Interesting viewing that, not least as if we hadn't found some form over the last five games we'd be rooted at the bottom. Also shows how fortunate a number of us are that we had reasonable starts.

Pretty remarkable seeing Newport there given they are still right in the playoff mix.

Crazy really for 25 games we picked up 16 points which is relegation bottom of the league form... the other 15 we picked up 34 points which walks away with the title form. Bonkers season, had we not had those 15 games so far we’d be gone. On the flip side it shows what we were capable off and huge inquest required into what happened during them 25.

Newport seemed to nose dive after losing Twine didn’t they? (Think they lost another player as well on loan?)

Been a few sides dive down though, Colchester, Vale, Walsall, Carlisle and Newport seem to have picked up a little bit to keep themselves in the hunt, we did our kick back just too late.

yeah - they lost Jamie Devitt who was recalled by Blackpool so he could make a permanent move to us - and who promptly got the late winner for us against Newport on Good Friday.

It's striking that there have been far more losses at the top end of L2 (even without FGR's form) over the last 5 games than at the bottom, who've all been ticking over.

Worrying that it could be all but over in two weeks. Draw v Crawley, Lose v Exeter.

Col U beat Oldham, Barrow draw v Carlisle and Orient, Walsall beat Col U

8 behind, 4 left.

this is a big weekend for sure;-
IF Southend and Grimsby lose and Colchester, Barrow and Walsall win then the fat lady is back stage doing her vocal exercises.
But if Southend and Grimsby win and the other 3 lose it's squeaky bum time for fans of all 5 teams...

What baffles me a bit is that still quite a few of our fans on Twitter say that Hurst has to shoulder some of the blame if we’re relegated.
His first load of games were played with the shite that Holloway left him with and he has turned us into a team that whilst is still not brilliant, is much better than the team he inherited.
I get that his subs are sometimes baffling but that aside he couldn’t really have done much more and if we are relegated then only one man is to blame and that man is Ian Holloway.
The fact remains that we are worse off in the table than we were under Holloway. Yes performances have improved but Hurst has made some awful in play decisions that have cost us numerous points imo. He failed to get somebody in who could at least bang it into the net on a half regular basis (cue people saying they don’t exist) and still appears to pick favourites like the good old days. He also failed to move quick enough in January, meaning we started Feb up shit creek. He doesn’t deserve loads of the blame but he’s played his part IMO.

Presuming this would be Colchester if it was even true?

Surely Colchester can’t have run up £30m of debt? Everyone knows we were a complete basket case running up debts for years before being taken over, and ours weren’t even a third of that. Struggling to see how any League Two club could be in that much debt tbh apart from maybe Bolton.

It's unlikely that a £30m debt would just be inside knowledge, so presumably this serial bullshitter is chatting nonsense.

I'm sure Clarke implied there were money issues at Walsall before he left, but we all know there is only one club at this level who operate on that kind of deficit...

Both our administrations were on debts of £2 million roughly so would be very few clubs able to build up to that debt level apart from Bolton, maybe Bradford at a push.

As I also understand it for Grimsby or Southend to get a reprieve said club would have to finish within the points now of the relegation zone so if it’s a 12 point deduction if said club is over 12 points clear of 23rd the deduction would be next season not this as past the 28th March for this season. (Or promotion) this was to stop a tactical administration when a team is like 13th and the punishment not affecting anything.

Colchester or Walsall would fall into the reprieve category but that would be massive debts for a club that size.

Don't Colchester owe most of their money to Cowling though? Why wouldn't he put them in admin and lose it?

And hasn't that arrangement been in place for years? Seems unlikely the chairman would pull the plug and condemn them to relegation.

Unless he feels the points deduction would be bounced until next year. Few places are picking up on this now, seems to have something in it

Worth taking it now if they could go down anyway? National League though are funny about accepting clubs in administration aren’t they so would need it done quickly as if they go down and do it next year down there they’d be toast?

Especially as he said only days ago that they'd move forward stronger next season off the back of his budget cut this season.

Hope we do a 'Stevenage' and stay up at the expense of Colchester; straw clutching twat that I am. Sadly, it will not happen, it's just a rumour at the moment, even if it is growing in popularity in North East Lincolnshire!

Near enough all of the £30m to the chairman's other businesses, of which the football club is part of the overall holding company. No idea on the technicalities of it all but it has always been a case of the numbers being pushed around the balance sheets between the businesses, presumably to minimise tax losses etc.

As Luke says, in his interview a couple of weeks ago he said that we were fully up to date with all payments this year and hadn't deferred anything like the majority of clubs. Can't see the logic in doing that if this was going to be the next step, so I can't see that there is anything in this (assuming it is implied as being us).

Everybody seems to assume it's your club, but it is most likely no club at all, just a nerd thinking they are clever and phishing or whatever it's called.

Apologies if this has already been shared but its quite the statement.

There seems to be a penchant for football chairman (the Bury one was king) to put these kind of bat-shit crazy statements up on their main websites, wasn't there one not that long ago about Port Vale having a moan about referreeing decisions, or did I dream that?
