Apparently Rodhad destroyed Hydra on Monday morning. He is easily the most consistent DJ I've seen in recent years.

No I've not had the pleasure of going to Hamburg yet but my mate really enjoyed his time there. Not to sure on clubs I'm afraid. When are you going? It's definitely somewhere I'd like to visit.

He's doing a free party in Liverpool next saturday, I'm in Swansea for the Eveton game though so won't be able to go. Should be a decent day.

Yeah I was just looking to see when I can catch him but can't see anything I can get to. He's playing the Friday at ADE but already got plans.

Not sure if I'd enjoy a whole night of him from listening to his sets but the stuff he produces is always well produced and often beautiful.

This is cool, out on Bedrock :)

And something a bit different to what I'd usually post..... (Not that different though I guess)

A mix I did back in August. I was feeling a bit more inspired by the dub/deep techno that month so it's a bit more mellow than normal with the odd banger thrown in. Have the tracklist somewhere if you want to know a particular song. :)

Its a bit shoddy in places as standard. ;)

Saturday was rubbish which is a shame as it cost me £25. Just about saved by Dave the Drummer and Chris Liberator.

25 is steep for that lineup. Nobody that makes you think wow. A few alright jungle djs though. Did you not catch any of Brockie or Randall? Pilgrim is fantastic at the old skool too. Producer is also brilliant, but that Jack Horner guy isn't a good MC. There are only a handful of MCs that should be MCing over hard techno. Basically, book Ribbz or don't bother.

Funny you should mention Ribbz cause that's what my mate said. Went there for a mate that got gripped on our way in. Awful night mate.

Is this the same mate who, ages ago, you played that Red Alert and Mike Slammer mix to and they liked it? If I do end up living in Bristol you might have to hook me up with this person!

Also at the expense of sounding like an old fogey, what is "gripped"? You mean they got their whizzbangs taken off them on the way in? Or arrested even?!

Ribbz just basically talks too, by the way. Very understated style. No frills, no ruining breakdowns, knows when to shut up. Absolutely synonymous with the hard room at UK hardcore nights. I don't think I know a single person into hardcore who doesn't like Ribbz. Quite often jumping around in the crowd during his sets too.

No it was another mate who loves his Hardcore but I do have a few acquaintances/mates that are into their hardcore/hardtek.

Yeah he's not too obtrusive in those tracks you've posted, what is that people enjoy about MC's though? I can sometimes enjoy them at a DnB night but they still seem pretty unnecessary. What do they add to the night?

Yeah sorry Gripped means she got caught. She's in her 40's, I've told her loads of times it's not 1992 anymore and if you want to get stuff in then you have to be a bit creative not just have it in a pocket or somewhere they can easily get to. She had it in her inhaler, they kicked her out, no second chance etc. Her own fault really. We only went because they were going and we know not to do that as we're pretty picky with our music and every time we follow others we don't enjoy it. That being said the people who went and loved Fantasia anyway seemed to love it so I don't think you can take my word as gospel.

Ah well. Ben Klock was quality on Friday, I got pretty drunk as on my best behavior due to my second medical trial coming up on Wednesday but just about remember it all. Took the couple mentioned above and they said it was the best night they've been too for a long time. :) Not often we get top Techno guys in the City so it was good to see a sold out crowd which will hopefully mean more night - but not oversold.

They've pretty much done what I wanted to do if I had the money, one main guy on the line up and him playing all night pretty much. I also reckon it'd be cool if you could build a reputation, like Jaded and then just stop announcing line ups. Just a poster saying where the next party is and you find out whose playing when you get there. No tickets on the door. Something along those lines. If I won the lottery I'd just chuck a small fortune at it, probably go bust but would have a lot of fun along the way. Would have to be my own club too.

Heh, I've met him a couple of times. Not the most sociable of people but it goes with his oeuvre!
And Chris Liberator and Dave the Drummer? Those guys are still going? I used to go to the acid techno nights in Vauxhall back in 1997. I still like the squat party ethos of the scene but my tastes have changed a lot since then!

Yeah they're still going strong playing every week pretty much.

I always like the idea of them but the problem with free/squat parties for me is that the music would always be hit and miss. Plus not being that well connected I wont hear about them until late and by then will have other plans. That said I have found a psy trance crew recently so will check them out, though they had to cancel their last one.

Amsterdam Dance Event for us next week. :)

Probably our favorite Psy trance mix of all time, shame we missed it at the actual festival.
