Rochdale will be fine I think and it takes a brave man to put money on Mansfield for the drop as I don't think their owner would accept relegation without doing everything in his power (£££) to stop that from happening.

Salvador said and I quote 'Not seen an outstandingly poor or good side yet'. I won't comment on the poor sides but I have long held the belief that you don't need to be outstandingly good to go up. I think it's all about the ability to bounce back after a bad result. See FGR for instance - they were defeated by Swindon on their patch then won at Scunny 7 days later. Then their response to a 1-1 draw at Orient was a 3-1 home win over Salford. Port Vale's another good example. A loss at Sutton was followed by a win over Barrow and then another win over Col U after they had dropped 2 points at Stags. I think you can where I'm going with this.

Mansfield don’t really need money spending, a good L2 CB would be handy but now our players are coming back I think (hope) our results will start improving.

Carlisle United may well be going down, but hellogregory won’t be.

If the club gets relegated to that cesspit of a league, hellogregory will not be making the move down to the non league forum. No chance.
Why, it’s loads better there than in here.

saturday was vitally important and in fairness it was something we’d been threatening for the last few games, we drew with port vale and really should have won and were unlucky against exeter.

After sunderland we’ve a run of games in the league where we can hopefully pull away a little, stevenage away and scunthorpe at home will be important games

Well in that case you won't want Grimsby promoted then. In all seriousness I do see a lot of poor football in this division but after watching a few Conference games on BT sport I've got to say that the 4th division is better. And don't get me started on drums. In fact saturdays TV game looked like Barnet were still playing behind closed doors.

I don’t mean that the football is better I mean the non league forum is better, it’s much more active than in here and much more light hearted, a few too many wet lettuces in this section.

I’ve just placed £150 at 11/2 on Carlisle’s relegation this season.

If the worst happens, at least I’ll get a little bit of compensation.

I don’t care, it’s still non league. I want no part in it.

There are no benefits to being in the bananarama league, it’s as wank as it looks and sounds.

There is a huge difference between the two leagues.
Every team I’ve seen ,barring Bradford have tried to play football, while
the bulk of NL teams play hoofball, while trying to con the ref.

I can only base it off what have seen on BT but it appears to me the real difference between L2 and the conference is our league has more depth all down to the bottom. Have seen it this season whoever it is you play in L2 if you’re off your game you’ll lose regardless who it’s against. Seems to me in the conference there are a number of knock over jobs that you only have to turn up to beat outside the top half.

The other difference is you play sides where you don’t know where they are.

I appreciate as towns go, mansfield is pretty average and nondescript, but as we’ve historically been a league club people know of it.

Not a bloody clue where wealdstone is tbh, if you offered me a grand to name what county it was in i’d still not have a clue, it’s somewhere down south but that’s all i could tell you.

Literally you’re looking up these places and you’re like, who!?

Have to disagree with you on this one Fish. What about the wet lettuces in your part of the forum? I won't mention any names but they all support ex FL clubs and while they enjoy taking the piss out of the smaller sides they just won't put up with any legitimate criticism towards the club they support*.

*though support is not exactly the right word as I do get the impression they hardly ever go and watch their teams. And not because they're tied up at work or live in another part of the country/or abroad as that would be a perfectly valid reason for not going.

Is that because the fans of stockport, chesterfield, notts county, torquay, grimsby and such try to pretend they’re a league club while also playing someone or whoever called wealdstone?

In before Wealdstone gets promoted next season like Harrogate and Sutton United in seasons past and starts tearing it up against League 2 teams like Mansfield.

Says all you need to know about the “quality” of the conference if that happens. joke of a league.

I actually quite like it when traditional old school non-league clubs come up here. I’m talking about your Sutton’s or Burton Albions who do it the proper way. It’s why if I look at the conference right now I think my preference would be for say Altrincham to make it to the EFL not that it’ll likely happen. It’s the Salford type hobby clubs I have an issue with.
