you honestly think we are in danger of going down?
With how we're playing and with only a 7(?) point gap, we can't write it off. Do I think we will go down? No. Am I silly enough to believe we're definitely not? Certainly not.

Obviously we need to start winning and quick. Don't think we could take another relegation battle at the minute even though we have a different squad to last season. Stranger things have happened but I don't think there is much chance of it happening. Saying that we have 4 very tough games on the bounce.

Villa won't get relegated, they've got a big enough gap between themselves and the bottom 3 and neither of them look capable of putting a good enough run together to make up that gap.

Errrr we drew to Rotherham... Everyone else may have lost but we missed our huge chance today to climb out of the drop zone.

I'll be very interested to see if the FA Cup messes you up like it did us last round. We were out of the relegation zone the Saturday before the 4th round weekend, then obviously we didn't play in the league for two weeks by which time we were 3 points adrift again and 6 after we lost to Sheff Wed. After this coming Tuesday we have two games before you play again. If we're not at least above you by the time you play Burton, then we're probably goosed.

Just saving ourselves for United :dk:

(I know I come out with some shite at times but that was clearly satire before anyone starts [emoji38])

I'm actually dreading playing you lot now, you're so much better than us so all your fans will suddenly hate us again now you've something to shout about to us.

We are definitely back in the running for relegation. Birmingham is a must win on Saturday.

as if you or Derby will be down here this season, stop being so melodramatic. fuck me ive never known owt like it on this forum, you, saddler rad, rammy and the Norwich fan are the most doom and gloom people ive ever come across in football.
Remember this? Nice one mate. Tammy bad injury tonight, we're as good as down with Johnson here. Appalling situation we find ourselves in.

Good job Bailey Wrights bank balance has improved because he looks like he's joined a right shambles.

Doubt he really gives a fuck, he'll be on much more in L1 than he would've been at Preston.

Which is why I said it's a good job his bank balance has improved.
Dramatically.

He's a proper solid defender but not good enough for the Premier League obviously, wouldn't blame him if he left us if we go down.

Would like to see him and Magnusson play, Flint's form has dipped the last few games.

How likely is Johnson to go do you think? Looking like it's definetly needed at the rate your dropping.

I'd be absolutely amazed if he was sacked, Lansdown loves him like one of his own.

Ridiculous, he won't even get sacked when he takes us down.

One for the stattos, has anyone ever spent as much as we have in one season and got relegated?

Has anyone ever spent as much as us and got relegated? I'd doubt that, even in the division above.

Replace Lansdown with whoever has power over our club this month and we're in a similar situation. Coyle should have gone before Christmas yet he's still here, while we continue to draw to teams like Rotherham.

Just like that we go from six points adrift back to two in the space of seven days. If we can beat PNE on Saturday we'd be back out of the bottom three provided Burton don't beat Norwich. We're also now ahead of Blackburn with two games before they play again. I'd be delighted with three points from six in those two (PNE at home QPR away), that would put us two results clear of Blackburn because of our goal difference. We never beat QPR though and PNE are having another great season. So I'm expecting either one or zero points!

They are our next 6 games. I'm not one for overreacting but if we were to continue our form then surely we will get dragged into a relegation battle. Rotherham and Bristol city are the ones I'm looking at maybe three points, and then there is one or two draws I can maybe see. Anything less than 4 points from them and we are in trouble. Surely 4 points is not asking a lot? That's providing the teams below us don't start picking up points. That Rotherham game could be huge.

You aren't going to get sucked into it. This is the table:

There are a lot of teams a lot worse off than you. We have Birmingham away, then Wigan at home. We really need to get 4 points from that, preferably 1 at Brum then 3 at home to Wigan. After that we are away to Preston which will be another massive test, one of which I don't fancy our chances.

We are fucking dire at the moment, we'll definitely be in the relegation mix. Luckily for us I think though, we might just stay up on the virtue that there are even worse teams than us around... I hope...

Crazy that teams spending what your two teams have (well, Villa more so than you but 13 million on one player) are so low down the table. Yet our fans want us near play offs despite spending pennies.

Anyone know what is happening with FFP? Didn't Bournmouth, Leicester among others (like us) break it to go up? Seems like you can do it as long as you get promoted and you only get punished if you don't go up.

Under the previous set of FFP rules, we were issued a fine of 6 or 7m, only enforceable upon us being relegated at some point, but which we held up our hands and paid immediately anyway because we're nice like that. Would you believe, our overspend was compounded by the fact that our accountants didn't realise the promotion bonus our squad was due actually contributed to the FFP playing cost calculation for that season. But I think we would have failed it anyway, just by a smaller amount.

The fine is proportional to the breakage, IIRC QPR's was 50m...! Although negotiated down? Assume that's been settled?

As I understand it, the rules have since changed and clubs can now spend more than previously, with calculations done over 3 years instead of annually. That allows clubs to say: push the boat out one year and then reign it back in again to bring themselves back in line. Which seems fair enough.

QPR will be fine, best team we've played recently and now got a strong plan B with Matt Smith.

Although saying that, I thought Rotherham looked alright last night too :animatedf:

If we lose and lose badly to Fulham next Wednesday night, then Johnson is gone IMO. All the sackings really happen at a bad home game and I think we're just about reaching the tip of the iceberg here! There were boos at home to Rotherham and we won 1-0!!

You have to say it's been a long time coming, any other club would have sacked LJ ages ago as we all know but Lansdown loves the guy, he can't let go.

It just simply cannot go on though! As for the relegation battle, well, if we keep our better players fit for the remainder of the season then we've got a chance but with the little master in charge, I don't hold much hope.
