Based on our current form since the start of 2021, we will score 2 more goals between now and the end of the season.

So our game never should have been off. Club is furious with the referee as photos and videos have shown, the soil and grass was absolutely fine. Had a temperature reading of 33 degrees ffs as we’d had the lamps on it all morning.

To top of off, he made the call around 11am ffs. Why not delay the decision? We’ve now reported the referee to EFL and referee association, shocking decision.

Then to sum it up, we asked if we could play tomorrow and the EFL said to ask Swindon as they can’t force them. Swindon said no as they “aren’t able to get players to the game”.

I know they’re within their rights to refuse, but fucking hell what an excuse. They knew what was potentially coming with their lack of GK. Their stadium is about 45 minutes drive away ffs - at least come up with a decent excuse!

Based on this info we should be awarded the 3 points. Always said Swindon are gutless. Good job fans are not allowed into games yet.

Got nothing to do with the keeper. We loaned one from your neighbours. Got a couple of injured players so if the boot was on the other foot you’d not take up the offer either.

As I said, at least come up with a better excuse!

I’m actually surprised though, this is us at our weakest and Sheridan is afraid to play us. God help you if that’s the case

You could have played today, but bottled it according to Rovers...............

Sits back, eats popcorn, enjoys the afterglow of yet another win.

Bottled what? They wanted to play because we’re down on injuries and 3 players dropped for telling the Sheridactyl to fuck off. Of course we didn’t want to play.

Jeez, if they’re that scared of a full strength Swindon then they really are fucked!

If Pompey beat you tonight we move out of the relegation spots!

That’d be moving up 3 places without playing. The Sheridactyl could be on to something here!

Be honest, though. The only reason you wanted the game on Sunday was that, unbelievably, we were weaker than we usually are.

Anyhoo, were both doomed I reckon.

I don’t think so, I think we have a better team and with Tisdale gone the players were fired up ready to bounce back and prove a point

This is twice now on this thread that you've stated that you should be awarded 3 points for the referee calling off the game on Saturday.

May I ask why you actually keep beating this drum? The referee called the game off, the EFL asked if we wanted to play the game on the Sunday, for whatever reason we decided against it, regardless as to what our decision was to refuse we were well within our rights to according to the EFL so pray tell why do Bristol Rovers deserve to be awarded 3 points here?

Yes you were within your rights . But what was really that bad in playing us on the Sunday. Also if the referee as asked was to re-inspect the pitch at 1300 hours on the saturday the game would have gone ahead. Something very fishy here. And the reason your club gave for not wanting to play sunday does'nt wash with me at all. So three points awarded to us.

Fishy how? You don’t honestly think us and the ref were in collusion in calling the match off?

We’re getting into Trump country with that.

Well today Rovers have recieved an apology from the "Board of EFL referees " stating that Saturdays game should have gone ahead. Also why were Swindon notified before the home team of the referees decision ? And your excuse not to play on the Sunday was -- " Did not have access to a training facility " What ?? You have no where to train ? Your club must be a bloody shambles then.

Same old Swindon..

In all seriousness though I hope they discipline the referee.

If this was the other way around you would expect fines and punishment. Imagine if there were fans, the commercial loss ffs

Our 'reasoning' for not playing on the Sunday - which is irrelevant given we didn't have to fulfil the fixture at > 7 days notice anyway - was that we didn't have anywhere adequate to train to get us prepared for the Sunday game.

Why is it 'very fishy'? The ref called off the game (as it turns out HE was in the wrong) and we chose not to play on the Sunday.

Just because YOU aren't content with our reasoning not to play on the Sunday is nowhere near a valid reason for Rovers just being awarded 3 points. You will more than likely get them fairly easily when we do play anyway.

It's not necessarily about the laws of the game though is it? It's about the spirit of the game.

We felt our pitch wouldn't thaw out for Saturday, so approached Wigan (who had already travelled) and suggested putting it back to Sunday. I'm pretty bloody sure they didn't have anywhere to train at such short notice, but they agreed to the move to get the game done. We did this in the knowledge that we had a Papa John's Semi Final 48 hours later, and it could have had a negative effect on our preparations for that game, which, in hindsight, it certainly did.

The point being two clubs (us and Wigan) did what we didn't have to do to get the game on, at some cost ultimately to us both. Wigan have gone up in my estimation in their approach to the circumstances.

However it's spun Swindon's excuses (and that's what they are) for not playing on the Sunday are a very poor advertisement for them as a club and the people supposedly running them. I'd be embarrassed if it were my club.

Jesus Christ. A game gets rearranged cos the ref calls it off. What’s the big deal. I’m damn sure if you lot had a game against a play off rival and had 5 players down, you’d rather not play either.

Holier than thou bollocks of the highest order.

Not sure you are being very truthful there Eric in stating that Wigan had already travelled prior to rearranging the game if the manager of Wigan Athletic is to be believed in this article in their local rag.

The moving of the game to Sunday was agreed by both parties on Friday morning, which meant that Wigan could make alternative arrangements including training on their actual pitch. Had we been given the same arrangement that you guys sorted out I'm sure we might have agreed to the switch. Our game was called off at midday on the Saturday so its not really a fair comparison.

I believe Shrewsbury and Ipswich also put forward a similar arrangement to playing on the Sunday after the game was postponed around the same time as ours but it was also not deemed acceptable.

I can only agree, nothing to get so excited about. We have as much chance of staying up as a snow storm in Greece. Hang on a minute???

We had a bit of snow Monday. Athens had a shed load. Warming up nicely over the next week or so.

You could get to Bristol in 45 mins. More than enough time to train and get to the game in plenty of time the following day.
