On tonights performance they’ll be more than safe.
Not so sure about ”fur coat and no knickers“ Bolton though!
No need to worry about us.......Sooner or later the penny will click that he has better youngsters not getting a game than the Blackpool Fylde coast Journeymen

Dear National League, please do the right thing and null and void the season now, you know it makes sense.

Signed:

Grimsby Town FC
Southend United FC
Stevenage FC
Barrow FC.

National League to vote separately to North and South so may see the top level of it carry on.

Think National League will come to an agreement in some way shape or form.

There’ll probably be a decision by Tuesday which, if we don’t beat Stevenage on Saturday, could be a huge nail in our coffin

Mess though if one or two don’t want to play on how can you force them to take on debt? Possibly furlough and Chuck in the kids if NLN and NLS stop playing knowing no relegation thus integrity of the league is gone.

You’ve not been in that league before, have you? It’s organised chaos at the best of times, the powers that be won’t mind, they’re experts at ‘mess’.

The only bonus of all it carrying on is that us and Southend will only need a budget of about 6 quid next year.

We might be next year! Sounds a delight!

If we go down I envision our fans talking about record points hauls and promotion only to lose the first home game to Dover 2-0 and stumble around to a 15th placed finish.

Have you forgotten about Wrexham, mate? Next season will be like we've never left, Hurst will have a top 3/4 budget and get shit for losing in the playoffs and not winning the title despite us not having the top budget.

Dover were our first opponents back in the Conference in 1997, we lost 3-0. I remember my uncle telling me we'd reached our peak and the Conference was our Premier League.

5 years later we were kicking off at home to Wigan in Division 2.

The New Salford eh? I can't speak for Lew but rest assured I haven't. I'm watching every single thing the two celebs are doing there with great interest. For future reference like.

I have to say I'm greatly saddened by what has happened to a once proud and generally well respected club.

I thought that we’d piss it when we went down too, then our first game was away at Crawley who had fat bastard Evans in charge chucking stupid money at it and we beat them 1-0 and that just cemented it for me that we were 100% gonna romp to he title.
Then the Saturday after we played Hayes and Yeading at home and lost 2-1.
Think we finally finished 11th.

Have to be honest in 2008 after our first relegation to this level in 25 years and going through the great era of the 90s etc I assumed we’d easily jump back out of this league... boosted further with a 3-1 win at Luton opening day before those tinpotters Accrington came to Vale Park with 6500 season ticket holders in the ground... 0-2 defeat and our season pretty much went sour... lesson learnt!

One thing you can guarantee with vale is no matter what division we are in we always finish in the bottom half of the table. We are just one of those teams that never seem to achieve anything.

Yeah well done you managed to pick the one season where we actually finished in the top half. We have failed to make the play offs in any division since 1993 and only had 2 promotions in 30 years in 1994 and 2013 so are a failure club year after year.

Are scunny in the playoff thread now? Gives me faint hope that any team can get out of this and any team can fall into it

We've built a nice buffer but we should still be looking behind us, a bad run of form and we're right back in the mire. It's been a great week but we've beaten three out of form sides and we've not looked amazing.

Today has settled it for me, don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like what happened and I can’t see us coming back from it
