Ronnie out. Can't say I'm bothered, he needs to go away and learn to respect the game again. For too long he's gotten away with shit simply because he's the most talented player to have ever picked up a cue.

Mad tournament this year, all the favourites are dropping like flies. Makes for some great viewing.

He was never winning that final frame. Hawkins is due a title here, he could easily do a Bingham as he has ridiculously good safety. Nobody is playing well, anyone could win it but you just feel someone like Ding may never get a better chance the way the draw has panned out.

My big fear too. I've refused to watch Higgins since his sting, so getting to the final will basically spoil the end of the tournament for me as I won't watch it. And if he wins it, it will be another kick in the bollocks of the game for me.

Who on earth thought Ebdon would be a good addition to the commentary team? You don't have to have EVERY SINGLE veteran player on, less is more. Last night he was screaming "what a shot!" as Baird potted an admittedly good ball into the centre but then found himself immediately snookered on his next ball.

I guess they can't have Hendry doing every match though, he's as good an analyst as he was a player.

Eurosport is better. Actually shows snooker on TV as well!

The worst commentator by far is Willie Thorne, closely followed by Ebdon. What's happened to Dennis Taylor? He was decent, certainly better than Ebdon. Or is he still commenting and I've simply missed it? I Agree that Hendry is the best of them, you really take note of what he's saying because you know, unlike the others, that he really knows his shit. Also, he was the first player to successfully utilise the attacking style of snooker that the majority of players now employ (thanks mainly to Hendry), so he seems to make better predictions as to what the player is thinking and doing.

And as soon as I say that, I'm watching the Fu/Hawkins match and Taylor is commentating with Parrott. Not bad considering he had his appendix out only 4 days ago.

Great to read that McManus is beating Higgins 3-1 in the other match. Hopefully he keeps it up, I'd absolutely love to see McManus win this tournament, it would go a long way to restoring my faith in snooker.
