still going strong Mr Vanni. I had lentil dahl today, not bad y'know, this vegetable food. I'm not sure I'll be able to keep it up permanently though (if I decide to), just for convenience sake. I got told about these things called 'Veggans' yesterday - vegans who eat eggs, I might be one of those - I can't exactly remember why I'm not allowed fish either, who gives a fuck about fish? Especially as you can get your B12 from fish if you cut out meat and dairy.

Mass fishing maybe.

Sitting on a canal with a rod pulling out the odd perch and putting them back is a pretty serene activity!

I'm sure the fish feels the same way.

Hey, I'm an animal lover too. (Not like that).

I was just making a distinction.

I know you're probably joking, but most vegetarians and vegans. If you're going to catch and release a fish, you should know the proper technique or else you're needlessly impairing the life of another creature simply for your own entertainment, a lot of them are thrown back into the water simply to die a little later. Fish do have nervous systems, it's quite likely that they perceive pain, seems like a needless thing to do to another sentient being.

I can see how people give less of a shit about fish than other animals, we are mammals and a lot of the animals we treasure have been anthropomorphised in literature and in the media. Fish and the rest of the ocean can be seen as a bit alien, but I don't really see any good reason we should play god if we can prevent it. Is the little pang of enjoyment I receive from catching and releasing this fish worth the risk of potentially ending its life? It's up to the individual, but I suspect in most cases if people really thought about what they were doing (as opposed to thinking it's just a fun game) they would reconsider.

Fish is good for you. Can you replace the valuable fatty omega-3 acids prevalent in fish which help strengthen your brain cells? I fear not, and sadly that's why vegans are so stupid.

Our relationship with sea life troubled me a long time before eating meat.

Fish aren't stupid and they feel trauma. We have a complete disregard for sea life and the damage it causes the environment in my opinion.

Despite my hate of fishing I still advise my service users to eat two portions of fish a week so its a personal choice.

Oh, they do. I save a particular amount of love for pan fried Sea Bass, poached Turbot or Salt and Pepper Squid. And Smoked Salmon of course.
And seared tuna/ swordfish with a lemongrass and chilli marinade. Gorgeous
