Looks like Bali Mumba has probably played his last game for us, stretchered off in the final minutes with what looked like a nasty one.

Been a fantastic player for us this season. Questionable at the back but incredible going forward.

Another injury to add to the list, how we are still where we are is amazing. The spine of our team has been gone since January.
Hope you get over the line automatically....Along with Wednesday you have been the best two teams since August but i fear Ipswich have now surpassed you both and i doubt you have enough to win the play-offs

I have to agree. If we capitulate now and end up in the play offs then thats us finished.

I have a strong feeling that our game at Portman Road could be the one that Ipswich need to win to get promoted.
That will be an interesting afternoon!

That's more than likely Portsmouth and Wycombe out of the PO picture today IMO.

Probably fair, even though on paper we have an incredibly gentle run-in against sides who are either consistently awful relegation no-hopers, or on the beach (although there’s a very very slim chance that both Pompey and us will have something to play for when we face each other on the final day)…we’d basically have to win every game at this point, and hope other results go in our favour, which is never going to happen.

We’ve been hit by injuries to key players at exactly the wrong time, and sold all our strength in depth in January. :ffs:

And that, plus the teams above us simply have more quality and consistency.

Ah well, we’re not on the beach yet, the players need to keep it going for now, but this will likely be the first season for a long time that we haven’t had anything to play for on the final day.

Difficult to disagree with that, other than I reckon Barnsley will leapfrog Wednesday into third.

Wednesdays slump is starting to look terminal. 0.29xg against Oxford is pretty alarming. 4 points from 6 games now with 4 of those matches extremely winnable. Whereas Barnsley are still playing very well and were incredibly unlucky at Burton.

Not that it matters but I reckon we'll finish 8th. We're in better form than Wycombe.
I have to be honest in that i think there’s a chance now Barnsley will be out of it by the time we play them. In which case they may make some changes to save legs for the playoffs. That would be huge for us. Reason I’ve got them behind Wednesday is purely on fixtures to come.

Great end to the season though for all four sides in the running.

Wednesday have dropped off at exactly the right time for us.

Think Ipswich will win the league, they look unstoppable at the mo. The signings they made in January showing their worth.

We’ve got a few injuries but still fancy us at this stage. Yesterday was an excellent result considering last weeks Wembley battering.

I think it’ll be;

1. Ipswich
2. Argyle
3. Wednesday
4. Barnsley
5. Bolton
6. Peterborough

Bolton to win the play offs.

Its not over yet. You're still top. Ipswich have got to have a bad spell soon. They can't keep winning surely

Difficult to see who is going to beat us. Nerves could play a part though, but Keiran McK hopefully has demonstrated the man management skills to avoid that pitfall.

Peterborough and Barnsley away consecutively is as tough as it gets at the minute! If you take 6 points from them you fully deserve to go up.

Said in the Easter games thread, I picked up on the nerves today. Feels like a big missed opportunity.

It's crazy that Wednesday are still top despite their wobble! The outcome of the games in hand for Plymouth, Ipswich and Barnsley are going to make it interesting in a couple of weeks albeit it's Ipswich vs Barnsley.

Nobody seems to want to press on and grab this league by the bollocks

Seems like this is turning into one season too soon for Derby. My money would be on Bolton to hold on to that sixth spot at this point even if they themselves seem to be a little bit fallible.

of the most likely 6th place contenders, Bolton certainly have the gentlest run-in.

Sat 15 Apr A Oxford United

Tue 18 Apr A Burton Albion

Sat 22 Apr H Shrewsbury Town

Tue 25 Apr H Accrington Stanley

Sat 29 Apr H Fleetwood Town

Sun 7 May A Bristol Rovers

Derby’s is tougher:

Sat 15 Apr A Bristol Rovers

Tue 18 Apr A Exeter City

Sat 22 Apr H Burton Albion

Sat 29 Apr H Portsmouth

Sun 7 May A Sheffield Wednesday

Peterborough have got a couple of stinkers in there:

Sat 15 Apr A Cambridge United

Tue 18 Apr A Accrington Stanley

Sat 22 Apr H Ipswich Town

Sat 29 Apr H Bristol Rovers

Sun 7 May A Barnsley

Right, time for us to fully derail the gargoyles promotion run in. Gonna stuff them 4-0.
Huge, huge game. Pressure really on Argyle after Monday's defeat and Exeter are on decent form.

Well, we have lost two in a row but I see your point

Won the previous 4 home games and unluckily lost to Bolton with a higher xg. I should have added "at home" when I said decent form, admittedly.

A hell of a bottle job from Wednesday given their kind run of fixtures. Barnsley still sniffing but I think too much had got to go their way to get top two.

Two from Bolton, Posh and Derby for the final PO spaces.

Looks increasingly to me that it will be Derby who just fall short. Suppose then they can throw more at it next season now they'll have a good grasp of what's required and Warne has had a pre-season.

Right now Barnsley must be fancying it in the playoffs. Other than that hopefully Plymouth have the title sorted before the final game.

Massive day of results! Wednesday really have lost their ass at the wrong time
5 points clear of 3rd with 2 games in hand to finding themselves needing to win their last 4 games AND that still possibly not being enough to recover is one hell of a collapse.

All in the matter of 8 games against mostly bottom half teams. Crazy.

I just remembered Flint plays for Wednesday, he will get a cracking reception tomorrow night :bye: Played against him pre season for Stoke and he had the mobility of a beached oil tanker

To be honest, it's embarrassing if Wednesday don't get automatic promotion given their budget. I've said it all along...I could have got them into the top 6 but their manager was never going to be good enough.

They still might get automatic promotion or even go up via the playoffs but really they should be walking this division.
