Just bought a Bueno multi-buy from Tesco. 4 packs for £1.50. I'm proud of this savvy purchase, as the corner shop sells them for 70p each. So a maximum saving of £1.30.

Guy I work with, his missus works for Ferrero. I've almost made myself sick on Bueno, he brings hundreds of them in. I've actually gone off them a bit now as a result, which is a shame as I used to love them.

It's one of the worst things, getting bored of something after eating it too many times. My ex will attest to that.

Had you learnt how to cook more than beans on toast you would still be together.

Total expenditure: 83p

As you can see, like the scotch egg fans I too got peckish before the taking of the photo. The rest of the courgette is currently cooking in a curry next to me.

And the sights and sounds too, you don't get market traders shouting out their bargains on the fruit and veg aisle at Tesco.

Last one in my survey of this fascinating and provocative range of vernacular UK street foods.

They emerged from the microwave glistening, looking like nothing so much as sweaty, slim, uncircumcised, fake-tanned penises of the sort wielded by the pre-op transsexuals who appear in the pornography I definitely don't watch. Said parturition was accompanied by the unmistakable, nostril-flaring, almost eye-watering tang of urinal ammonia, which I fear may settle in noxious pockets about my kitchen, to haunt me for several regretful days to come, as I unwittingly stir them from their hateful rest.

I confess that I could not face the accompanying mustard sachet, and so disregarded their "Serving Suggestion" and garnished them with HP BBQ sauce instead. The texture of the sausages (scare quotes) was so distinctive as to severely tax my mediocre wordsmithy. They had the mouthfeel of fluid filled balloons. Firm yet immediately, satisfyingly yielding when subjected to sufficient mandible pressure. To pierce their skin with my teeth was to bite through the mucosa of one of those bright green poison gas capsules from The Rock, only to discover that the interior tasted of nothing much, actually. A severely over-salted, mealy sort of concoction, I suppose. With disappointment I note also that they failed to produce in the bread the eight million degrees Kelvin, water-logged-cum-steamfilled effect that makes consuming their Quicksters brethren such an exhilaratingly treacherous affair, the culinary (and I use the world advisedly) equivalent of competing in the Grand Final of the Tandragee 100 blindfolded.

A solid contender for the nastiest thing I have ever eaten. Highly recommended.

Thanks.

Citrus Magkeolli: ₩1,680 per bottle
Spaten German lager: ₩2,000 per can
Nivea Dry Comfort deodorant: ₩8,200
File thing: ₩2,800
Jesus Loves You popcorn: Free
Total: ₩20,860 or about £12.60

Totally driven up by Korea's expensive deodorant prices, but the blow is softened by the free popcorn.
Edit: No idea why Tinypic has put that photo the wrong way round. It's not like that on my phone.

Keeping yourself from smelling like a tramp seems to be a comparatively expensive endeavour in Korea. I'd give it up and get more file things.

Thanks for the information.

And thank you for apologising for the incorrect formatting of your picture. Certain posters (WHO SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS) would never apologise for such an error. It was a nice touch. Class.

I would like you all to know that I had a fantastic set of pictures for this thread. A £3.70 Tesco create-your-own pizza (10 inch, thin base, ham, mushroom, peppers and bacon), a £1.50 Tesco litre bottle of generic energy drink and a £1.10 Rustlers Deluxe (I repeat, Deluxe - it being on offer does not diminish the deluxe status of this burger) beef, cheese and bacon burger. Imgur decided my pictures were better uploaded upside down.

c***.

I always thought the tangakeolli sounded derissus in principle, but every time I had it I was disappointed.

Have you tried peanut mak?
Yeah I thought citrus magkeolli would be overkill. Actually, there is an alternative brand to the aforepictured one and it's terribly tart and only 3% booze. The one above is delightful though, quite subtle and 6%.

Not tried peanut, but chestnut is probably my 2nd favourite outside of the non-zany flavour ones (after that citrus). Is peanut any good?

Not really, no. Quite expensive too, ~W5k a bottle. And not so easy to source unless there's a peanut festival going on. But, something interesting to try.

I never saw any chesnakeolli. Sounds vile, but something i would like to put in my mouth regardless.

Of the flavoured ones i think honey was my favourite. So delicate. So subtle. And you know mak is all about subtlety. Doesn't lend itself so well to a portmanteau though.
