Another limp defeat last night. Big game this weekend at Bristol Rovers who appear to setup exactly the same as us, majorly defensive. Under Sheridan we've won a pathetic 4 games and we play the most tedious, hopeful football. Punt it somewhere in the direction of Pitman who can barely move. The old dinosaur was shouting such pointless abuse at the players last night that a Pompey journalist even tweeted his thoughts about how demoralising it must be for a group of players severely lacking in confidence. We brought in a loan left back from Brentford who got MoM in our away win at Ipswich bagging 3 assists. Since then he's been made to curb any attacking tendencies and has looked pretty terrible.

We have ZERO chance of staying up with this absolute weapon in charge. Given he's best mates with our duckweed of a chairman its not looking very rosy down our way.
Bad owners are the biggest danger lower league clubs face.
somehow, someway, get that bellend out of your club and regardless of what division you are in next year you can regroup, rebuild and go again.
The most important thing is that you still have a club at the end of it all.
For all of our past history (and I have been on the receiving end of some) I would never wish to see another club go the way of Bury.
I hope you can weed the shit out sooner rather than later.

Cheers LW. You wouldn't believe the catalogue of nonsense we've had to endure this season.

Best player Michael Doughty retires from football to run a sustainable trainer (as in shoes) company.

Richie Wellens leaves to become Salford manager in league 2

8th choice CB Taylor Curran mysteriously becomes involved in first team action. It transpires his dad is an investor in the club and as a thank you we give Taylor a 3 year deal and actually play the useless fucker.

Sheridan comes in to manage the club and has the lowest win % in our history (might be highest loss %, regardless its shit)

Preliminary court case to determine who owns what between Lee Power and Michael Standing and others expected to be heard in 2022 meaning we can't do anything with the ownership, even if we had buyer's (that bit might be wrong)

The whole club, after last season stinks again.

Think we can all thank the fact there seems to be another 6 shite teams as well as our own. Any 4 from 7.

3 of us will escape.

My money is on Wigan, Swindon, Wimbledon, Rochdale to go down

We’ve rolled the dice and have sacked Keith Curle.

Rovers have done similar and binned off Tisdale

Doubtful. All in very real danger of the drop. What new manager wants that on his CV. Pointless appointing another journeyman, firefighter type.

Just who would you go for? Presume the out of work types that’d be interested in a failing L1 club ain’t much good.

Like him or loathe him Joey Barton had Fleetwood playing decent stuff. Garry Monk and Paul Cook decent shouts too.
Some fans are saying Holloway and even Darrell Clarke, but both not up to L1 football IMO

We’ve got Jon Brady (under 18’s coach) as caretaker assisted by Ian Sampson and Marc Richards two Cobblers legends. If we come out fighting and playing positive football I’d be quite happy to have them til the end of the season.

This is exactly what we are looking for. We have former STFC players on payroll that surely would get a decent group of players playing with a modicum of fight and not the absolute defensive shit show we are getting under Sheridan, who is proving to be an absolute dinosaur.

Got to be realistic. Cook had chances to take over ‘better’ clubs and turned them down. Barton won’t go backwards either. Ditto Monk.

Some bigger name, first managerial job type could be interested 8n getting a foot on the ladder. Steer clear of previous managers and ex players.

Robbie Fowler applied for the job previously, never managed in this country but hasnt got a bad record abroad.

I think any managerial appointment is risky, some can be great at one club and tosh at another. Whoever we get in needs to put a heavy boot up their arses anyway.

So that’s 3 of the bottom 6 looking for a new manager.

I know Jason Euell is very keen on the Wimbledon job.

Not heard that one, he'd been out of football for a while before us and I cant imagine anyone else would have wanted him going by our season.
Certainly was looking for the sack by saying last nights performance was "fabulous" and that he is "not a magician"

It’s difficult to imagine what ‘worse than us’ could actually looks like.

It must defy belief.

Thank god he's gone.

Reckon Saturday would have been a game of 'who can put out the most defenders'.

Honestly, I'd bring back GC until the end of the season. I'm that desperate.

But who wants a contract for 3 months only? Offer any new man a 2 year contract and then still get relegated and you’re lumbered again.

This applies to all of us, of course.

yes, which leaves you either with someone looking for their first job or someone who is just looking for a job because they have been sacked too often.

Last time we were in this position, we just ended up taking the assistant on. I imagine if Brady gets results and changes the style of play, he'll keep it. No stand out names that are realistic, but for me personally id like someone who could teach players how to play some occasional short passes please, my necks going to require a period of recovery.

I'd go with the option to extend, providing they could keep us up.

The higher up the table, the better the contract if/when we resign them.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't offer that type of contract to any manager - just Coughlan, after everything that happened.

I’m fairly sure we’ve had managers on a month by month basis, but yeah it’s not likely you’ll sack someone before the end of the season, so 3 months with an option to extend seems very sensible.

I'll say later rather than sooner but I do hope they ultimately get rid of him.

It'll be interesting see which way Northampton go. Obviously promoted with one style of play but it sounds like Curle tried to change it around in January and they're in a halfway house where they'll probably now not be great at either as the squad started to change and evolve.

I'm not sure whether Bristol Rovers have a squad that are underperforming or not but three managers in a season doesn't end well too often (if any!).
