I played badly as a youth, then didn't play for years. I joined a club about 4 years ago to go with my son.
I'm actually worse now, as I wear specs, and unless you wear Dennis Taylor specials, you're always looking over them.
I take the kids and they bugger about on the 50p pool tables while I watch / offer my sage advice. Snooker is out as a frame costs about a tenner, we're so bad.
Couple of big names already out of the NI open - Murphy, Wilson (Craigie was brilliant) and Trump today, chucking in the towel when still in the match.
Although Hendry is an excellent commentator and one of the best, I'm not sure he should do O'Sullivan's matches as he struggles to hide the fact he wants him to lose. Any miss is heavily criticised and any good shot is basically greeted with "well it's Ronnie, so I didn't expect him to miss that" etc.
I don't see him losing tonight, he looks like he's on song. Plus I always feel Murphy has a game that plays right into Ronnie's hands. We know what Ronnie's kryptonite is and it certainly isn't a player as attacking as Murphy.
