Of course it is Salty.....it's hole is where you stick your head in.....:bg:.....Believe it or not I've been to Moscow (School trip round about 1970) and I bought a Balalaika. The change I received for my purchase was chocolate foil covered coins. I complained to our teacher but she told me to shut up in case the shop sent for the KGB. Ziiiiip!

We have a balalaika too lol!

So which of your families started the band?

Would like to as heard good things about it. Most apparently are light and subtle but seem more 'engineered' than Scotch. The prices for them are very high though and a lot of then only come in 50cl bottles so they can make more money out of them per ml. One day I will get a couple though.

With your name though I do fancy an Indian whiskey called Amrut Fusion, apparently it's excellent.

Saw this on discount last year around this time and regretted not getting it. Back down to £25 at Asda so thought I'd take the plunge. Never had a Johnnie Walker before, and the double black is a blend of mainly Caol Ila and other smoky whiskies, so I should like it even if its watered down to 40% ABV. It is a blend though so can't be too critical of that.

i recently purchased a nintendo switch, which was a surprise because it was rumoured there was a 4 month waiting list for them. but no, there were loads in the shop and it was dead easy to just go in and buy it and that. here's a pic of me and my pal oscar playing some gran turismo on the way to school.

I want a whisky to drink without a mixer. Nothing fancy or over the top, just a solid drink. What should I be looking at?

For a malt go for Glenfiddich 12 which is very smooth and quite tasty, and they are on specials all over the place at this time of year. Highland Park 12 has a little bit of everything in it, sweetness with a hint of smoke on the finish, if you want to get a bit more into it. Heard decent stuff about Jamesons and Monkey Shoulder too which neither will break the bank as well.

Indeed the amount of money I've spent on those six causes a bit of blushing! Worth it though I hope! :D

Me and my schoolmates used to down Teacher's or Bell's.

Cheap and nasty.

Oh aye when I first started drinking whisky I only knew of Bell's, but I'd have it or a Southern Comfort and coke (or even a Bailey's with ice!) at the end of the night when on a pub crawl. It was my dad who started giving me some bottles of Glenfiddich or Grouse for a birthday; then one time he gave me a bottle of Ardbeg 10 and it changed how I felt about it, I never knew you could get smoky whiskies and it was glorious! After that I got some Talisker's and Laphroaig's and then I was hooked!

Back onto Bell's though, I remember downing a quarter bottle when I was a teenager (I was a lightweight drinker back then!), tried to climb a foot high mound when heading back home - fell back, and fell asleep on the ground! Finally woke up, found a cab, was sick in the cab but just all over myself, then got dropped off at the bottom of my area where there was another much more substantial hill. I decided to climb it, gave half way up, then fell asleep again for a few hours! Must've been only 15 hehe. The other year I had my worst ever hangover though, as I was playing an MMO with clan mates who were American, and it was Independence Day there so they were on celebrating and getting smashed. I decided to join in. I drank two bottles of whisky that night, and I was hungover for nearly three days afterwards. It was a hell of a night though by all accounts!

Cheers pal, saw Glenfiddich on offer the other day so was hoping that'd be alright.
