Best team based on what? Money spent?

Ayew, McCormack and Kodjia aside, your team is no better than Brighton, Huddersfield and even Derby at present. For the ‘firepower’ Villa fans keep droning on about on Twitter and H&V, only three clubs have scored less. Villa have grossly overspent on average players, namely Elphick, Gollini, Tshibola, Chester, Jedinak and De Laet.
it's certainly one of the best teams on paper. Yes we've overspent, but we was always bound to pay over the odds for players like a lot of clubs do. If you had our team you would be aiming for promotion surely? It is what it is at the end of the day, but something is not right. I do believe we have a good enough team to get out of this division though. You probably think I'm another deluded villa fan, but a lot of people had us down for a quick return.

I hope Holloway remembers to wear his Blues jumper when he gets interviewed for the Villa job

That would be a proper "welcome to the Championship" managerial appointment. Not knocking the guy, his CV isn't too shabby but he's a bit of a step down in calibre than Villa have been used to for the past decade or so.

houllier was the one we missed out on there. If only we could of kept him a bit longer. Villa fans at the time weren't impressed though, but that was mainly down to his love of all things Liverpool. I think he could of been successful with more time. Hard fans to please us villa fans are, although we was very patient with lambert.

I remember the people calling for MO'N's head every other week because we couldn't progress past 6th and he hadn't won any thing. :ffs:

they won't admit it now though. You don't realise what you've got until it's gone. Thing is some of our fans think we should be pushing for league titles, but we only did that on a regular basis when hitler was in nappies. Since the 1920s we've won 1 league title, and in my lifetime we've only came runners up twice which tells you everything. We were a top 6 club at best, now we are a sleeping giant in the second division. We are a hard Fanbase to please, and at times very fickle.

No, of course not, didn't stop the same idiots greeting his resignation with glee, until we got slapped 6-0 by (newly promoted) Newcastle, that is.

Indeed, the last thing we won (intertoto doesn't count, fuck off) was in 1996, I don't even remember us winning a thing due to being born in '92 and the highest finishes I remember are 6th...

Erm, really?

Their squad on paper is the second strongest in the league, that's what it's based on.

How many sides would players like Elphick, Jedinak, Ayew, Kodjia, Gestede etc not get into?

Sweepstake time!

To the nearest minute, how long will Cardiff City players spend 'injured' eating up time next Friday night?

I'm going with 22.

Forget that, I'd be wrapping Tammy up in cotton wool, Warnock will have Manga kicking lumps out of the kid.

None of our players have got the bottle to do that play acting shit. I'll give you a Cardiff player to be booked within 10 minutes though.

You've still got some very good individuals. Manga, Ralls, O'Keefe, Lambert etc. Not a chance you'll struggle under Warnock now.

Apparently we've drawn up a 10-man short list and the following are NOT on it:

Sam Allardyce, Steve McClaren, Nigel Pearson, Ryan Giggs, Steve Cotterill, Tim Sherwood, ,Nathan Jones and Gary Rowett.

Preferred at this point seem to be Steve Bruce, Sean Dyche, David Wagner and Lee Johnson.

It's gonna go to Bruce, I'd say pretty much guaranteed at this point.

Can I just remind everyone Warnock is a pig bastard c***
No reminder needed here, hate to admit it but he usually does a good job. He will love coming to Hillsborough, much as I hate him, he was of very few characters left in the game, no wonder "they" love him, he always winds our lot up.

Just waiting for the press stuff in the build up to our game, classic Warnock will be coming out.

I imagine Lee Johnson will be starting riots again in his eyes.

I do admire the fact he is a character though and is one of the few people in football who dish it out but can generally take it too.

Still don't like him though

He's had enough in the last 18 months to not have taken us far backwards as he has, and he's a one trick pony.
Respect to him for saving us from relegation, and taking us to a playoff semi final, but he has to go ASAP. Too stubborn to change.

You're more than welcome to him.

I remember warning Ipswich fans here or on TFF on how stubborn McCarthy was, nobody listened... :sl:

I hope it's Lee Johnson just to see the meltdown. Also I like Warnock.
