Been a while but Berlin was class! Plenty of raving done. Didn't manage to make it into Berghain as the que was huge but we did a few clubs around Suicicde Circus, Riverside and Tresor which I thought was the best of all. Only resident DJ's were on but enjoyed them all. Listened to some pretty weird Trance/EDM set in RAW Club which was an eye opener, the locals went mad for it.

Stealth Club in Notts this weekend for me. :cool1:

Nice. Ah those names bring me so much joy. Sounds like you got around as well. I do like Tresor - that ally way to the basement floor is brilliant for setting an atmosphere isn't it? Glad you made it to suicide circus. :) I liked it there and Adam X plays often so I hope to catch him there one day. Can you remember who played or names all lost from memory?

It's a brilliant city away from the clubs to. What time did you try to get into Berhhain? After 8 in the morning the queue is normally okay. We didn't bother even going to have a look the first time we were there either as there so many other places to try

Glad you had a good time and I'm a bit jealous.

Whats going on at Stealth?

Yeah that alley way was brilliant with the flickering lights and the music getting louder as you got closer to that bottom room. Awesome experience.
I've got no recollection of any of the guys that played, sorry mate.
Our hotel was just around the corner from Suice Circus so we hung around there quite a bit, landed on our feet with that one.
We tried Berghain at 2, still early really. A couple of my mates wanted to watch the boxing that night which kinda killed any motivation to go back and dance so we called it a night after MayPac had bored us to death.

Definitely will be heading back as like you say there's so many other places.

Just a normal night at Stealth tomorrow, resident DJ's with a few pals. Nothing special.

Yeah we hung around there when we first went. There used to be an old bus serving food and drinks which we used pretty much every night. On the last night we'd planned to go out but got chatting to the bar lady and some other people there so stayed all night. Some Turkish bloke came over pissed right up and my extravagaint hand gestures confused him to the point where he tried to bite my finger and then threw a bottle at us.

We then met a polish squatter and he said he would take us to the best view in Berlin. Ended up in some massive abandoned building with great views. He was sound and found my bristol accent particulary funny. I kept asking him at which point he was going
rob us of our money.

What was the name of the hotel might check It out?

Anyway enough of my stories. Enjoy Stealth. No raves for me at the moment. :(

catching up on some 2014 cheese

I know it seems like every time you post in here right now, I post to say how much I dislike it. However, this is essentially what Gammer is trying to do right now isn't it?

Love MC Stone. Great MC voice. No idea what the hell he is saying half the time, but he gets it. When to MC. When to shut up.

37:45 on here. Stone and Shimamura in perfect unison. One of them voices that just owns the room. I reckon you can hear him reverberating around the arena when you're having a piss next door and he just grabs you when you walk back in. Like when Wotsee was breaking through. Just controls it, like Pirlo.

DJ/MC and DJ Combos I have never seen that I want to see...
Force/Styles & MC Junior - will never happen
Druid & MC Sharkey - old skool perfection
Red Alert/Mike Slammer - yesssss
Shimamrua & MC Stone - I will see them

Ended up at a drum and bass party yesterday on a roof. It was pretty shit. Ivy lab are awful I have no idea why people fuss over them and Utah Jazz was just as bad. Far to much summer music being played but spectresoul was okay.

I suppose it was fun and the atmosphere was alright.

I'm hoping to get to the One Dance festival on Streatham Common in July, the D&B lineup looks good and I'm utterly swayed by Rat Pack and Baby D performing on the Old Skool stage.

John Digweed has got another one of his Live In... CDs out at the end of the month, the last one was probably one of the best mixes I've ever bought so I'll definitely be purchasing the new one.

Oh yes, You're Shining. Absolute classic. Remember this getting a few reboots too (Scott Brown and Hixxy both did pretty good remixes, if I remember rightly). Got absolutely rinsed all over the country in about 2007 as well for some inexplicable reason. Got played 3 or 4 times at a Totally Lost It I went to, then a few times at both a night I went to at Ministry of Sound and at West Fest, all within a more or so of each other.

Also saw Baby D doing a live PA at the Que Club, she just came on and did I Need Your Loving and Let Me Be Your Fantasy, bit of a let down. Ratpack played that night though and were fucking ace! Couple of poor quality videos, but you can see how rammed it was in there. The second one is terrible, but has a few snippets of how great a main room that club has...

Who else is on that lineup, KM?

I have had enough of living in Bristol, there is nothing of interest happening here for me this weekend. There is a pretty cool all day thing called Urbfest going on but it's all Raggatek etc which I don't really like and then there is a another open air thing going on which will be mainly tame house music and "GOOD VIBEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Blugh!

Then there are some smaller standard dub and dnb nights but nothing that grabs me. I think it's more annoying that there is stuff going on but nothing that I'd particular like to go to.

I can't see us coming back here after our travels.

Here is a Stanton Warriors mix to enjoy :) https://soundcloud.com/stantonwarriors/stanton-warriors-podcast-038-triple-j-mix-up-exclusive

The Drum and Bass stage has Nicky Blackmarket, Hazard, Grooverider, Mampi Swift, Phantasy and Logan D.
The old skool stage also has Pied Piper and Philgood and Ram. There is a garage stage which has DJ Luck and MC Neat! never really been into garage, didn't know they ever performed together anymore.
For a £15 all day festival it looks worth a visit.

Nicky Blackmarket is such a legend. Still have some of his Slammin Vinyl tapes I think. Not seen hin for years but he's always in Bristol.

Went to the day time house music thing and it was alright. Quite a lot of Acid being played which was great.

There was a "collective" playing though and it was wank because they were just playing records. Like being at your mates when everyones trying to play their track on you tube.

Other than that though it was enjoyable.

I think Nicky Blackmarket is always everywhere! He is superb and never seems to slow down, reminds me of Hype circa 1997 when he seemed to do 2 gigs a night every night without fail.

Yeah Nicky Blackmarket still smashes it. Mampi Swift could be good, too. Probably one of the few drum n bass DJs who plays new stuff really well, on my opinion. The garage stage could be fun too for sure, always attitude at garage nights/in garage rooms up north though.

Nice bit of DnB from Philth and Agman, the album sounds good!

EDIT - It's actually an EP and was out last month! Will grab that I think, it's a while since I bought any DnB.
