Big 3 games or so with Brentford and Bolton away plus Norwich at home.

All tough where I feel we will need to be at our best or have some good luck as per today.

maybe but given how cocky and wankerish some Norwich fans are being on twitter, I fully expect them to start winning again soon so their fans can start being cocky and wankerish again.

There are fans of both clubs who seem more interested in how the other one is doing than their own team. Doesn't make any sense to me but each to their own.

Looks like it, and stubbornness from McCarthy. He knows we played 433 in our good run, and he has stuck with 442 for the last month. As well as having a RB at RB in the good run, not Chambers (CB).

Can see play offs disappearing if he doesn't do something.
I completely agree Tom. We played 433 successfully earlier in the season, we've now got 3 good strikers and we've got better options in central midfield than wide. It doesn't make any sense not to try it again.

I think lack of depth is a factor too, we've got players who can rotate in midfield, but the first choice defenders and forwards have played basically every game they've been available for.

Well now we can look ahead to Tuesday. We've hopefully got ourselves back together after a ropey few weeks now, these last two wins have been very good. But Tuesday will be a great barometer. I think Tuesday was talked about more on the trains back from wigan than the actual game we'd just witnessed.

It'll be a hard fought game on Tuesday, with the odd goal nicking it. I think Derby will come away 2-1 winners.

The wheels have well and truly fell off for us. Why are we still persisting with 4-4-2 tonight Mick?

What a match! Well played Derby, Bournemouth didn't have a shot on target in the 2nd half and resorted to hoofball for the last 15 minutes. The Rams ARE going up!

We should have won that comfortably tonight but like we have so many times this season we made it hard for ourselves. Need to sort out our concentration at the back if we want to achieve anything this season.

What a difference 60 minutes makes, it's turned into a very good night to be an ITFC fan.

Much, much better performance. Murphy is just unreal.

Master stroke from Mick? ;)

To be fair, Mings on for Hunt at HT and moving Parr into left midfield as he has done a couple of times before this season really gave us an extra dimension.

We have Wolves, Watford, Blackburn and Ipswich in our next 4 games. Really tough run of games and could be the season defining run of games.

Mings and bru changed the game for us, skuse upped his game and made the 442 worthwhile! Sears looks a decent signing, another assist.

A much needed boost to the team

Our defence tends to play better against better teams, probably because they can't go to sleep.

I hope Sears starts again at the weekend, sounds like he had a good game last night and added some much needed pace.

with our defence, we'll be lucky to get 3 points from those.
I've missed those posts. It's good to see that despite Norwich being in a good spot for the play-offs you still play down your chances.

Still undecided on us, was working last night but our win sounds like a very counter attack away from home win, lots of blocked shots from Huddersfield but clinical finishing from us, Afobe seems to have been a good purchase on current form so pleased that is working out well, think it's good we are away on Saturday as we seem to do better away than at home at the moment. A win against Norwich would put us above them so I would have to stop being skeptical then I reckon. Still think we lack a decent CM to go alongside McDonald though, and would expect us to lose to any of the top 6 sides we still have to play.

He got caught offside a few times when he shouldn't really have but he looked like dangerous all night! He was gutted to go off as well which is never a bad thing

I cant see us getting anything at your place so I think you'll get 3 points from us, but as you say those fixtures look very difficult.

Yeah I agree with the part about another CM. I like Price and Evans, but I feel if we are to be serious about mounting a play off push, we need a more powerful presence in midfield as against the better teams in the league we seem to get found out easily. I remember Brentford at home last month, and their midfield had a field day against ours, how they didn't get anything out of that game is beyond me.

A lot of rumours seem to be saying the CM we are looking at is Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, but I'm not sure if he is much of an improvement on Jack Price or Lee Evans to be honest.

Isn't Grealish more of an attacking midfielder though? saw he played between the striker according to what the County fans used to say about him.

We've thought about Grealish as an attacking midfield/winger option, don't think he'd be much of a powerful midfielder?

We were rather envious last night of the loans Derby have been able to acquire, a real injection of quality. A fresh face is a good idea and makes me wonder why we spent all transfer window looking at one specific player. Howe has always been one for squad continuity and being incredibly picky about who he brings in - let's hope he's struck the right balance and hasn't gone too far with the squad harmony thing.

Personally, I think we have too many "luxury" players who can turn on the magic but only intermittently.....VLP is one, arguably Sako and Edwards are others. We need a McDonald 2. Is Henry that man? We seem to have no shortage of proficient wide men, but the centre looks a bit same.....Evans, Price, Edwards....

Agree that Grealish is not the man though.

I reckon we have two vacancies.....replacement for Stears and replacement for Price.

I'm hoping this isn't a honeymoon period for Ince and he will be this good for the rest of the season - If so what a player.

I can feel a George Thorne V2.0 coming, he goes back to Hull but they don't want to sell, goes on a massive strop about not being let go and after numerous bids is let go, only to do his ACL in his first friendly...

Ince has been spectacular in his first two games, that's for sure.
He fit's our formation and tactics superbly, so hoping this isn't an initial few good games after signing.
It will be interesting to see how the formation / tactics may change now that Martin is out for up to 4 weeks.

Indeed, big test for us now. I don't recall us ever going more than a game without him? Since Mac came in he's been pivotal to how we go about our business.

I can't believe how much he's improved after his initial loan spell. Such a good player.

Big win for us today to bring us into the top 6. Massive game away to Watford next week, not feeling too confident about that one.
