Take the Adidas name away and they look like something you'd get for a tenner at Brantanos.

The Provisional Brotherhood
Kryptonite D-lock for a bicycle, £30, Harry Hall's, Manchester.

tbcwsmO.jpg

Pros:
Cost £10 under my budget, proving once again that Pliny is the true OFF user of economic responsibility.
Smooth, dense lock for maximum security.
Lock cover to protect the keyhole from wear.
Attaches to my tiny 2.4" bike frame so I don't have to lug it in my bag.

Cons:
Slightly shorter than my previous D-lock: will it accommodate frame, wheel and helmet in one?
A little tougher to lock because its key/keyhole aren't symmetrical—have to get the right side.
A bit too big for my tiny 2.4" clown bike frame, so sticks out to the side of it.

As Steven Poole points out (IIRC), "SERIOUSLY" and "PROPER" (the later pace Jamie Oliver) are at the very frontier of dickheaded 21st century food lexicology, aren't they.

Not just "authentic", but a specific variety of authenticity - blokey, conspicuously disdainful of fanciness, anti-intellectual, anti-foreign even. Little surprise that it's one of David Cameron's favourite preferred buzzwords, then.
