I don't think we're in danger of relegation, but we might be by the end of February. Horrible run of fixtures between now and then - eight in a row against teams in the top half, four of them in the top six (including yesterday).

I see we have a new team photo, purely for realism.. :hypo:

Didn't know where to put this and didn't see it discussed elsewhere on the forum so I thought it would be relevant here. Forest want to speak to Nigel Clough about becoming their new boss. I've not decided yet whether this is good news or bad news for us. Must be a difficult one for Clough, would be a great move for him if Fawaz wasn't in charge, then again a new owner would aim their sights higher than him so this could be his only chance to take charge of his Dad's club.

Yes and I don't know whether it's good news or bad news for us in terms of our relegation prospects because we need these two to keep losing. I have no idea whether Clough leaving will sink Burton or give them a new manager boost. Ditto with Forest if he joins them.

Massive win for us. Confidence will come flooding back now. Probably Was Clough's last game today. Will go to Forest I'm sure.

If we can beat Fulham on Wed and then get a point against Wolves Saturday we have a chance of staying up. ( at the expense of Forest perhaps )

I swear QPR exist simply to inflict pain and misery on us. Our game in hand is against them as well, no doubt they'll turn up and have the game of their lives in that one. Fairly scary to think that Burton could be 6 clear of us by the time we play again. It changes so fast.

Bristol city are in freefall though - so there are more teams getting sucked in that u and us can hopefully catch.
If u win your home games and pick away points up, you will be ok.

The reality for Burton fans is that you were always likely to be in a relegation battle this season but having more and more clubs sucked into the battle will help you.

If Clough goes, can you attract a Championship level big name (Rowett) to keep you up or will the fact you are just 'little' Burton play against you?

I honestly don't know pal. Perhaps rowett would come back - or maybe even JFH, both left on good terms. I was one of the ones that didn't want clough back, but he has done a good job. rowetts team was dull to watch but we ground out 1-0 wins..be nice to have more flair if we have to reappoint.

Expectations are low - if we go down, we go down, but if I am honest I will be gutted as we are not a huge gulf behind quite a few teams. Just needed a striker this season ( I'm sure every club says that )...
Obviously on average gates of 5500 we are not an attractive opposition for many players or managers. Apart from St. George's park of course

Nah, we've got that. Just needed a midfield. We have one now, where we stand following that is TBC. Without Kodjia, we could genuinely be here in this thread.

If Clough goes I think you'll get Jimmy back personally. That would be a good appointment in my opinion, if anything you'll be much harder to beat than you have been recently.

I can see the relegation battle going all the way to the wire. We've been a different team in 2017 now Morsy is back, we have a solid defence and Joyce has been able to bring in reinforcements but we still desperately need a striker as well. Blackburn have an awful manager but are the one team at the bottom with a consistent scoring striker, and now you have managed to find a win, brought in some new faces and could potentially could go on a run with a new manager. Bristol City are in freefall but surely have a good enough squad to stay up and you'd imagine will sack Johnson in the next couple of weeks. Notts Forest will soon have a new manager as well which should boost them. Rotherham on the other hand, are doomed! :D

I agree. Think it will go to the wire.

Get yourself a striker and you are a mid table team. That's the fine line between success and failure I guess.

Maybe, but you have stopped the losing culture at the club and bought back some happiness and fresh faces and got rid of some of the dead wood.
With what you have spent it would be a travesty if you was in this thread - kodjia or not..

Yep, and it's a testament as to how bad Blackburn are that they have a striker but are still 23rd in the league. Brentford are a good example, if they didn't have Hogan they'd be in with us lot.

Bollocks. No one knows who will be bottom 3. Could be forest, Burton and Rotherham or could be someone who drops like a stone.
Long way to go get...

Hogan and Kodj looked good tonight, should be fine
No good lumping it to them every 5 minutes hoping they do something though.

Sign a new midfield and lump it over their heads. Great plan.

Have one of the most talented squads in the league, sit back and hope to hoof a decent counter attack.

It's ridiculous. Only 8 points off and we literally can't buy a win.

With us Blackburn, Bristol city and forest winning it drags other teams back in. Such as qpr and even up as far as Brentford
Still think it's 2 from us and Blackburn and Wigan though as Rotherham look doomed.

We'll go on a run at some point and pick up the points we need. We may have lost Hogan, but I don't have the same sinking feeling I had last year.

I should have been clearer. When I said up to Brentford I should have said excluding you - as you are a top half team comfortably.
Some great players.
