinical and strong.

I reckon Ipswich and Middlesborough for Top 2, Bournemouth close behind.

Once again, we find ourselves with the possibility of going top and it's in our hands. Should win tomorrow night by all means however being only a point behind Bournemouth before kickoff I wouldn't be kicking and screaming if we only manage a draw.

Should win it though, right???

Brighton are a drawish team, we can go top with a win - it's got draw written all over it.

It's also the teams in between us and the top two. We need them all to have a drop in form and I just can't see that. Before the season I thought we'd start slowly, Adams would get sacked and we'd make a late run and finish between 5th and 8th. Whilst we didn't start that slowly it is still looking like similar to that might happen. I would be very surprised if we finished anywhere other than about 4th to 8th.

I'm just hoping that loss makes our players realise they still can't take anything for granted and that they all have to work as hard as each other.

In other news Will Hughes' injuries aren't bad and could be available to play Chesterfield, not that I want him to play them mind.

I think if Forest win tonight they will put a run together to get back into the playoff mix.

Derby have been the most impressive team at the Vic this season, but if we perform like we did against Charlton more often we could be up with them.

Perform like we did against Huddersfield and we will be mid table.
