I feel a little easier tonight, Tuesday night I was convinced we were nose diving down to the National League but having seen Southend today adding to Grimsby a few weeks back it’s hard to see a case for either finishing outside the drop. We battered them both result wise and cruised the other at Southend in October.

We looked a far better outfit with the return of Gibbons and Montano today along with Devante Dave and Manny so hopefully we can get a decent centre half in Monday and get back to the Vale we saw early season.

Bottom four is starting to get cut off and even then Stevenage had a little buffer on the other three. Grimsby have had a horrific month though, playing all the sides down the bottom and picked up a solitary point.

It’s hard to see either getting say 40 points at the moment. Grimsby have an awful Feb on paper too.

Southend I feel for as finances have played a part but they were literally kids most of them who didn’t look ready, both times they just looked like a poorer version of some of the B teams in the Pizza Cup.

Their experienced lads like Hart limped off today and think Warburton is out too for a while.

Sad to see as a good sized club.

Today has settled it for me, don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like what happened and I can’t see us coming back from it

The season we got promoted, we conceded a 90th minute equaliser at home to Nottingham Forest in what felt like a bit of a promotion six-pointer. Straight from the kick-off, the ball was rolled back to the full-back, he played a long punt forward and we lobbed it over the goalkeeper to immediately go back in front - we even found time to score a third deep into injury time. It was the sort of moment that just gave you that feeling that we were destined to go up that year.

I imagine it is the same in reverse when it happens against you, as it has done today. Just has that feeling that it's somehow written.

I started reading this as though it was you that conceded and you still went up, so I started to feel better.

Then I realised it was you doing the scoring and now I feel fucking worse.

Bring on null & void

Dont matter how they come up with the 2 teams but come up with them they must....After all Barrow and Harrogate came up without actually winning the league and finishing runner up.
We was all but relegated through mis management....and the skip rats had a genuine case that they should not be relegated, [ thats being put right by sending a opposition player off now each match]

If the NL do end their season, then nobody should be promoted. Hope they don't as it would be good to see the likes of Torquay back in the FL.

Looking at the clubs who have responded so far, it looks almost certain NL will continue.

However it seems North/South will probably stop, meaning no relegation from NL. I do wonder how the EFL will feel about that.

Yeah I don't think the EFL will be fussed, it's the promotion places that will be a worry for them but as Lew says, quite a few Club's are wanting to continue it seems.

EFL won't care about NLS/NLN

It’s more the integrity of the NL that they don’t have relegation yet are expecting teams to enter the EFL.

Then again, it if is cancelled then ours won’t have relegation either.

Pretty sure that the EFL stipulated there had to be relegation in the National League last season if they were to accept ours and Harrogate's promotion. As pointed out, it was about integrity of the competition.

The Times reporting that it's likely now that all three NL seasons will be terminated, as early as this week.

If we do stay up because of The National League's inability to carry on I will be very relived, I'd also feel sorry for the clubs pushing for promotion; but only a bit!

Lads, don't wank yourselves silly just yet, clubs still haven't received the resolutions that were supposedly being sent out today, the word of one MD at a struggling NL side isn't the consensus of the rest of the league.

https://twitter.com/Ollie_Bayliss This is the man to keep an eye on for information that is actually correct.

You wont stay up through the National Leagues inability to carry on.....the top 8 will most certainly want a play off situation where the top two go up........may be one from the north and one from the south

Yeah, they could have a mini league amongst themselves; I am sure that would be enough to promote the top two and keep the integrity of the National League!

the thought of being in the conference with this happening is enough to make me shudder.

They couldn’t organise a piss up at a brewery.

Also looking like null and void, wank away lads!
