Nailed on loss for Derby now we are on TV. Gutted.

If you're worse than Blackpool we will win. Anything better and we've not won (other than Wigan away which we got battered first half in)

Yeah we beat 10 man Derby in the cup. That was one of our few decent performances this season though. If it wasn't for the cup run Steve Clarke would be under pressure than he already is.We are crap and will lose. The lack of faith is because we are not very good.Derby will win comfortably.

Please just beat them. Do it for me.

Well we drew with Blackpool last month, and probably were quite fortunate to have got that result as we were so poor.

I know we aren't great at the moment, but Christ you would have thought we were about to go bust with the amount of pessimism from our fans here

We could lose, our defence is capable on that but we have also scored 11 in 3, so I think we should win fine. But y'know, our pessimism will win out

I was taught a lesson in February not to be optimistic. Not making that mistake twice!

The pessimism in this thread
you know it's bad when I'm more confident of us beating Fulham - a team we've not beaten in my lifetime no matter how shit they are - than Derby fans are of winning/drawing against a Reading side that gave up on league football in February and have only been able to match Blackpool's form over the last 9 games. I get they're disappointed in how their season has crumbled but they don't even need a win. A draw will do - unbeaten in 6 and having drawn 6 of their last 10, they've shown that even if they can't win they're hard to beat.

'The state we're in'

If Rammy got his arse into gear and sorted out some Championship awards thread, Derby would be a shoe in for most pessimistic fans, you're in the play-offs ffs. You would think they were on the verge of relegation to the conference north and bankruptcy.

Might seem rosey from the outside but we're far from being in good shape at the moment.

From being 5 clear at the top to potentially missing out on the playoffs, these last two months have been nothing but horrific. 2 wins in 14, mountain of injuries, shipping tons of goals... We're in a state, there's no hiding from that.

I like that the Riverside has been half empty every week, but they sell out this weekend and it turns out the game doesn't even mean anything

I hope we make 11 changes tomorrow. We're going to lose anyway so might as well give the players a rest.

I'm of a similar opinion (apart from the we're going to lose bit), but I know many other fans want us to go as strong as possible so we go into the play-off's on the back of a win.

I can see both opinions, but I certainly think some players need a rest. I'd play Rudd instead of Ruddy, maybe Garrido ahead of Olsson (or put Whittaker left back, Russ right back), and I'd like to see Vadis and O'Neil get a start, which would allow us to rest Tettey and maybe Howson or Johnson. Hooper definitely deserves a start too.

I don't fully agree with Sky's choice of games (and I'd agree even less were I not fortunate to get a ticket for Sheff Wed after the game supposedly sold out weeks ago) but Ipswich seems a logical choice. Despite the pessimism among Derby fans (and Reading, but that's perfectly understandable - but both teams can't lose!) their game really looks a home banker, so therefore it would surely be more logical to show Brentford vs Wigan, as with only a three goal swing required I can certainly see them pipping Ipswich for the last play-off spot.

I'm torn between which one of them I want to get it though. It would be a great story for Brentford (arguably just as good as the media-fuelled "fairy-tale" that is Bournemouth, if not better) if they were to get into the play-offs and potentially do what we did 16 years ago, but if Ipswich do it they could be playing Norwich in the semis (don't think there'll be a final between them, because I think Boro would beat Ipswich). Despite not being a fan of their football if their game against us at the Vic was anything to go by, it could make for a great atmosphere if those two East Anglian rivals meet again. Will depend how much Ipswich want it though, they may be just happy to play for a draw at Forest, while Derby overtake them to 5th.

Personally I think our best chance is to play Boro in the semi's. We beat them comfortably at home and just met them at the wrong time in the away game (we were in poor form and they were full of confidence ahead of a huge week for them). Now the confidence is back, I think we could beat them at home and go to hold it at the Riverside.

I would be more than happy to go for a point at Forest however the game is actually at Ewood Park against Blackburn :bg:

Never really a sell at the Vic as people don't always turn up - they try to get people to "exchange" their seat for charity.

Sorry I got the teams mixed up, I knew you were playing at Blackburn. Probably because they're of pretty similar size and have been in and around the top 10 without really looking like getting promotion (plus the fact you played Forest the last game).

I was still pretty fortunate to get a ticket though - even if a few have re-emerged in the last two days, they haven't exactly been selling them like hot cakes!

While I don't think we will, you do realise we can make the playoffs right? It's not a forgone conclusion that it's only between 3 teams like you say in your post.

I hadn't forgotten about you lot, and yes it's certainly mathematically possible, but sorry mate I just can't see either Brentford or Derby (who only need a draw) slipping up.

Unlucky to be missing out on a play-off place with 78 points, but carry on your current form into next season, and I think you have a good chance of automatic if not the title, as I think the division will be quite a bit weaker.

Cut the act.

No act. If you'd seen our defending lately, you'd know why we're so pessimistic about tomorrow. The only way we get anything is if Reading are already in holiday mode.

I really hope we make the play offs because we struggle to carry on form between seasons! For years we'd be relegation form first 20 or so games (possibly sack the manager) then have play off form the rest of the season and end up being the first to not go up or down! This season has been an exception to the norm

They've been on holiday mode for the past month and a half.

Reading are poor - you're statistically proven better than them, and I wouldn't put it past you to emphatically win tomorrow.

They have absolutely nothing to play for - and you should have more than enough to outscore them, even if you are really that bad at the back!
