Jesus Christ. A game gets rearranged cos the ref calls it off. What’s the big deal. I’m damn sure if you lot had a game against a play off rival and had 5 players down, you’d rather not play either.

Holier than thou bollocks of the highest order.

Not really, its during a pandemic and we are already playing Tues/Sat for god knows how long.

Obviously the ref was the main culprit, but you would think clubs would try and get postponed games played asap given the circumstances.

Three of you from Swindon reply within about 30 minutes of my post. Touched a nerve have I?

As I said before, however you dress it up, you had the chance to play a match 40 minutes down the road, 24 hours later, and bottled it.

No nerves touched. Just the amount of total bollocks being spouted.

The game will be played - you do realise that? If that happens to have given us any sort of advantage - great. But I fail to see why we should have agreed to play Sunday if it didn’t suit us - for whatever reason.

Well that’s exactly it. If you’d admit that, people would be more understanding.

The fact is you bottled it. It was your right to bottle it, no one is contesting that. But you did bottle it.

Following our performance last night, though you made the right call.

And all I’m saying is that if you didn’t feel you had an advantage by playing Sunday you wouldn’t have asked. Why should we bend over for your benefit?

Not wanting to get in to this particular debate, but do clubs train on a match day?

Not really a debate. I think Gassy isn’t moaning about us actually not wanting to play Sunday but, rather, he didn’t like the reason we gave.

All pointless really.

I reckon we would have.

You’re arguing speculation. My point is factual.

Didn’t realise playing football for professionals was bending over backwards?

Same old Swindon..

In all seriousness though I hope they discipline the referee.

If this was the other way around you would expect fines and punishment. Imagine if there were fans, the commercial loss ffs

The Ref has made a mistake but why should he get disciplined? Do players get punished when they miss open goals or score own goals costing games?

Training/giving the Ref an opportunity to develop would be better than punishment in this instance imo.

The FACT is the game wasn’t played when you wanted. God knows why you’re so pissy about it. Tell me one reason what difference it’s going to make.

Ironic you writing about 'nerves' really. Given you had the 'nerve' to post absolute factually inaccurate bollocks on the previous page.

The whole discussion is all a bit silly really, the Facts of this situation have been discussed to death. We were offered the chance to play the game the day after and for whatever reasons, the staff declined that offer and decided to play at a rearranged time (in March I think it is).

Because this isn’t like giving a yellow card when it should have been a red.

This is cancelling a game when there was nothing wrong, which has huge implications.

You mean when it was officially scheduled, not just we wanted, Christ.

One difference? Less fans watching on iFollow on Tuesday meaning loss of revenue.

I’m actually not that pissy, don’t know why you’re so defensive? All I’m saying is that you guys bottled it.

No, I mean you wanted to play Sunday. Bottling is nothing to do with it and you know it. There was no advantage to us playing but there was for you. Seems a no brainier decision to me.

iFollow is a pretty lame reason

Anyway, reckon this particular debate has run its course.

Hope you get out of it this season - along with us (which I doubt!)

Back on topic.
Looks like it's 4 from 7.
Can't see anyone above that getting dragged in unless they go on a disastrous run.
Could go to the last day. It's very tight with only 5 points between us all.
We are bottom but I do not think we will stay there as we have the new manager effect and 11 new players signed in the window.

My rose tinted opinion is Wigan, Cobblers, Rochdale and Wimbledon.

But, being honest, I can’t see us getting out of it.

We have been shocking all season and still barely been in the relegation places.
Anyone below us should be ashamed

I was thinking the same.
We have been absolutely garbage yet 3 points from safety. We should be 20 points adrift.

But open goals being missed or scoring own goals cause the loss of 3 points or clubs losing potentially £000,000s after being knocked out of Cups also has huge implications.

Yep, we're exactly the same. Shower of very bad teams at the bottom of this division!

Which is why things that happen in game are treated differently to things whilst not playing.

Can't wait to see your face when you hear that players get fined just for turning up late for training.

I'd thought you'd have been on board, considering after you'd been shown up by the Crewe fans for wanting action taken because the game was postponed..

Shown up really?

I'm responding to your comment about disciplining the Ref and pointed out education would be better. Unless this is a regular occurrence with this Ref but I'm sure the Rovers' supersleuths would have picked up on that already and told us.

And fair enough, that's your opinion. I disagree.

But the comparison to a referee calling off a game for no reason, refusing to check the pitch after & refusing to schedule in another inspection is beyond re-education IMO.

Re-education is something if he's made a mistake during a game and needs to brush up on his knowledge. It happens to the best of us. But the series of events that took place are unacceptable.

I always think GD starts giving you an idea of who might get out of it or sucked back in but everyone are there or thereabouts anyway, so I think it'll be close.

Burton most likely to get out of it because of JFH. Rochdale seem to have a tendency to need to score at least two a game to take anything.

We beat Burton 4-2 at home earlier in the season and whilst they passed the ball quite well, they were pretty terrible and we looked like scoring whenever we wanted to. JFH has totally changed them and I have no doubt when we play them, Jonny Smith, who was bombed out by the Sherydactyl will wreak havoc.

Our game at home to Bristol Rovers earlier this season was horrendous, played between 2 awful sides. Somehow we managed to sneak a 1-0 win. I suspect that won't be happening at the memorial ground next month, they already look better posting an impressive 3-1 win over Pompey midweek.

We also have to play Rochdale away, Northampton at home and Wigan away, these are going to be key for us picking up points because aside from when we somehow managed to beat Ipswich 3-2 away I can't see where we will get any based on the way we are setup to play by Fossil John.

Yep, I clearly did touch a nerve.

So, I thought Wigan had already travelled to our place, when in fact we managed to contact them before they had left, enabling them to put their hotel stay back a day. That's hardly "absolute factually incorrect bollocks" as you call it in your hissy fit.

The fact remains that Wigan were prepared to alter their plans to get the game played (as were Bristol Rovers), something your shower were not prepared to do. Furthermore, you are about 40 minutes from Bristol for fucks sake, no hotel stay required, just change your travel arrangements. You obviously saw it as a way of getting out of a game you didn't fancy and took it. OK, that's fine, it's your prerogative. But don't come on here all holier than thou, and try to defend your actions, when it's clear to all that you most obviously bottled it.

Stop digging.

So if you come onto a forum and post something that's not true, if its not "absolute factually incorrect bollocks" then what is it? You also couldn't be much further from the truth regarding 'hissy fit' as well, I was happy to correct your innacuracy because spreading mistruths on the internet can be dangerous. There appears to be a bit of a pattern forming here Eric isn't there, perhaps you should change your name to Eric Maddern, he too enjoyed storytelling.

Your statement about being holier than thou made me chuckle though, given your yarn about the Oxford and Wigan rearragement being the positive definition of holier than thou.

No digging here squire.

God I still have nightmares about that game. Tisdale’s first game as well, you’d think you’d get some sort of manager bounce wouldn’t you?

Honestly reckon a Sunday league team could have beaten us that day.

What are you, seven years of age?

I posted something, in good faith, that you have found to be wrong (by digging into the Wigan manager's comments about a game that didn't involve your club, how fucking sad are you!). No more, no less. That hardly merits your ridiculous description of "absolutely factually incorrect bollocks" does it.

As for your accusation about a pattern of mistruths, I'd suggest you either retract that or prove it, as it's you that is talking absolute bollocks.
