I have to put it down to jfh and Dino marmaria who have changed the formation, bought in 11 new faces and dropped the dead wood.
Defensively we look stronger. Confidence has returned.
We could still drop into the bottom 4 however..poor against brizzle and we have posh tomorrow who are on fire.

How is Jonny Smith doing Bartonyellow? I'm really disappointed how it turned out at Swindon, he started the season brightly and scored a cracking goal against Charlton in the League Cup. But it kind of tailed off for him and I think his confidence took a knock. I reckon had Wellens stayed we would have signed him permanently but Sheridan doesn't seem to like talented footballers to I was quite sad to see him go and on a permy deal to a relegation rival.

He has been excellent in honesty. Really impressed with what I’ve seen of the live games I’ve paid for.
Like all league 1 players, nowhere near a finished article and has his faults, but so far so good.

Cheers. He is a good age as well so if he does well for you you sell him on and make a profit. I'm not quite sure where his footballing career ceiling is yet but it will be interesting to see how his career pans out over the next couple of years. Personally I think this is one we'll regret not taking a chance on.

How is Sean Clare doing for you? We used him as a right back (he really isn't) and briefly as a right sided forward but it appears you are using him as a central midfielder. What formation are you now playing?

He is doing very well, and I have to say I am impressed with him so far. Sad to see he is now suspended for picking up 10 yellows, 4 for us.
Playing central midfield as you say..jfh tinkers with the formations each week from 4-2-3-1 to 4-4-2 to 3-5-2, but he seems to play the same role each week.
Suprised you let him go, but then, we you have a very capable squad and strength in depth from what I can see.

Glad he is doing well. Hopefully Karl Robinson is watching him for next season. We had strength but we've just got a load of injuries and losing central midfielder Marcus McGuane for the season has really knocked us.

I follow Hearts up in Scotland and thought Sean Clare would be a good signing as he did quite well up there. I am well aware of the difference in standard but he did look a decent player.

He did well enough in his brief appearances at right midfield tbf. He was just a bit rubbish at right back. I would have happily seen him given more chance at right midfield before he went out on loan.

I'd say we are down now. We are whatever is 3 steps beneath lacklustre. Pathetic owner, chairman and manager are completely undoing all the work we've done in the last 3 years. Now we are attempting to make enemies with the local press again.

If it was normal times there would be very dissenting voices in the stadium. They are very lucky we are in a pandemic as they are getting away with a much easier ride than they should be getting.

Still too tight to be calling who's down IMO. Games in hand don't mean too much at the bottom of the league.

Fair play to JFH at Burton who's turned them around after some decent recruitment in January but they've still got some work to do.

Plymouth and MK are on stinking runs in the last 5 but will be fine and got points on the board early enough.

Bristol Rovers seem to be dipping in and out of the relegation zone every match day!

Thats how we felt before Barton took over (on the point of letting them know how we feel). I do think it makes teams go down without a whimper tbh.

Unless you get a new manager course, which everyone seems to have done apart from you?

Power has no intention of getting a new manager - he genuinely doesn’t give a fuck anymore. He’s only interested in selling up and getting out - which is good news for us in the long term, but almost certain relegation in the short term.

We have, apparently, a couple of interested parties but Power isn’t going to get much when he does sell. 15% is owned by Clem Morfuni and, depending on who you believe (and not many believe Power) he either owns the other 85% or 42.5% if Standing does, indeed, own half of Power’s share.

It’s the usual story of a lower league club getting shafted by an owner. I honestly hate to think what and how many skeletons fall out of Power’s cupboard when it all comes out.

This thread should probably be renamed the John Sheridan relegation thread.
I would have obliged and edited the title (I quite like the name Sheridactyl), unfortunately the edit function has disappeared.

Tighter than a submarine door down at the bottom, what was looking like a horrendous evening at one point turned into a good from a Cobblers point of view

Plymouth lost again, is that 6 in a row?!

Four from the current bottom 6? You'd fancy Burton and Shrewsbury to have enough?

Yes, Burton and Shrewsbury only need steady point accumulation now so I'd say safe.

five, six games ago we won 4-3, our only game of the season where we have come behind to win.

think we’ll be okay, but just creeping into this thread. Our position viz-a-viz the drop is a little bit better than two seasons ago.

You're safe. 3 of the bottom 6 aren't going to make back the gap you have.

Haha give over, you need 5 points from 10 games to stay up, you'll be fine.

I'd be surprised if the points total made 50 this year tbh

Still close down there. Shrewsbury still have a bit more work to do but should be fine.

AFCW seem to be ticking over and keeping in touch with 20th but they've drawn too many this season.

We're at the point where its almost an acca bet to stay up. Need to win both (including Sunderland!), Rochdale have to lose once, Wigan cant win any of the last two. Think bottom 4 as it stands will mostly likely be the 4 that come down.

At least you and Rochdale are giving it some fight.

Mission accomplished by Power and Sheridan. If ever a relegation was manufactured, this was it. c*** of the highest order.

Problem any club has who hope to avoid relegation is that we play Wigan away on the last day of the season. There is zero chance we’ll give a toss.
