It's HG.... Carlisle are the worst team in the entire football pyramid and stand no chance of getting another point this season. The fact they won't get relegated this season and end up comfortably mid table will just be a mere fluke.

I seem to recall Carlisle fans saying they were going down when in the top half last year

7 wins in our last 33 league games. Our stinking form has carried on from the back end of last season.

But worryingly the performances are getting even worse as the weeks go by. So the longer we keep Beech, the worst that stat is going to look.

Football league maybe, not pyramid.

We could easily stay up comfortably in mid table if we sack the manager. We have players certainly capable of holding their own in the middle part of this league.

We were very average today. We were never in control unlike our game last week against Exeter.

As the great man said…….funny old game.

Wonder how many season tickets we'll shift in the National League next season?

You really think you are gonna finish below Scunthorpe and Oldham?

If Oldham keep McGahey and Piergiannini fit, they have a more than competent CB pairing. Bahamboula is a bloody good player, too.

Having said that, Dale were woeful in yesterday's 1-0 defeat, but would still have won bar hitting the woodwork twice and an excellent save from Latics' keeper...

We had Bahamboula on trial before the start of last season.

Wellens didn’t fancy him!

Carlisle have already bagged one of the bottom 2 apparently, so they only need to finish above 1 of them 2....
We’re by no means certain to go down.

It all depends on how swiftly we sack Beech, and whether we replace him with someone competent. We have players capable of keeping us up, but they are being terribly misused and mismanaged right now. However if we don’t change manager then I’d say it’s extremely likely we’ll go down.

Only just seen where Stevenage are, thought they would have kicked on after a decent second half of the season last time. Back to being usual strugglers?

Just from past games against them their biggest strength was always engaging in all kinds of shithousery and dragging other teams down to their level. Seem to have evolved from the Westley era now and maybe lost a bit of why nobody liked playing them. Against us to be fair they tried getting it down and play certainly first half though maybe are a little too reliant on Elliott List.

Can’t imagine they’ll be in any sort of trouble though.

I thought Stevenage would do well as they made some half decent signings on paper and did well second half of last season.

We went 17 games and only 1 point in 2002/3 until a win at Mansfield started our survival form.

We went 20 games without a win in 17/18 (6 draws 14 defeats) and then went and picked up 13 points from our last 5 games and stayed up.

Mansfield always do that.

Not scored a goal in 1,637 minutes?
Not won a game since august 1626?

don’t worry, go to mansfield, they’ll fuck up and help you out.

I’d be happy with all 3 of those at Dale. Crap performance from us Saturday but Oldham really didn’t look as bad as the table would suggest. I think the whole table will be quite tight. I’m yet to see a side that looks exceptionally good or bad.

Chester fan here. I try to keep up with the efl, but doubt my team will compete in it again in my life time. What is the problem with Oldham, is it anothe case of bad ownership like Macclesfield, who incidentally lost on Tuesday to Oldham tream AVRO fc.

very much so, i don’t like how all the teams struggling are in the north west, not that i’d wish it on anyone but go do it to some irrelevant club in the south east or something!

As an outsider looking in the issue seems to be a series of poor owners and being badly run for the best part of 10-15 years. The ultimate established league one club (was it 20 years in L1?) now looks threatened with non league. if they were run properly I’d imagine Oldham have the potential to be a half decent League 1/Champs yo-yo side like Rotherham or Peterborough with similar crowds of say 6k-9k. A period of success in the 80s and 90s means they’ve still got a half decent fan base that could come back.
Still, basing it on one game I’ve seen and comments from other fans of teams who have played them I don’t actually think they’re that bad a side.
